Hello. I've been lurking and reading around in here for quite some time. For the most part, I've found answers to my questions in the vast body of literature available in this sub.
Except for the following:
1) What precisely do you mean when you say that The Green Zone is a place where one can obtain "Answered Prayers?"
2) For that matter, what exactly do you mean by "answered prayer" in the first place?
3) How does one obtain or effect this in The Green Zone?
4) Finally, why does it work in this position but not, presumably, in any other?
If I've understood correctly, The Green Zone (so we're told) is the result of a very superficial movement of the assemblage point easily achieved through closed-eye, meditative, semi-amateur trance-type relaxation. We all enter it as we fall asleep and presumably move through it into positions further along the luminous shell.
Everything I've read about The Green Zone seems to indicate it's a position where not much happens, except perhaps some self-soothing, some brief imagery and/or hypnogoia maybe.
The idea of being able to obtain "answered prayers" in this position seems incongruent with the idea that The Green Zone is a place of little consequence in the grander scheme of sorcery.
Thank you to anyone who can shed some light on this puzzling item.

You should read the books.
Read the books.
I've read them multiple times, all of them. I don't recall anything about "answered prayers" in the Green Zone, or all that much about the Zones themselves. Certainly nothing as well laid out as the informations to be found here in this sub.
My memory could be faulty, so I've downloaded and searched the All in One PDF as well, with no results.
However, I am getting on in years, possibly I've been remiss.
Obviously, you've read the books yourself and found what I've somehow missed then?
What about asking in the live chat?
just my personal opinion, but i think Carlos himself gave much of the structure to Don Juan's teachings that we read in the books. i doubt Don Juan himself used the language & much of the concepts Carlos gave us.
Don Juan taught Carlos but Carlos gave the teachings the structure and organization we received. we would probably have very different books if Don Juan wrote them instead of Carlos, ones we would find very disorganized and incoherent.
i think that continues in that sub but with Carlos' work itself. even more structure and organization is being applied to what is described/taught in the books.
To answer your chat request: Yes all 17 books, multiple times. Many, I read when they first came out. I am probably older than everyone here except maybe Dan.
As I said, however, the memory is faulty, even in the young.
I can read but not respond to the chat. I don't know why, but I can't type anything into the message field. The search functions don't seem to be working properly either, it seems that the site is having problems at the moment.
It's kind of you to offer to answer my questions in private however please feel to go ahead and reply here instead. This will be more helpful for others as well.
Thank you
The green zone is just part of Dan's J-curve. It's not in the books because it's Dan's concept. Not Carlos, Florinda's, or Taisha's. I'm not sure what "answered prayers" are. You get to the green zone, or even past it by shifting your perception of reality through the recapitulation, tensegrity, dreaming, gazing, or stalking. Someone correct me where I'm wrong.
You're right that the terminology was crafted by Dan, but the "J-Curve" itself was the result of a woman who managed to move her assemblage point all the way to what is termed the Purple Zone, on her own.
Carlos noticed this, and gave a lecture on it in private classes where he pointed key elements out to those in attendance, thus making everyone there aware that it was a path that was now open to them.
And thus to us as well.
I only added the colors, to a picture of a lecture Carlos gave.
Those are just the "16 color palette" from PC paint, the tool I had to use at the time.
However, the green zone really is like "green slime" to Asian meditation enthusiasts, and the red zone really is dangerous and scary like the color red.
The orange zone is not colored right, and Juann and I both believe it should be split in two, with a pink zone between orange and red.
But that would have required Carlos' finger to touch the woman's vagina during the lecture, so he hesitated, smiled, and moved on to the start of the purple region.
Explaining what happens at each.
I'll animate that lecture some day, so there's no confusion on where the J curve map came from!
Carlos used the woman's body to keep the audience attentive, but by the time he got to the purple zone and started to tell super fun to know stuff, like you can choose to shift left over there to make things "sublime", he saw that our attention span had run out and ended the lecture.
It was a horrible loss.
The purple zone is the one which needs the most explaining of all!
We had to increase the filtering criteria for the chat channel because we were getting people in there that didn't know anything about any of this, and were making a pest out of themselves.
Unfortunately we don't know what exact criteria Reddit is using to determine who can type in there and who can't.
It's possible that as the chat channels feature gets more mature and more subs start to use, that we may be able to dial back that security filtering.
But for now the best advice is to do more commenting on this specific sub, collect a few more up votes from here, and see if that gets you past the filter?
And there are 17 books, plus two official extra publications: the 52(?) page Silent Knowledge booklet, and the four issues of the Readers of Infinity "newsletter."
And also all the workshop notes, magazine interviews done over the decades, private class notes from the SustainedAction site (now offline, but backed-up in it's entirety on archive.org), and Martin Goodman's book I Was Carlos Castaneda.
Where did you pick up the association with "answered prayers" and the Green Zone?
I can't say I recall that ever being a thing that's been mentioned in here.
I'm guessing that you're associating it with something written in these posts?:

...since most every religious vision in any "sacred" text you're likely to peruse was kicked-up while in the Green Zone (perceptually). And visions of God being "answered prayers"?

At approximately 5:26 the bot mentions it.
I think it may also appear in one of the graphic maps of the "assemblage point railway" on the site here somewhere however I'm unable to locate it at the moment. I could be wrong about that, because, as I said the memory can be faulty.
I am trying to use the search functions to locate if Dan may have mentioned it in a post but I keep getting an error message about the site being under heavy load at the moment. I could try again tomorrow perhaps as it is getting late here.
Thank you very much for your kind response.
It's actually at 1:30 from this video.
Yes you’re right, I corrected the post. Thank you.
i think most of us bring our past religious/spiritual associations to this and try to connect it all together. i know i did this. we try to interpret this system in terms of what we already knew (what we've been previously trained on.) in the occult/Qabalah we're explicitly taught to link all spiritual traditions together via the Tree of Life.
as a side note, i had no idea there was any syncretism between Yaqui traditions and Catholicism but i heard about that last night listening to a Casteneda interview. not sure if i'm getting it altogether accurate but he said something like that.
If we can’t get the context, what do you yourself remember about ”answered prayers”? Could it not just mean that you get to see what you expect to see? Self-fulfilling visions. Like everyday dreaming. You experience the associations of what is currently catching your attention in waking life.

When you "find" one, it blooms into a "video in the air". That's called seeing.
At first you'll reject any "disturbances in the force" which lead to non-human realms.
In my case, I looked exclusively for time travel opportunities. A location in the past, into which I would get sucked if I gazed at the video in the air for long.
But later you'll start to notice all of it. All of the disturbances.
And come to realize, most of it is non-human.
That view doesn't support something as nonsensical as a visit to "heaven".
In fact, it's such a shocking sight to realize that most of what we can perceive is not human at all, and that the religious descriptions of "higher planes of existence" are obviously being created by people with no real knowledge at all, that you'll laugh at how hopeless it is to wake people up from chasing religious endorsements with large organizations.
They figure, "everyone can't be lying", when they exaggerate their own experiences to match that false narrative.
But in fact, everyone in those religions IS lying.
Because they simply aren't true.
And if they could do what they claim on a regular basis, eventually they'd discover the non-human realms which can't be avoided if the assemblage point drifts towards the purple region on that j curve map.

Reddit is broken today and dumping my continuations of this comment. Can't seem to fix it.
I also noticed, lately, that when you’re on desktop browser and try to create a new post while still looking at the home feed view, no matter what you do you can’t get a functional submit/post button while in the composer.
Even if you have everything set with a title, text in the post body, and a flair.
The work-around is clicking the create new post button while you’re looking at, have opened up, an existing post .
Websites should be limited to two programmers at the most.
One is better, but then if that person leaves you're in trouble.
1 programmer: fastest and least buggy job.
2 programmers: slower, but safer in case one quits
4 programmers: a buggy mess that isn't finished any faster.
Thank you for this comprehensive reply Dan, it's much appreciated.
Yes the practice of begging; supplication; getting down on the knees etc doesn't seem to have a great track record of success.
Just to speculate, maybe the original idea of prayer didn't involve begging but rather more of a command by individuals who had more silence, thus, more personal power/connection and therefore a greater understanding of such things.
After all...wasn't it Don Juan who said that in silence, one commands, with no need to beg.
Which, when you think about it, does seem to make sense intuitively.
It's those "Renowned Men of Old".
I often speculate how bad off we are in modern times, compared even to 6000 years ago when most Jewish magic began.
That was also at the same time fake magical systems buried the real thing, due to money and fame seeking.
But a lot of this has to do with how you use your "gaze", which hopefully I can make a post about today. At the expense of progress duplicating Dance Home for cartoons.
slav_owl - 1:11 PM. Are SK entities sentient?
danl999 - 2:59 PM. They're interactive, but probably not actually sentient. You can for example visit God, and ask him anything you like. And he might even answer. But he can't actually act on your behalf. He's just mimicking what people believe he can do, from all the prayer poured into him.
Then there's Porfirio, who taught Nestor to read the mold marks on plants. Which by the say, are in the SK real also, so that's not what a beginner would picture. Porfirio taught Nestor for what must have been weeks, and if Nestor asked, he answered. but he was most likely not sentient, because there's no real "being" there. You're talking to a recorded message that just happens to have so many different messages, it can simulate an interaction.
I'm hoping I don't find out some day that Cholita can make SKEs visible to others. That would be scary! When she's talking to beings you can't see, I always assume it's Minx, but it might not be.
WasteSugar7 - 4:22 PM. So, kind of like a thought-form? Kind of like a program created from beliefs humans have? (makes me think of like… an AI, but in the non ordinary reality realm)?
danl999 - 5:09 PM. I was thinking more about whether SKEs are sentient. The emanations themselves taken as a whole, simulate sentience due to the harmonics. That's likely why "the spirit" can help us out. So I suppose you could say that SKEs can be "super sentient". But at the same time, be zero sentient, because they have no preferences. Maybe sentience requires preferences, rather than just knowing everything?
WasteSugar7 - 6:26 PM. that makes sense. It’s like, as an analogy… the internet is a knowledge repository and can answer questions, and can interact with us, but doesn’t have its own preferences—it just responds to inquiry. Does that analogy work?
Oh, interesting! Intriguing line of inquiry and speculation here, but this is the actually the first I've seen of this.
Rather, what sparked my interest was one or two posts somewhere in here quite some time ago. A few months, at least. I still haven't been able to find them, but I still think it was either in a graphic, or, one of Dan's posts or both.
Then, a few days ago, I came across the YouTube video which I provided to you a link, which refreshed my memory and my curiosity about the whole idea of answered prayers in the Green zone.
BTW I'd like to thank you for your diligence in your work here. I've noted it often in the past couple of years during my forays into the material here, and I'm sure, like everyone else here, I highly appreciate your invaluable contributions to the sub.
