Immortality

Is it possible for the body itself to never die? If something traumatic happens, to heal and recover it? If this isn't possible, why?

Scientifically, if we didn't have telomeres on the ends of our DNA, cells could replicate without loss. A virus like in the resident evil series could alter our DNA to not have telomeres (risky though).

And if our brains went through enough neurogenisis with the help of shrooms or the intent to do so, it could refresh its caches, so to speak, every couple hundred years maybe, so we didn't go insane and lose function.

Other than randomly dying by something dangerous we could live forever with our bodies.

Other than the prevailing intent to not be immortal, to inevitably die as human beings, as animals,, it seems to me perfectly realistic for a human to either set up their body to live forever with literal chemistry/science, that "kind" of intent, or to just sustain it with "energy" and the will to live, if that's "possible" or realistic or what idk.

Or to circumvent what inevitably actually causes the breaking down of our body. To me it just seems to be a matter of intentions and our minds and bodies holding onto death in some kind of way. Not wanting to do whatever it takes to stay alive. But idk.

Why did Carlos' liver fail? Did it intend to? Did other functions in existence intend it to? Like alcohol or stress???? Are these forces constituting everything happening in existence aligning in a way that simply causes us to inevitably die??? unchanging nature of life on Earth?

Any of yalls thoughts, ideas, knowledge, wisdom or experience would be graciously appreciated

We’ve had two other related posts on this subject in the past two weeks. I hope people aren’t shifting an obsession with the flyers, onto immortality ….

Or as an excuse to dial back on training their “silence muscles.”

The only ones who should be considering/factoring in such things as immortality are those who are MUCH further down the curve than we are.

It’s usually the case that those most concerned with eternal life are those who are currently either not fully living (thus want more time to “get there”), or have unfinished business/frustrations.

I agree with and understand what you mean Techno!

Afraid this would possibly start useless conversation but hoped otherwise.

I'm finding I'm struggling to really be silent and live fully because I'm afraid to die or lose connections or destroy my reputation or even feel too much (things ive unconsciously allowed to happen anyway cause im either retarded or too rebellious).... as far as unfinished business/frustrations I don't really care, I just want to be silent and free.

But power is nice. If I had the power to live forever and heal my body and mind from any trauma, I can say I'd be pretty set, and I'd want to help my friends and family do the same if possible.

I can barely imagine a world where everyone is that secure and genuine. This boring shit we choose to live in 90% of the time now would be a bad sad dream. Unthinkable how we would not want to be able to truly see and connect with one another. Freely and easily.

I can only imagine the overwhelming fear of death and loss is also what keeps many others from maintaining silence with all they are.

The stated purpose of this subreddit is to aid in restoring the reputation of Carlos Castaneda and the knowledge he imparted, which means we are sticking to what really works, as proven by direct experience by long-practicing members. We need to make clear our intent to move away, as a community, from the mistakes others have made. Content that is at-odds with this purpose will, upon review, be removed.
