New PDF of All 5 Original Issues of The Nagualist Newsletter, 1994-1995, 124 pages

https://archive.org/details/nagualist-newsletter-all-5-issues-combined

The hardcopy was sourced, purchased, and scanned by u/Bilissss , and u/AthinaJ8 put together the PDF (with an OCR text layer) using Adobe Acrobat. I added embedded bookmarks to the individual issues, and uploaded to The Internet Archive.

This is the publication that Carlos noticed, and then contacted u/danl999 (Daniel Lawton) about suspending. It's assumed that Carlos felt that it would divert people's attention away from practice, by making them feel satisfied with discussing the topic of sorcery instead.

What we've come to label as Inventory Warriors.

He then invited Dan to private classes, possibly as a consolation for voluntarily stopping the presses (though you'd have to ask him about that).

I believe it was Ellis who came up to me and asked if I knew it was specifically because I'd stopped making it, that I was allowed into private classes.

But it could have been one of the Chacmools.

Carlos always paid his debts!

So he pretty much HAD to have someone let me know, "debt paid".

I suspect this "paying back debts" becomes more and more clear as your ability to see grows.

Certainly most of the behavior of Carlos that was considered bizarre or random just after he died, when people started piling on to destroy all of his work, becomes somewhat obvious.

Why he behaved like that.

And we will too...

You also become quite strange, in the eyes of others.

Fortunately, we have the books to console us. We can likely always find some justification for a specific paranoia we develop as our sorcery skills grow.

For instance, this morning I was hoping to catch Cholita in Calico cat form.

But I slept in too long. It was 4AM when I awoke.

I peeked out the side yard window, but there were no cats out there in Cholita's garden.

But I wasn't convinced, so I snuck up on the area from teh parking lot.

As soon as I got close enough to enter that area, I saw a black cat take off, running further into the yard.

Which made me feel less silly about being paranoid.

But I still didn't see what I was hoping for:

I couldn't find my picture of the 4th one. It looks like the other black cat, but has a bright red collar.

Do you consider cats to have some magical properties just like crows? Jaguars were mentioned, but no other felines. However, in European witchcraft tradition, the use of (black in particular) cats is widespread.

That's part of what I'm hoping to find out.

Manfred was an old seer in a dog body, so he wasn't a case of an animal developing sorcery knowledge.

But we do have those "magical deer" or whatever they were, in one of the books.

One thing I have seen directly is that when you start to gain deeper levels of silence, wildlife seems to trust you more. And even becomes a little curious.

But that's in the books too. The story about the ants crawling around Carlos on the bench.

I can't recall how that went, but the ants behaved differently with him than they might with don Juan, and it was attributed to his internal dialogue having so much chaos in it.

And "The Rule" does state that all living beings have a path to keeping their awareness past death.

First of all, I have no idea who Manfred was.
As far as Don Juan is concerned, I just remember that Carlos had issues with some flying insects (perhaps flies), I have never heard that ants were mentioned in the books. Where do you believe that episode took place?

Manfred is mentioned in Taisha's books.

Re: Ants please read Silent Knowledge

"Ah, something in you that is not really you is angry now.” Don Juan retorted, laughing. I had another moment of intense internal contradiction. Some-thing in me was very angry, and yet it couldn't have been me. Don Juan shook me by the shoulders forcefully. I felt my neck wobbling back and forth under the impact of his grip. The maneuver calmed me down all at once. He made me sit down on a low retaining brick wall. There were always lines of ants crawling on it, and I never really liked to sit on that wall. I would get ants on my clothes immediately. I was always deeply aware of ants crawling on me, but this time, however, the moment I sat down, the ants discontinued their line. I saw them milling around on each side of my body as if they were bewildered, uncertain. I became extremely curious at the possibility that they would detour to my back or to my front. I wanted to see which way they would go. But don Juan's words took all my attention and I forgot about the ants. "Don`t worry about the ants," don Juan said, rending my thoughts. "You are at this moment charged with an unusual energy, product of your internal dilemmas. The ants will find you impenetrable and dan-gerous, and they will mill around you on either side of your body until your energy becomes normal or until you get up and leave. And now, to answer your question that your mind intended as a nasty retort, I can tell you that it is true that every time we execute a magical pass, we are, indeed, altering the basic structures of our beings. We are putting a dam on a flow that we were taught to take as an inalterable string of things."

It seems as if you haven't read all of the books.

Manfred is the dog on the cover.

The ants are mentioned in "Silent Knowledge":

The ants will find you impenetrable and dangerous, and they will mill around you on either side of your body until your energy becomes normal or until you get up and leave.

And now, to answer your question that your mind intended as a nasty retort, I can tell you that it is true that every time we execute a magical pass, we are, indeed, altering the basic structures of our beings. I have no idea that the last paragraph was written by CC or you 🤣. In any case, I completely forgot about it. It has been about three years or so since I finished with all of the books. In the meantime, I only read some underlined stories. It seems that I can’t do just recapitulation with the time when I read the books. My memory is not as strong as it used to be. By the way, do you think that remembering some episodes of one’s life helps even when I am ordinarily going throughout the day and not intending recapitulation per se. Sometimes, memories emerge regardless of my will… And they can be absolutely peculiar. I haven’t had that phenomena before reading CC, or maybe it is connected to my recent solitude experience. In other words: what can be considered valid recapitulation? I guess it’s not only when I sit in a cave.

You can do your recap "on the fly", but at some point you need to do a more concentrated version, for hours a day even. So that you learn to time travel using it.

You can't possibly get back as much energy, without the time travel part.

And until you can easily do that, you haven't actually learned to "see".

So you aren't a seer, until that's common for you.

I am nowhere near, as I don’t have the faintest idea what time travel looks like.

This sub is a pretty amazing archive. Been an active couple months of awesome: pics, possible clues to Julian/Belisaro and Toltec cliff and now the Nagualist.

The work/effort of everyone is much appreciated.
