I live in Croatia and ever since my childhood I heard stories about witches.
People who knew these women personally were very serious about what they told, even my mother had experience with one.
Those stories included things about their ability to forsee future, or cast bad fortune upon someone (black/dark magic).
One of their rituals I heard about was leaving rotten egg in front of someones house (to cast bad fortune).
Some of those witches I heard about were among Gypsy population.
Stories like those tend to be mind-blowing and are well known im my country, but not so much talked about.
There is even Croatian sitcom made in 2006th in which one girl has a witch grandma, talking about her's profound use of magic and fortune telling, all in a comic sense of course.

There are many tales about witchcraft in all of the Balkan countries that I know off. In the ones that I know it goes the way you describe it. I know people that had got bad spells, people that undo bad spells, women that are excellent for coffee reading or card reading, even men reading the pelvic bone of the lamb we roast on easter and people having prophetic dreams. It's just witchcraft practice with specific intent and goal but not sorcery and definitely not what we do here.

I personally know the people Im refering to , some greek , some Albanians. Most are doing it for the fun of it or to help and they don't call it witchcraft or talk about it. It goes mouth to mouth usually between women. There's not much about it. In all of the cases the skill was passed and taught to the one that has the potential . As I told you there are women that do excellent coffee and card readings or see prophetic dreams.
I know a family friend that is a father figure that reads the pelvic bone of the lamb that we roast on easter and I was next to him when he predicted the death of his brother that happened unpredictably within 6 months. Two times I met another man that can undone any curses and spell binding and he is doing channeling. They send me to him to get consultation for some paranormal experiences I had and his response was spot on.
Anyways that's it. There isn't more to it. It's a dead end to give your attention to these things. Also mind you this sub is not a general knowledge sub about everything witchcraft related. And this topic doesn't give value or knowledge to sorcery.
