After a hard couple hours installing some new floors, I was exhausted.
I sat out on my patio, which faces the western sunset. I half closed my eyes, noticed how my eyelashes separated the sun light into a colorful web of rainbows.
Then I remembered one of the books mentioned this as well.
I gazed into the rainbows and noticed dots of eye-stuff floating around. Is this just eye-stuff, or can they be utilized?
After a bit, I got up and walked into the grass. A phrase came to mind that “the earth is your best healer” or something along those lines. How the sorcerers would bury people to help them heal.
I suddenly got extremely relaxed. The grass looked SO SOOOOFT. I dropped to the ground, just about face-first.
I put my head into the grass, and smelled that grassy smell. Just breathing deeply. My eyes were half open and unfocused on the grass literally in my face.
I noticed a pattern of unfocused white dots on a clover. I lightly started to gaze into it.
After a few moments of just listening to my breathing (it felt so relaxing), I noticed an out of focus clear bubble within the white dots, almost in my peripheral. I just lay there kind of watching it, but not directly focused on it, like it was some distorted perspective.
Then I noticed it almost had like a mirror within it. Of more clovers. But just in that bubble. I was so relaxed that I felt myself about to pass out, so I got up to go eat.
Later that night, I set up a dim room.
I noticed some of the same perceptions that I had the other night. Lots of little dots of light. But the same kind of “overlay effect” of water or smoke (maybe even oil?) in the dark. It’s almost 3d. I can see what seems like bands of smoke floating in the room.
Tonight, much of the same. Expect I noticed small quick flying shadows. A curious motion of ripple effects. Almost like visuals of radio frequency/microwave distortions. When blowing my breath, I can almost see the smoke bands move, I think.
No colors tonight. But I have noticed colors appear after prolonged grazing, whether open eyed or closed.
Any thoughts?

You are on the right track!!
>Is this just eye-stuff, or can they be utilized?
As don Juan explained, if something is true sorcerers use it as a "doing".
If it's said to be "not true", then they use it as a "not-doing".
So yes!
Anything "weird" will move the assemblage point, if you gaze at it in silence.
Remember the red rag on the stick, blowing in the wind? From the books.
It was beginning to turn into a wounded animal, but then Carlos stood up and walked over to it, to "prove" it wasn't real.
Don Juan took that rag, stuck it on his belt, put a gourd next to it and told the apprentices he kept little smoke and Devil's weed allies in there.
To frighten them.
He saw "power" in the rag, and used it as a reminder not to "go see if something is real or not".
Sorcerers don't do that. They "welcome the weird" because it can be used to move the assemblage point.
By the way, I tried to trap Little Smoke in a very old indian basket from Morongo.
I soon found out, you can't trap the allies in containers!
When I got her to go in, and covered it with my hand, I could see her smoke rising up through my fingers, and she materialized on top of my hand, with a look like, "What new game is this?"
But you CAN use the container, to summon them.
So that you could in fact train our shared Ally "Fairy", to be at the bottom of your dresser drawer, right next to the socks.
Just don't expect her to sit around down there while you're at work.
