Hey I've been looking at this forum for about half a year after discovering castaneda, are there many people here that are based in the UK or are aware of any castaneda type groups over here

A castaneda type group is a death trap, insuring you'll never learn anything real at all.

Might as well join Tai Chi or kiss Oso's corpse feet. Or become a catholic.

It's only 1 in 100 who subscribe here who ever even make an effort, and only 1 in 5 of those who get very far.

So you have a 1 in 500 chance any given person in a castaneda group will actually be trying to make it work, instead of just seeking attention from others. And the 499 will attack the 1, if that person actually makes any progress.

Start studying!

This isn't pretend magic.

You pretty much have to teach yourself using the information you have. Once you hook to anyone else, you're doomed.

The good news is, you have three direct students of Carlos in here, and they come in 3 varieties.

The grumpy one (me), the one who does real Tensegrity, correctly, and teaches for free, and the evil witch Cholita, who can lift you into the air with one finger.

Except, if she does something like that to you, you won't mind at all!

Free magic is nearly impossible to find.

I believe she's headed back to Mexico, after she finishes some mysterious project she's working on.

You also have hard working mods in here, that keep this place from being destroyed.

And offer "non-grumpy" advice from time to time.

And you have 3 dozen actual practitioners, who kick the Buddha's delusional butt hands down.

Did you see the map Carlos gave us?

All done wide awake, sober, eyes open. None of that is made up, it's all pictures created from people's experiences, following the instructions Carlos gave us before he died.

And there's cartoons. This one shows the most fun magic we have: Time travel.

It works!

But actually multi-verse hopping is the most advanced.

Haha, very funny. I like how quickly you call these things out :)

The advice that u/danl999 gave would be different if we were in the 1990s, when Castaneda was still alive and kicking, and Taisha and Florinda and the rest of his chosen group were instructing at workshops.

In fact, Castaneda himself discouraged people from interacting as we do in here, outside of workshops, like he did with Dan's Nagualist Newsletter publication.

He didn't want to see things devolve into a book of the month club, which this subreddit actually was for the first 9 years after it's creation, or a Sunday tea social circle.

But now that things are as they are, and Cleargreen is of no real help, unfortunately, we're all we've got to keep each other on track!

But I don't think that people are at our level should group together in person, informally, as the outcome would most likely not assist in actual progress in sorcery.

It's challenging to avoid a blind leading the blind scenario, as it's takes SO LONG to rise up actual sorcerers....

u/Jadeyelmonte 's live Google Meetups are in a different category, closer to the workshops (which she periodically holds in Argentina) and private classes.

Which can be reviewed by everyone, over and over!
