I woke up this morning with the word "Kodamic" in my head, upon Googling I discover that it means "Tree Spirit".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodama_(spirit)
From Wikipedia: "A kodama's outer appearance is very much like an ordinary tree, but if one attempts to cut it down, one would become cursed, etc., and it is thus considered to have some kind of mysterious supernatural power. There is also a theory that when old trees are cut, blood could come forth from them."
My Theory: Maybe these old trees were once sorcerers who had moved their AP waaaaay down below them!
