Beginner with darkroom - am I doing it right

I'm having a really hard time reach Silence, I can do it for like 1\~2 seconds before getting some thoughts or mental images.

Last night, the furthest I could accomplish while doing Dark Room gazing was seeing some little points or spheres, but they didn't seem to match the colors described and posted here.

I've also been practing searching for places of power during the day, and sometimes I see little things flying around. Some look like small black particles, others look like "cells"? Is this some kind of progress or just an illusion caused by my retine degradating?

The hard time with silence is normal. You just do it again and again. Also try to focus your attention on what's your doing and not what is playing on your mind.

What process do you follow on Darkroom?

Also how do you search for places of power?

Google the term " floaters" to see if this is what's you are seeing.

So far I only tried to see the purple puffs and the IOB in the Darkroom, I tried while walking around the room, sitting and laying on the bed.

By places of power I actually meant the daytime gazing, "searching for power during the day" by looking at straight surfaces like doors and the floor.

Yup, that's the floaters

Do tensegrity in Darkroom and silence your mind focusing on the movements. You can't see much like that anyway. This process needs time, you need to accumulate silence to start moving on the J curve.

If you are a woman you can try womb dreaming.

For the daytime gazing search it in the wiki to learn about it or on the search bar to find relevant posts.

As long as you don't tell us you can get silent for 10 minutes, everything is fine!

Searching for power spots implies you're looking for pretend stuff to try.

Likely you have a romantic notion of the books, which doesn't really even match what's written there.

I'd forget "power spots" for now. It's a pipe dream.

Not going to help at all.

And in fact it never helped in the books.

If you read them all, and understand the context.

Carlos was being taught in secret, with the Nagual's blow.

I hope you read past the first 4, to realize those were all just a trick to keep him around, while they taught him in secret. And to satisfy his request for a "genuine indian informant on the use of hallucinogenic plants".

All the rage in anthropology in the early 60s!

So don Juan gave him a masterful lesson, no scholar who ever lived could have given him.

But it was all a trick just to get him to stick around. None of that was much help to someone who wants to learn for real.

And Carloso had don Juan with him when he was running around to "power spots".

Mostly just don Juan intending him to expect things to work.

Very little came from the "power spot".

Even when he wandered off on his own and "stopped the world", he had little smoke the Ally, following him. Under orders from don Juan.

The talking coyote is what helped him stop the world. Not wandering off into the wilderness.

You make power spots yourself, the way Silvio Manual could do, when you get good at darkroom.

Also, you're looking for the wrong stuff and didn't mention doing any tensegrity.

There's no reason for the purple puffs to show up, if you aren't entertaining to them. Those are sentient pieces of your double.

Normally they can't stand your grief and self-pity obsessed physical version, so they flee.

You have to do something different, to get their attention.

Tensegrity in darkness will lure them out once you can stop focusing on everything you're thinking about.

Lessen the grief and self-pity, while doing tensegrity, and those purple puffs will notice it. And come visiting.

So my guess is that you've fallen into the "looking for your greatness" thing beginners do, which is usually a sign they'll never learn because they aren't in fact actually trying, but want us to think they are.

Ask yourself an honest question.

Keep in mind that people need food, and shelter.

Once they have those, they can focus on one more thing.

Most will select fame and attention seeking from other humans.

But some are nerds, and focusing on learning and understanding their situation.

Thus do you seek attention from others, for being a "sorcerer"?

I could look at your reddit history to figure that out, unless you made a new user ID.

Or do you just want to "know"? And any interest in fame and attention from others, is minor.

If it's the first reason, you've got 10 years before that might ever change. You'd have to realize the pointlessness of being famous.

How long does that take someone?

I don't know, but 10 years might be a reasonable minimum.

For sorcery, you have to REALLY want to learn, just because you want to learn, and for no other significant reason.

And, you have to follow the instructions exactly, and not skip anything because it's too much trouble.

There's reasons for the instructions, which beginners can't possibly fathom.

The same is true of "Art of Dreaming" steps.

No one ever follows them!

But they're cleverly designed so that one stage prepares you for the next, and all stages require that you already spent a very long time to learn to remove the internal dialogue.

Instead, people count any dream they can remember as a success, so they can tell their friends and suck up attention.

They do what people do in all the other magic subreddits.

Pretend.

It nearly destroyed everything we now work to restore.

Actual magic.

We've seen thousands pass through here in the last 5 years, and know very well what's going on with new people.

So please don't take this personally.

You need to be more serious.

But the good news is, you're aware you can only be silent for 2 seconds, and you didn't make up anything.

Sometimes we get people who make up several experiences they believe will impress people.

In their first post!

When they're exposed they argue, fight, insist, try to bully, and then try to use self-pity to get us to back down.

When we don't they pretend they're leaving, but often come back and try again.

With new stuff they made up to fool us.

Those never learn and have to be tossed out.

It's okay, bro

Yup...I haven't been doing tensegrity, I figured that since it was meant to collect the purple puffs I could just wait until I started seeing them to practice it

By searching for places of power I actually meant the daytime gazing from that post. I don't remember which witch recommended it, but she said to search for power during the day. I figured it was a way to complement the Darkroom practice during the day.

I want to do Sorcery, I don't care if noone will ever know who I am, in fact I prefer to remain anonimously. Feel free to look at my posting history. I do post things about what I practice so far, but I'm not trying to be famous or sell something, just looking for feedback to improve my training and help others, free of charge.

[-]
u/danl999 5 points 2023-09-21 12:42

Yea, maybe come back in 10 years when you can be serious?

And avoid "bro" in here.

It seems to be the universal chat room meme for pissing on someone's leg.

I'm not the only one who's noticed that.

It's prevalent in the digital coin discussion groups too. I know someone who day trades in those and I'm constantly surprised that his complaints about human behavior there, completely mirror what we constantly see in here.

[-]
u/IntelligentCow626 2 points 2023-09-21 12:59

Whoah, no need to get so offensive. I'll avoid using the word here. Anything else?

[-]
u/danl999 7 points 2023-09-21 13:28

Yea, don't say "anything else".

I'll quote from the witches in Ahsoka's last episode.

I have a theory that our old witch Soledad is ultimately responsible for that entire Star Wars movie series.

It's an excellent representation of the situation with the Olmecs and their magic. And our plight trying to preserve that magic, which has almost been wiped out now.

The movie series has officially introduced witches now, as separate from the Jedi sorcerers.

A group of very old ones said, in that episode from Tuesday, "This one wreaks of Jedi".

Referring to a prisoner brought to them.

Except in your case, you wreak of a pretender looking for attention. Who doesn't realize he's a pretender yet.

Trust me, I'm not the only one in here with a very good sense of smell.

We've been smelling new people arriving in here for years. And seeing who learns, and who just gives up in a couple of weeks.

The place would implode if we didn't discourage those who pretty much will never put in a serious effort, and just like to interact in here.

However, your post is very educational to others.

Unfortunately, pretenders often delete everything, to hide the evidence.

Sometimes Techno restores it, by re-posting it himself.

There's also the effect of people reading my particular comments, and deciding this place is too hostile. So they go to the "Hello Kitty Magic" subreddit instead.

A bonus benefit.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if that witch "Hello Kitty" had magic.

You should see the hello kitty cartoons in Japan!

They don't seem to make it over here.

[-]
u/IntelligentCow626 1 points 2023-09-21 15:38

Thanks for the encouraging words. You will probably call me an inventary expert for that, but the witches were already canon before Ahsoka's series.

A self-pity appeal there?

Sorcery moves your assemblage point to "the place of no pity".

Literally!

For yourself, not for others.

But then, once you realize that humans spend all day long feeling sorry for themselves, you don't like to run up against it in others. You realize it's manipulative. And not good for them either.

So self-pity won't go down well in here. Even when "hidden" in sarcasm.

A single statement like that used to get people kicked out of private classes with Carlos.

Sometimes overnight, from just one remark!

A woman once received a gift of shoes from one of the witches, clothing gifts being traditional and symbolic of a link between the two people.

On seeing the shoes the woman she said, "I can't wear those!"

She was gone so fast, her head spun.

My witch enemy Cholita chuckled as she told me the story, because she was there when it happened.

The shoes were a magical gift, but she wasn't actually interested in magic at all.
Mostly she just wanted to be in the "inner circle", and hang around the famous people.

And she made it clear with that statement.

I didn't watch all the Star Wars cartoons, so I must have missed the witches.

Or maybe they were in paper publications.

In our system, we have both witches and seers.

We like to call seers "sorcerers", but that's not quite right.

Sorcerers are interested in "practical magic" mostly.

Which darkroom has plenty of!

You can walk through solid walls, travel to the homeworld of spirits to learn from them (in your physical body, we don't pretend with meditation and closed eyes), share dreams with someone else of that skill level, levitate light objects, be in 2 places at once, leap to distant planets outside our galaxy, manufacture entire phantom cities you can live in out of thin air, and so on.

Too much potential practical magic to even list it all, but it's "gifted" to you one experience at a time if you're working seriously.

Perhaps 2 weeks between "gifts" of a significant nature if you never miss practicing each night.

None of which you can repeat, but then the next gift is something new so you quickly figure out "infinity" has taken over teaching you, based on how sorcerers learned in the past.

One experience at a time, created by your teacher.

So that even when you have no actual teacher, it goes that way just because it did before.

It's repeating stuff for you.

Thus you have to be very careful what you "want", or you won't get it to repeat sorcery lessons.

It'll figure out what you REALLY want, and even if it's total shit that's what you'll get.

Thus Carlos even used to make people show some big effort by having women cut their hair short, or do some other obviously unpleasant thing they didn't want to do, to prove they were serious.

Unless he could see the person was serious from the start.

In that case, he bent over backwards to keep them practicing.

He did that for me.

But my witch enemy Cholita, got the hard treatment. He gave her a list of things she had to do, to get into private classes.

Despite all the potential cool "practical magic", seers only want to see the source of it all, mostly so they can figure out how to keep their awareness past death.

We've done all of those things I mentioned, other than live past death. So don't think those come from some sacred scroll only the high ups have access to.

Anything like that is total make believe.

We do what we say, and very often. Not once, and then we get a little throne to sit on like meditation systems do.

So "immortality" doesn't seem like a good goal to me, because it gets too religious and can lead to odd "inventory item" collecting behavior.

Where you memorize sacred precepts, and have them tattooed on your back like Rinpoche Buddhists do for the prostitutes they control in Bangkok.

Even our own Castaneda fans start behaving like that, if someone doesn't snap them out of it. 50 years of that kind of behavior went by, before this subreddit rose up to try to fix it.

Ukraine has a large population of Castaneda fans who seem to think this is a religion.

Just follow orders, worship the right people such as Reni or Carlos, and they'll lead you across a bridge to a giant dome where you can keep your awareness contained after death.

Not a good goal if you ask me since it encourages laziness.

The #1 enemy of someone wanting to learn sorcery, is not fear as is written in the early books.

Fear is a big problem, once you have real spirits threatening you during practice.

But the actual #1 problem is laziness, and unwillingness to give up the little free time we all have, while working full time jobs.

I not only work a full time job, but get up at 3AM so I can work on things for this subreddit.

Thus, I don't like to see people who aren't serious, wasting our efforts.

The last thing they need is "encouraging words".

A kick in the butt is more like it, when it's obvious someone is being lazy and sloppy.

Thanks for the response. I didn't mean to "appeal for self-pity"

There is a witch on the Jedi Fallen Order video game and it's sequel as well, do check it out when you can, the game is pretty good.

I'll ask ChatGPT about it. He knows most all there is to know, if it's visible on the internet.

I still theorize that the writers are being influenced by Soledad.

Or that Soledad had apprentices in Hollywood.

One of which might have been Cholita.

[-]
u/WitchyCreatureView 1 points 2023-09-22 01:32

You could ask ChatGPT about the connection between the nightsisters (the evil witches from Star Wars) and Castaneda.

You yourself said anything past the green zone starts going beyond normal morality.

[-]
u/danl999 3 points 2023-09-22 10:50

"going beyond normal morality" doesn't mean what people think.

In fact, sorcerers are more loyal, and more honorable than non-sorcerers, because non-sorcerers are driven by that self-pity, grief stricken internal dialogue, which makes them lash out and hold grudges.

A woman named Joanie Baker took Carlos to morongo when he firstt started searching for don Juan.

And around 1996 or so, Carlos offered to sell Pandora to me, Corey, and Felix.

Mostly me due to Felix having no income at all, and Corey's being all used up most of the time.

He showed us the property and made a point of having me shake the hand of a dishelmed looking woman living in a "granny house" on the side by the driveway.

It was Joanie.

And a bit of a prank perhaps, because I suspect Joanie was an anthropology groupie, and had interactions with my own father.

My father would certainly have known her, since he helped created the publishing company and perhaps the museum in part, at Morongo.

Carlos was still protecting her, possibly out of a sense of debt for putting him on the path that led to don Juan.

ChatGPT says:

The connection between Star Wars' Nightsisters and Carlos Castaneda's work is not explicitly documented, but there are some speculative connections that fans and scholars might draw based on thematic similarities.

  1. Shamanism and Mysticism:

  2. Carlos Castaneda was known for his works on shamanism, particularly through his series of books detailing his training under a Yaqui shaman named Don Juan Matus. His works delve into themes of mysticism, altered states of consciousness, and the exploration of other realities.

  3. The Nightsisters of Dathomir, a fictional group in the Star Wars universe, are depicted as a coven of Force-sensitive witches who practice dark magic and have a shamanistic culture. Their practices and the way they interact with the Force could be seen as reminiscent of shamanic practices described by Castaneda.

  4. Otherworldly Knowledge:

  5. Both Castaneda's works and the depiction of the Nightsisters involve the acquisition of otherworldly or esoteric knowledge as a means to power or enlightenment.

  6. Nature and the Supernatural:

  7. The Nightsisters' connection to the natural world of Dathomir and their use of the Force could be seen as analogous to the shamanic practices and the exploration of the supernatural described by Castaneda.

  8. Mentorship:

  9. The mentorship dynamics in Castaneda's books (between him and Don Juan) might be paralleled in the Star Wars universe through the relationships between more experienced Nightsisters and their apprentices.

These connections might be coincidental or inspired by a broader tradition of mysticism and shamanism rather than directly drawn from Castaneda's work. The creators of Star Wars might have drawn from a wide range of influences when crafting the lore of the Nightsisters and other Force-sensitive groups within the Star Wars universe. Without explicit statements from the creators, it's hard to establish a direct link between Castaneda's work and the Nightsisters of Star Wars.

Russian group is excited with the following post of some one who supposed to visit Carlos workshops and met with inner circle of his apprentices what do you thin Dan about it?

The Third Attention was the personal dream of the old Nagual and his alone, it was not part of any tradition. This intention was motivated by a desperate search for a way out of the prevailing Second Attention, which had hitherto been the only achievement of those who were burning from within. For this reason, Don Juan and his cohorts struggled to achieve the Third Attention and complete Freedom. This huge, bold attempt of the old Nagual to push the boundaries of the existing, unfortunately, was not crowned with success. In fact, after the inner fire, they again found themselves in a certain aspect of the Second Attention, at the mercy and captivity of inorganic beings.

At that moment, someone present at the meeting said: couldn’t something be done to save him? And the new Nagual replied: “If the old Nagual had heard you, he would certainly have told you: “Go to hell!” (Fuck You!)." And then he added that in this particular layer time flows differently from ours, and perhaps hundreds or thousands of years have already passed for it. In all this time, a flawless Nagual like him, and exceptional warriors like those he trained, who know what things they discovered and applied to get out of their situation. But the shock was not only for them, but also for us, present in our situation. we once fed on this myth through his books. In fact, all books that talk exclusively about the world of the old Nagual have as their central core the search for Total Freedom, better known as the Third Attention: if it does not exist, if even the wonderful old Nagual could not invent it, it means that all books will collapse, every aspect, every piece of advice. And indeed it is.

The new Nagual himself, as a seer, told us that those who come to Tensegrity seminars for the first time, having never read a single book, receive much greater benefits because they are freed from expectations and judgments that no longer make sense. Many of us present, especially those who, like me, had been fed only by his books and this myth for years, had a desire to get up and leave forever. But the Nagual told us that for one reason or another he also found himself in a situation similar to ours, and then the old Nagual told him that it did not bother him that he left; but it warned him of one thing: “In your life, you had the great fortune of meeting this train (I'm not quite sure if it was a train, a ship or something like that) going into infinity, you can get out and leave if you want, but know for sure that you will never meet another, it’s an energetic thing.” “And just as he told me then, so I tell you today with the same confidence.”

There were a lot of us left, we rolled up our sleeves and did a good job. We are told that the only thing left of the old Nagual's world is fluidity. So we threw away our expensive boxes, our little private formations, our dreams and everything else.

But the world of the Nagual Carlos Castaneda is a world of unprecedented beauty and audacity; I never thought that I would love this world much more than the deserts of the old sorcerer Yaqui.

Since they had learned this terrible truth and had been strengthened by the experience of the old Nagual, they set to work by all means to chart a new direction. Here I would like to highlight the exceptional situation that has arisen now and never before in history.

The presence of the female Nagual, a being who has already ignited the fire from within and witnessed with her own eyes the attempt of the old Nagual; never before had anyone come back from being burned from the inside by fire.

The presence of the formidable Nagual, an indomitable and impeccable leader, having the experience of 27 Naguals before him and who, thanks to his special energetic physique, makes possible the presence of a huge mass of people who yearn and dream for a dream.” impossible": a journey to infinity with them.

The presence of the ancient seer, a miraculous being who yearns for freedom more than anyone else, and provides the Nagual with impeccable support of incalculable value.

The presence of two infiltrators possessing blue and orange energy who have the incredible ease of traveling into infinity like no one before. It is this last characteristic that seems to be the one that may ultimately prove decisive. The Blue Scout, an exalted being called the cosmic insect by the Nagual, is apparently entrusted, since he is the only being capable of leading the ultimate journey in a direction that no one has ever tried before: the sources, the sources of intention. same. Physically immerse yourself in the place where Spirit comes and enters the universe. From this position the Nagual said at the seminar:

Because books and hope in the Third Attention are no longer useful philosophical support, they have been replaced by a very strong physical body and the one and only simple prayer of the nagual woman, all else is silence.

Because books and hope in the third Attention are no longer useful philosophical support, they have been replaced by a very strong physical body and the one and only simple prayer of the nagual woman, all else is silence.

Doesn't sound much like anything anyone else who daily met with the inner circle ever said.

Bits and pieces of stuff we heard, but most greatly distorted into a rather gloomy point of view that Carlos never seemed to express.

Techno has compiled all workshop and lecture notes, and all private notes that were visible on the web, and there's nothing this convoluted.

It's nothing like what I heard, after being around Carlos hundreds of times and hearing him lecture for a half hour each of those.

Someone's probably making up stuff to put a "twist" on existing information everyone already has access to, so they can seem unique and new.

And it's not helpful to those who want to learn for real.

Follow the money.

What's that person up to?

A book?

A russian version of Armando Torres, making up some kind of secret knowledge about what Carlos was doing?

u/WitchyCreatureView 2 points 2023-09-23 16:15

When someone writes book "channeled from Carlos Castaneda" that's the last straw.
