I've been trying to practice my Dreaming, looking for my hands and taking quick glances at objects to stabilize the dream, with mixed results. But this is what happened last night:
In my dream I was in a large house with an intricate layout; it was old, abandoned, and felt damp and covered in grime. I was being hunted. "The Queen" was chasing me, and I was escaping through hidden passageways, but in the end, I was caught.
Right then, I remembered the command to look at my hands. I did it, and I started alternating my gaze between my hands and the surrounding objects. I consciously reminded myself to drop the fear. As they were grabbing me, I shouted as loudly as I could: "I want to Seeeee!"
Suddenly, everything went into slow motion, even the sound. I remember reaching out and touching the face of one of my captors, and it immediately deformed, melting as if it were made of bubblegum or some kind of highly ductile material.
After that, the dream collapsed and started slipping away. I remember entering a state where I was still somewhat in the dream environment but fully conscious of my physical body lying in bed (this hypnopompic state has happened to me before). I fully woke up around 5 AM and couldn't go back to sleep.
Has anyone else experienced this exact "melting" effect when confronting dream phantoms without fear?

Yup. Melting. Sometimes the dream characters eyes go dead and their faces slack. Sometimes they look in the ‘sky’ waiting. Sometimes they try to convince me I’m in their dream.
What really stood out to me was how the whole dream shifted the exact moment I stated my intent to 'see'. Have you ever encountered any scouts
I think I have. I’m cushioning my response as I haven’t encountered them enough to build up a consensus for the experience.
‘I think I have’ definitely encountered one once. I expressed my request to be taken to their world, then the dream shifted and I was in a reef like world. It was like the world had a light green filter over it. But I quickly lost the dream and woke up.
I haven’t repeated the experience.
That sounds so close to what Castaneda describes in the books—really fascinating! From what I remember, it's definitely a long-term task that takes a lot of practice. I think I’ve experienced 'vivid dreaming' (ensueño) a couple of times now; I’d describe the feeling as being under the effects of a psychedelic while still inside the dream, though I’m still not 100% sure yet. Thanks for sharing your experience!

That's not appropriate for this subreddit. Go find one where everyone is pretending their magic.
There's plenty of those, but only one of these.
If you're a woman however, I suppose it's ok. Anything that inspires witches can lead to amazing magic. They intend their magic. It's not actually a result of whatever ritual they're using. So if they feel that the ritual will work, for whatever reason (even because some evil Hindu money greedy guru said it would), that's all they need. Some "reason" it will work. Plus natural ability to manipulate intent.
But it'll be out of control magic, and often lead to a worse situation than they started with. Because while they might pull off intending for a while their unclean link to intent will continue to intend, and maybe in the direction of sinking.
Cholita does that. I have to pull her up once in a while.
It's best for women if they start doing what Carlos and the witches told us to be doing.
Thus: Women -> womb dreaming and waking dreaming. Both of which need Tensegrity to lure out the double.
Men who have no womb -> waking dreaming. Much, much later, you can go back into sleeping dreams to deal with the inorganic being scouts who tend to plague new sorcerers.
But that's no path to sorcery skills. It's just cleanup duty which comes with actual sorcery knowledge.
You're fixated on attention seeking using the books as the theme.
I sure hope you didn't bring along any cheerleaders. Who point out how what you did matches the books.
We hate that...
Just because it's so hard to figure out exactly what trick is going on.
Heavy self-importance vibes. Not much impeccability to be found here.
So you're a "first 3 book" pretender?
Were plagued by them and they always give a limited range of answers.
That's one of them. The "Superior Warrior Trip".
Try getting some actual magic for a change?
And try following the instructions Carlos gave us in his final publications.
Which likely you don't even know about.
And look through the subreddit!
Did you even bother to look around before you started drooling over the possibility of attention seeking here?
We get 3 average pretend sorcerers per week, and have for the last 6+ years.
Fortunately, Carlos warned us about this many times in private classes, perhaps knowing we'd have to be on the alert for it after he died.
Yeah, whatever. At least I'm not some boring gatekeeping nerd.
He smells like someone sent by Cleargreen
The last few weeks has been pretender heavy and they get angry and hurt when we don’t believe their dreams are sorcery.

“I want to see!”
Sleeping Dreaming, for men pretending. Waking Dreaming (eyes open) is sorcery.
