have any of you tried other spiritual (for want of a better word) paths before arriving at this one?
i started as a christian, unsatisfied, i looked into occultism and buddhism, still feeling unsatisfied and empty. now looking into this, although i had read some of Carlos' books before, ages ago.
- what has your journey been?
- do you feel there is merit or not in other spiritual paths/have you had results in these?
- why did you settle on this path versus the others?

You are not behaving good over here.
Read the Wiki, study and get serious.
Otherwise go elsewhere to ask for "genuine experiences".
You seem to be smelling the flowers of the park, but not interested in planting, watering and taking care of them.
The subreddit is FULL of posts and comments that answer every question you made.
Yes I have tried other paths. There are obvious problems with them you realise once you start moving your assembled point.
First and most importantly non of them have clear steps to freedom. All of them speak about " freedom" and they say it happens once you get " enlightened" and that's it. How to get there? Meditate 24/7? Do very complicated yoga when you dont meditate? Deny any form of pleasure? Deny all your emotions and live in poverty in white clothes smiling and saying love and light? I mean noone really does that and they don't even work.
Then there is this thing " enlightenment is permanent" and the goal. Yeah right. I met 2 narcissistic men that had this "enlightened guru" crown and their group of admirers. They were very toxic and dangerous. I could say a ton of real crazy stories abou this topic but I wont. Most of them did drugs or meditated and had one profound experience called it a day and started selling it.
Do the others paths work? I can't answer that. The things I've learned before coming here were only from my spirits back then. They also told me to cut these guru men from my life and I did before things became dark from me too.
After these adventures I was done with all this madness.
Many years later a friend suddenly became obsessed I read one of Castaneda's books. He was telling me all the time. Eventually I did and I became hooked. Then things followed their course and I came here.
Once I started practicing and progressing things became very clear for me. Everything started to make sense. Steps become clear once you start moving your assembled point. There is not permanent attainment and you have to have an intent to work for. Everything you read here will make total sense.
When i was like 13y.o. I really love Altruism from Dalajlama and I was practicing meditations.
Meditation is good think you are more focused and your affection on emotions is smaller but it gets you nowhere..its not magic its just psychological training.
I also believe in Jesus but I think Christianity is nonsense ..its only giving answers to people that are afraid of the unknown..why dont just explore the unknown infinite possibilites on your own!!
Those who stick around in here, don't care for intermediaries, or systems which add layers that obscure the primal and nascent nature of the ACTUAL world(s). The world as it's experiences by very young children, usually under the age of 5 or so.
Occultism and Buddhism etc. fall into the obfuscation category.
And we can say this because we usually study these systems starting in our teenage years, and then discard them based on the gut feeling that they are woefully incomplete and misguided.
