Gazing 360°
Gazing: Barcelona, San Diego 1999
ok gals and guys, sorry for my late reply but I was busy. Here's what I have on the 360 degree gazing from San Diego. Actually, I felt that the one from Barcelona was like a preparation for this one. So I've typed it out, too. Bold print means that it is something I remember them say, of a commentary nature. The rest is instructions about how to do the pass. IN=inhale, EX=exhale. Improvements, additions and commentary are welcome. You can use this tekst to add upon and send the changed version back.
Gazing Barcelona '99
- Eyes open wide, then close tight, and open softly.
- circle two times to the right, then two times to the left.
- Open your mouth wide, relax the jaw, then close.
- "Walk" with your eyes from a nearby point, step by step towards the horizon.(this one really improves my eyesight!)
...
- Close the eyes.
- Rub the temples with index and middle fingers up and down
- Rub the area between the eyebrows with the index and middle fingers of the right hand up and down.
- Draw clockwise circles on the crown.
- Open eyes and walk with your eyes to the horizon and go up vertically until you look into infinity.
- From there, folow imaginary circles in a diagonal plane, coming down to your right, come back in a straight horizontal line and again circling down to the right, and repeat one more time.
...
- Close the eyes
- Touch the temples. Don't rub but press gently.
- Touch mideyebrow with your left hand
- Press on crown.
- Open eyes and walk with your eyes to the horizon and go up vertically until you look into infinity.
Zigzag down diagonally to your left, looking nearby and far away. On yout furthest left, dwell there with your eyes for a while. Then come back in a horizontal plane. Repeat until you have dome it three times total.
...
- Close your eyes. Look through your eyelids or into the darkness (?). Walk with your focus point towards the horizon, then come up high.
ZigZag down. Going far and near and back up going far and near. However, another practioner told me that this last zigzag was from the middle going to left and then right down, or maybe right and then left down, three times down and three times up. They said that it was for mixing left and right. Please recapitulate and give commentary.

Gaze 360 San Diego '99:
The purpose of this pass is to be able to look around you 360 degrees, not just in front of you.
- Look right in front of you at the horizon
- Look a few inches/points above the horizon. This is the most compelling point for sorcerers. It pulls you. Let it pull you.
- Open your eyes wide, then close them tight, then open softly. IN EX
- Go back to the point above the horizon. Let it pull you, feel it, engage it with your eyes.
- Then go up higher and higher, into infinity
- Then start to follow piercing circles and come down to your right, making circles, far away, to the right, to near, to the left, etc., all the way to the back (180 degrees). Turn your head to enable yourself to look to your right and behind you.
- Then come back horizontally, very sowly, easily, taking everything in. Come back to the middle and
- Start descending again, diagonally, making circles to the right, turning your head until you are right behind you.
- come back along the horizontal plane, easily
- circle a third time to the back, come back to the middle, seeing everything. (the three planes are under each other)
- Then come back up to the point above the horizon. Let it pull you
- Then go up slowly, look up into infinity
- Then start descending diagonally to the left: far away, near, far away, near, and so on, turning your head until you are right in the back, looking from the conrner of the eyes.
- Come back along the horizon, easily, taking everything in.
- Repeat 2nd time and come back
- Repeat 3rd time and come back up to the point above the horizon.
- Let it pull you.
- Close your eyes. See a circle above your crown. Feel a slight pulling out into infinity.
- Look through your eyelids at the point above the horizon.
My personal observation during this last part of the pass is that I seemed to see the environment vaguely, in a green light, with vague green lines going through it. I'd like to hear from you.
Also, I have a question: when you do the piercing circles, does that mean that you imagine going through the objects, meaning you imagine space? Or does the circle "Bump" when your gaze encounters an object in its pass? I usually imagine a big space but it feels like I am not really observing the environment.

This gazing pass works on our capacity for peripheral vision, for 360 degree perception.
Sit down in a comfortable position on a thick mat.
Opening sequence:
Look to the horizon then look just above it (called horizon
point).
Let it pull you.
Open eyes wide.
Close them tight.
Open eyes half lidded.
Gazing at the horizon point, inhale fully and exhale fully.
Gazing to the right:
The next three paragraphs describe different aspects of a
single sequence. Read them all and then combine them to
perform the sequence.
From the horizon point, continuing to face straight ahead,
look with the eyes up to the zenith above you. You will
complete three pennant shapes to the right. From the zenith
out to the right and back to above the horizon point. From
this point out to the right and back to the horizon point.
And, from the horizon point out to the right and back to
below the horizon point.
For each descent out to the right you will gaze out to
infinity and back with your eyes making spiral motions with
your perception along the plane out to the right. Make as
many spirals as you need to get out to the right. When you
get out to the right move gradually back to the center line,
taking everything in with your eyes along the way.
Also, as you descend out to the right, turn your head to the
right to extend your gaze as far back as you can go
comfortably. Then move your head and eyes gradually back to
the center.
Move the eyes back up to the horizon point when done with
three pennants.
Gazing at the horizon point, inhale fully and exhale fully.
Gazing to the left:
This sequence on the left is a mirror image of the activity
on the right with one exception. The motion of perception
into infinity is not spirals but spikes. In other words,
the eyes perceive a series of spikes out to infinity as the
descending eyes sweep to the left.
After the eyes have completed all three left pennants, move
the eyes back to the horizon point.
Gazing at the horizon point, inhale fully and exhale fully.
Closing sequence:
Close your eyes.
With your perception feel a circle on the crown of your
head.
Feel something pulling from this circle up into infinity.
With your eyes still closed, perceive the horizon point and
let it pull you.
Open your eyes.
Find the horizon point and let it pull you.
Disengage.
Lie back and feel the silence. Close your eyes and relax
into the silence.
