There's a video capture service for free that claims if they can see the person, that's all they need.
it makes animations.
I tried Deep Motion, but it was a total scam. Got nothing at all from it, despite carefully following their rules.
Rokoko supposedly has no rules. And unlike Deep Motion, it's free:

So I figured, if I can get videos and project them on a screen in the 3D world, I can position a camera to keep just one person centered.
And digitize animation character movements for any pass that has a video.
i'll have to try to tomorrow, but here's how easy it was to have Grian, the Dance Home AV guy, project his favorite Chacmool onto the wall.

Maybe a better video would be more accurate, but the couple that I tried were really bad. Can't upload a video in a comment to show you.
Dark clothing might be part of the problem. The developers mentioned that specifically.
I tried everything recommended by "DeepMotion".
Didn't make any difference.
BUT...
ChatGPT is so utterly amazing, soon the MOCAP will work well.
Just not yet.
The sad part is how dishonest the software vendors are.
I'd rather read an honest appraisal of their software, with a comparison to others, explaining theirs is as good as any right now.
But instead they have people doing backflips, and the capture works instantly.
It reminds me of my Korean neighbor.
At my business park.
Our neighborhood has become the largest Korean town in the USA.
Which is nice!
But the female Korean community is somewhat obsessed with youth.
They walk around with parasols to keep their faces from tanning.
And my neighbor sells fake youth vitamins.
Based on "telemures" or some other such completely unrelated medical topic.
They have a video of a dog on crutches who is fed the supplement, and then runs off to catch Frisbees.
That's like what the mocap software people have on their web pages.
