Some people can distinguish between “rayos” (lightning bolts), “centellas” (ball lightning) and fragments of their own energetic body.
I didn’t get the point—maybe because I don’t have TikTok.

It's too bright for a purple puff.
They don't "blind your eyes", since those are actually pieces of the person who runs around in your dreams. What we call "your double".
What the puffs "look like" is actually an interplay between the awareness of your tonal, and the awareness of your nagual. Thus puffs can come in any color.
Why mostly purple, I have no idea but even non-Castaneda fans see those from time to time, and purple is the most commonly reported color.
Children commonly see them before they're punished into ignoring such sights.
Being just an interplay of awareness with no actual physical cause in our version of reality, they don't make blown out or blinding light.
These days apparently dozens of other systems use that word "double", but according to ChatGPT they likely got that from the books of Carlos, while trying to trick his followers into practicing what they're selling.
The AI found 2 that had used something similar prior to the books of Carlos, but if you read what they said about it, they were clueless.
Daoists of course, do manage to see the purple puffs.
But they they claim it's something bizarre like "love".
Clueless they are. The puffs can be manipulated in so many ways, to produce astonishing magic, that it's clear they haven't learned to move their assemblage point very far.
Here's one way you can use them for shapeshifting.
I could never have imagined so many “types of double”. I try to see it more simply: the double is “your other you”. Playing with puffs moves the assemblage point, then you find IOBs and enter dreams while awake. You can also rub them on your torso and say: “Yummy!” (I like to bite them).
It's possible that rubbing the puffs on the "pouches" also encourages some of your tonal awareness to leave the physical cages they're in, and join in sleeping dreams.
So that "puff stuffing" in tensegrity is just to encourage the formation of the energy body, by getting the puffs used to being close to your physical body.
But that if you want to increase lucidity INSIDE sleeping dreams, you need to deliberately stuff puffs over and over and over again, until you literally see the tonal awareness stuck to the bottom size of the puffs.
There's no tensegrity moves that do that.
You have to do it specifically, looking around the room to find more purple glow to scoop up.

The other "Doubles" come from rudolf steiner's lectures and works, Western occult books, plus from random buddhist books.
You have the main physical body that's built out of Elementals (earth,wind,fire,water etc). this is called the elemental body or elemental Double. This is what "Western" magicians tap into to perform Western occult magic. Most modern magicians don't know about it so they're just doing psycho drama instead of real magic like Castaneda sorcery.
inside the elemental body you have the Astral Double which holds desires, wants etc. It can be used to travel short distances such as around your room and house. this is what the Astral projector people use to get to that "Akashic record" place.
Inside the Astral double you have the Etheric Double that heals the body and nourished it. The etheric double can be used for life and death magic like necromancy or curse/hexes etc etc.
These doubles can only be used for about 10-20 minutes and are composed of "entities" that you have to dominate otherwise they fuck you up. When you gaze into puffs or other stuff and see faces and animals those are different Elemental types that compose the puffs (according to Steiner anyways).
In steiner's work the progression you see while gazing is "A human/animal outline, an eye, a human face or animal face, an actual entity you can interact with, a vision of another plane of existance and then movement into another dimension or plane of existence".
there's also The Electric Double called the Electronic Doppelganger or the Death Double. This is the electricity in the human body and in Western magic if you can tap into it you can visit the Death Gate. Kind of like how Don juan took castaneda to a gate and Carlos ran into that Giant bug Guardian that he had to overcome in order to pass.
Western magic is full of Gates and Guardians you have to pass and Each gate requires the proper Double otherwise you get rekt.
I ran into all this stuff while investigating Castaneda's double in other forums. It's spattered randomly all over reddit and various other places. There are people messing with these doubles and they consider what Don Juan called "the Double" to be the Astral double even though they're not the same at all.
If you visit those Astral projection subs, they're using the hand technique and dream gates to hop into the astral body. lol . that's why you get random people here asking about lucid dreaming and using the Dream Gates.
There's other doubles i ran into, but i was going down a deep rabbit hole and decided to stop researching this stuff.

Try grabbing the edges of the stretched puff like it was a blanket, and then toss it like you're tossing a blanket to lay flat on a bed.
If you've ever tried to save time by tossing sheets and blankets hoping thye'll land perfectly, then you already know the "doing" of that.
And can do it with the puff.
Except if the puff stretches out like a blanket and falls, it produces an alternate reality.
Such as a dirt road going down the middle of your room.
FULLY visible. Not imagined at all.
You can even jump onto it and walk out of the room, right through a wall.
But that's a serious horizontal shift in the deep red zone on the J curve.
So you won't get all the thrills you'd expect, while doing magic that extreme.
You don't get to be fully rational while doing stuff like that.
It's your rationality which prevents it, in the first place!
It’s not something I know about — it hits like lightning in its intensity, too bright and sharp. Usually, I see a pulsing purple “thing.” It comes and goes.
Sometimes, if I gaze with open eyes, a vibrating circle appears in the middle. It’s slightly oval, has no real color — just layered over the purple, almost static, though its edges move like sea waves like if the reality were a mirror and then suddently starts to wave and distort.
What happens after that is a long story… but it’s never as sharp or bright as this flash.
I'm seeing something like that, mine has blue in it like a evening sky with a messy purple border around it. My eyes flutter a lot so I catch it on the flutter.
