Silence is the most important thing when it comes to practising sorcery.
When stopping the inner dialogue you stop the flow of energy to your everyday perception. So when you do that continuously in darkroom this energy starts to direct itself somewhere else so your assemblance point moves through the J curve.
The good news are that you can practice this all day long, because silence can be built up bit by bit. Also after some practice when you start moving on the J Curve it gets easier and peaceful at my experience. The bad news are that is very difficult not to have thoughts and fantasies so you have to remember to stop them, have some seconds of silence and then again the same. The level of silence determines how far the J curve you move.

Would you want to have somebody bully you all day everyday? We don’t need that dialogue to function. It’s actually very harmful
Sounds like you got kinda book dealed.
It’s necessary in most forms of magick as well as sorcery.
I like to bring up the example of Tony Robbins, the self-help guru. Dude is tall as f*ck, built like an Olympic athlete, worth $600 million, and spends much of his time going on vacations and having sex...when he's not being the center of attention at his very popular motivational seminars.
Tony probably has an internal dialogue like polished titanium. Now. Even though he grew up poor and had a troubled childhood.
But he does have a dialogue. FOR CERTAIN.
At some point he chose to put all of his energy and thought behind upholding his chosen (socially endorsed) drives, and partnered with his innate gifts (that only very few have), he succeeded at what he intended.
He changed the story he told himself.
As a result this laughably limiting reality is all he will ever have, because he closed himself off to anything else outside of it, and being "king" of it is what he wanted.
And I suspect he's okay with that. Since what he wanted was to be admired.
Even if it's precarious.
But if "this world is not enough" for you, then you have to jettison the prime leash that keeps you tethered here...and that's the internal dialogue. Doesn't mean you have to then live as a destitute hermit, but it does mean you have to choose your allegiances.
Because there's not enough spare opportunity in the human domain for everyone to be a near-billionaire heartthrob. Society likes to convince us there is, but it's not true.
So why not put your energy into something you actually have a chance at SUBSTANTIAL success with, since pursuing sorcery doesn't require you to be genetically endowed; and it generates INCREDIBLE internal well-being...which does eventually translate to unexpected opportunities in the human domain, as well.
According to Westernized Buddhists (meaning honest Buddhists who aren't trying to hide things the way many asian cultures always do), it's the same as "Enlightenment".
Of course, Buddhists don't like us at all.
We scorn their state of "enlightenment" as being beginners level.
Because it is. As you can see in here, if you go back and look at past posts.
But however you look at it, we reach their enlightenment in just a few weeks, and keep going on from there.
Into realms they don't even realize exist.

To put it simply, if you put in blood, sweat and tears to loosen your assemblage point and get to a level where you can reach Heightened Awareness or Silent Knowledge and travel into other realms freely, would you even bother engaging in any type of activity that could fixate your assemblage point back to the blue line? That’s what being a “warrior” is about.
>that could fixate your assemblage point back to the blue line?
Good idea!
"Warrior" is a blue line thought.
It's so true.
That's as good as realizing that "Enlightenment" is just the green line on the J curve.
Juann gets credit for that one.
At first it was just a fascinating idea which seemed like too easy of an explanation.
But over time it's become very obvious.
You can even read their "best" experiences, from their "I was a cool magical Yogi and you are not" books, and line them all up on the green line.
With some horizontal shifting, and possibly a tiny visit to red.
I'm not sure you can even reach the red with your eyes closed!
That's another interesting question.
Does keeping the eyes closed limit how far you can go on the J curve?
Certainly you can't make it to the orange zone with your eyes closed. The orange zone uses whitish light which then appears on surfaces, to allow you to "tune it in better".
With eyes closed, you'd just head off into sleeping dreaming.
But we can't make such rules about women and what they can do.
I just hope that someday we might have a much better understanding of all of this. Our theories are still rather primitive.
Yes, we kick Buddhist, Hindu, and Daoist's delusional butts.
They do achieve what they claim, but it's not hard to do that if you have a real technique (like you find for free in here). And they never mention that they got used to that attainment, and it's no longer such a big deal.
Because now they have their own little throne to sit on.
And can't admit what we know in here.
Their "enlightenment" is just the absolute minimum "cool stuff" that can come from mediation. And you get used to it in 2 months or less.
So it's a trap. You get a giant ego, and are happy to sit on a little throne and play "master".
That's up at the green line on the J curve map.
Here's a closeup of their green "zone of enlightenment", and the super fun red below they never make it to.
Our superr guy is posting about the red zone today. Very interesting to read. But he stuck it on an old post.
I'm hoping he teleports in a week or two, so we can compare notes.
At any rate, we're going (and get) 4 times as far on the full J curve map, as their "enlightenment".
Until it's so crazy magic, if you tell them what's in posts in this subreddit they'll say, "You LIE sir."
Meaning, they can't do much of anything. They pretty much stop in the middle, with a rare visit slightly below that.
Meanwhile if you keep going you shapeshift (for real turn into a jaguar), walk through solid matter, manufacture freeway overpasses in your bedroom just for fun, and other things Buddhists don't even dream of doing.
And we do all that with our eyes open, fully awake, totally sober.
They do what they do with their eyes closed, sitting as if they were too lazy to participate in life.
But they'll confuse you with their "officialness" and size. How can the entire Buddhist church be a big lie?
It just is, that's all. And you can see that for yourself, if you make it down those railroad tracks there until you meet my friend, "Fairy".
Buddhists meet spirits sometimes, but they're so delusional they assume it's a demon, or something that isn't real.
I can point you to two links of enlightened buddhist westerners discussing meeting spirits. The only two people have found, with any significant magic.
But one is convinced they're actually demons (translation: he's only seen them 3 or 4 times), and the other dismisses it as beneath his dignity to comment on those beings (translation: he doesn't know it's real).
We on the other hand visit with them daily many many times, and even share them, or ask them to run errands for us.
Keep in mind, this map is only up to intermediate level. Once you pass the tunnel at the bottom, things get even weirder.
If anybody is interested, I posted my recent experiences in the affection pass post here:
https://old.reddit.com/r/castaneda/comments/vpclpv/affection_for_the_energy_body_outcomes/
So for newer folks, definitely search through the sub by keyword because we do go back and add stuff to old posts! Here lies the big issue with reddit and why old school vB bulletin forums are still superior in some respects. It's just not possible to "bump" old topics to the top on reddit. That's a real shame because that makes it harder to share experiences and convince our many lurkers to come out of the woodworks.
Hi Dan, I am new to the group. The possibly reason behind Budhists not liking Magic is because of historical reason where in the very Past Magicians caused huge damage everywhere they went, I've also heard from some of them , they consider Magicians cheaters because they only use Energy and do not concern at all to clean up their Mind. So those who meditate do it for the reasons of obtaining Purity of Mind and avoid the Siddhis path like the plague.
Then they threw the baby out with the bathwater. For without reawakened alternate perception or "magical"capacity...nothing has really changed in them that they couldn't replicate with modern pharmaceuticals or nootropics (mental/emotional calmness or clarity).
A strong and functioning link with Intent is the "prize." And that is hard fought. Without it, we are dregs.
That's so wrong, I don't even know where to begin.
You've been brainwashed by people who are stealing from you.
Stick around and read.
But we only see 1 in 100 who subscribe here, that are willing to put in enough effort to learn to be even slightly silent.
So you have to decide if you are primarily seeking fellowship (you are), or are seeking real magic in your face daily even if it leads away from fellowship.
Shouldn't that be obvious to someone who calls himself "Spirit Link"?
Is there a reason why it's called dialogue instead of monologue?
In practice, the distinction has no value. At most for inventory warriors, but those aren't serious practitioners.
If you can find peace with nothing (mental silent Observer state), you can find peace with everything, no matter the external environment (be it the first or second attentions). As mentioned above that’s where mosts buddhists stop, at the point of non-action. To get into Universe-city Don Juan style, mental silence is just your application to study there!
Here’s a non-ordinary reality thought experiment: imagine we all experience telepathy with each other! But heres the kicker, telepathy is mind to mind and doesn’t use the unique vocal pattern you are used to hearing from your friend’s vocals chords modulating air pressure. So when you telepath your friend - in their mind a thought arises… but what differentiates their thoughts from your thoughts? They both seem to come from ‘inside their mind’ and your thoughts to them do not have the sound signature of your voice. What ensues is a tangle of thoughts at the speed of light (maybe faster) and your attention is left to untangle that stream!?
An abstract question becomes: “what is the sound of a thought?”. It’s not sound at all, but there is a quality, there is still a line of differentiation between their thoughts and yours. The most efficient way to determine the ‘sound’ of your friend’s thoughts is to turn off your thoughts and simply observe the incoming transmission. Mental silence establishes a precise control group in the experiment.
Now, apply this thinking to the assemblage point perception of consciousness. Observation in mental silence stabilizes the shift of the assemblage point you may have entered. Only in stability of altered perception can you then study the experience, determine the rulesets, then begin to master action within that reality perception.
Also, last note on telepathy: Pray that the gift of mental silence is achieved before telepathy is fully ‘unlocked’. To hear the thoughts of others as your own but to not know the difference would be to merge the chaos of your own mind with that of every other chaotic mind on this planet.
Here is a quote from Don which inspired that last paragraph:
