It's a bad start to actually learning, to try to find someone else to lean on.
Won't work. Hasn't in 57 years.
You MUST do this yourself.
LATER, when you already have real sorcerers you might join up with, it might make sense because exploring other realities with more than 1 gives "mass" and makes it easier.
Except that when you are at that level, you can meet up without even leaving your home!
To start out by looking for a friend, is a big mistake.
Unless you're thinking about learning Tensegrity.
In which case there's videos of other people on Youtube, but also Jadey's classes via youtube.
Forget everything you've seen in other systems.
Not a single one of them, including the big religions like Buddhism, actually produces magical results.
Beyond what ordinary meditation and prayer can do (which isn't enough to be worth pursuing).

u/Jadeyelmonte just had a 40 day live video (Google Meetups Link schedule that she just wrapped up with her husband "co hosting" and practicing with her.
Mostly people talk, talk and talk, but they don't do shit. Tensegrity doesn't work, Castaneda had Don Juan and the whole bunch of other superb warriors to influence him heavily. You don't have that. So.. I wouldn't count on any help.
