This is a draft version of a page dedicated to the psychedelic compound 4-AcO-DMT (aka O-acetylpsilocin or psilacetin), a prodrug that is bio-converted into psilocin in the body, which is the active compound in magic mushrooms that produces the psychedelic effects. It is tryptamine derivative with an acetylated hydroxyl group on the psilocin molecule.

I, u/TechnoMagical_Intent , did a fair amount of research into this synthetic compound mid-2024, and I feel that the information would be useful to other practitioners considering whether or not a psychedelic is a tool that they are inclined to use if they are having issues with progress...as 4-AcO-DMT is federally unscheduled in the USA and is safer even than traditional magic mushrooms, which are already among the "safest" psychedelics.

The compound is used whenever researchers want to study the effects of psilocin (derived from psilocybin in certain mushrooms) in a controlled clinical study environment, as it has markedly fewer negative affects and dosing is much easier to calculate.
