I am new to sorcery but I have read some of Castanedas work, as well lurked and read a lot of posts and information over the last year. I understand the depth and power of this information. I have gained experience with dreaming but am still very much new to this. I am just wondering what age is best to begin. I am only 19 and in college and feel as if it is all very overwhelming and very intimidating. I also feel as if I have so much to learn and do in my life, but something keeps telling me to come back here and really start practicing sorcery. I am not sure whether to wait until I am more powerful with dreaming and comfortable with these concepts when im a good bit older. Should I live more of my life and mature, or really give it a go now? Advice? When did you guys start practicing?

It is never too early. And you have an advantage being so young. Do try to understand the concepts though.
I started practicing when I was 19 and I met Carlos Castaneda when I was 20.
However, it was actually even earlier when somebody lent one of the tensegrity videos to my uncle. I watched it and it felt like I had uncovered some kind of ancient secret. But I didn't know what it was, so I just did the passes a couple of times and had to return the video to its owner.
Thank you for your advice and story. I am now understanding that I have an advantage being young so I will definitely begin to practice now. Just a question. Did you begin with tensegrity?
Yes, I began with tensegrity, although I had read Journey to Ixtlan before that.
A long time passed after I watched the video. Then someone taught me some other passes, and when I left the building, I knew for certain, without a shadow of a doubt, that I had to keep doing them, go to the next workshop and follow this path. I asked my parents for money for the airplane ticket and the workshop fee. They didn't give it to me, so I looked for any job I could find, no matter how crappy it was. It took me like 5 or so months to save enough money.
Fyi, my daughter did her best to copy me performing the passes from the 1st video - she was four years old at the time; however, my mother in law at the time attacked me for showing demonic practices to ‘her’ granddaughter.
My daughter still remembers that and, at 30 yo she’s afraid of demonic possession’ bc of her grandmother…
It's advantageous to be at a younger age and getting into this! You don't have as much life experiences compared to older folks but that also means recapitulation is a lot less work. You also have less in the way of emotionally charged memories/trauma which drain energy, energy you will need for sorcery. I believe Juann is around your age, maybe a little older but he learned all of this while in college and is now super advanced. One of the only disadvantages I can think of off the top of my head is that younger folks can tend to be excessively validation driven so you have to watch out for that. I was extremely self-conscious when I was your age and the wrong comment could set me off feeling bad about myself for the whole day. Self-pity and self-importance don't mix with sorcery. You need to be in a neutral mindset/mood to do sorcery (if you are male).
The younger you are. The less social behavior you need to strip off. Or at least the less it's ingrained. Things get more cemented in the older you are.
There is no guarantee you will get stronger at dreaming just because. Unless you are constantly in contact with IOBS or actually try to do it. ...etc
Procrastination is my greatest problem and I'd rather see you not go that route.
Thus do it now. It gets far more difficult as you get older.
I see that now. I think procrastination is the downfall of many things and I dont want to risk getting even farther away from my these skills as I get older. Thanks for the help.
The skills you will learn in controlling your mind and emotions alone will be of great help to you and in my opinion are fundamental along with building your ability to focus and maintain your attention on things. Especially if you struggle with this in some way as all of us probably did or likely still do to some degree, these preliminary skills will probably change your life in some immeasurable way and are necessary to learn to store as much energy as you can for the rest of your life now. There’s no going back and you’ve already decided to go forth or you wouldn’t be here. It won’t ever not be in the back of your mind, the chance you have, to have a chance.
You are very correct, I cannot forget what I have already learned. This is something that I have in my thoughts everyday, and I have decided I am going to start practicing now. Thank you.
I started at 12, due to Ruby Modesto the shamaness out at Morongo indian reservation.
And her lover "Elmer" who was tall, terribly thin, and had a shotgun.
He followed me around the reservation under orders from Ruby, to "keep that little white boy safe from his own curiosity".
