Is it silence? But even very powerful sorcerers/witches can act in unconventional ways. Just “having magic” makes you “be in the right”? What’s the magical stance on morality and ethics? Magic=good, no magic=bad? “I don’t like you, therefore you’re a petty tyrant?”.
Even to teach sorcery, students are subjected to shitty conditions (like being tricked into crossdressing against their will). And also, students are seen as beneficial EXACTLY BECAUSE THEY’RE PETTY TYRANTS. There’s a lecture note how Don Juan wasn’t teaching Carlos anything, just making use of Carlos tyrantness to further his own silence.
Also, even two very magical witch/sorceror individuals might absolutely despise each other, and be powerfully in magic, and also be petty tyrants to each other in relation to each other.
Where is the line drawn? This is confusing.
Even the idea of “petty tyrants” is only useful as a concept to further silence and not a “judgement of character”?
Sidenote: Also, asking for a friend. What is a person who has realized they’re going insane supposed to do? Triple down into sorcery? Will that save them? Can a person become insane enough to become unable to practice?

Relating to that side note…
Many sorcerors/witches are good at magic because they’re literally dead.
However, isn’t going insane death in a sense, something like a “social death” or something along those lines? There might be better ways to describe it.
Which may be why schizophrenics are powerful sorcerors/witches?
The advantage sorcerers have over their fellow men is that they remember their death. Death is their companion. It's not just an obliterating force but a unifier.
By re-membering, re- cognizing.. re..capitulating, we can claim what is inherently ours. It's at our fingertips. Tensegrity helps us drop that mask of socialization to feel unfamiliar to oneself once again. To treat this world as it is - an unfathomable mystery.. which we are made of.
The assemblage point drifts from its customary position but usually goes back to it. It's not the aim to let it loose without being able to fixate it again.
I'd say forget about " social death" being a path towards sorcery. You'd be getting it all wrong. For there to be a positive change to occur, it would have to start at the social basis. Right from the toes.
Makes sense thank you!
isn't the self the petty tyrant we all are closest to? don't need to look far or externalize so much when we all got our own cuddly petty tyrant looking over our shoulders - or is it the other way around?
We sure do have the habit of making pairs. Good, bad.. knife, spoon..often there's "if..then". An endless chain. We can stop that pairing. First, it is a world of energy, then it's a world of objects.
We have to be thankful to come across a petty tyrant. Don Juan in a moment of truth said that the mere presence of Carlos was enough to make him vomit.
Is there an opposite? And if there was what would it be? Answer- must be the very thing which gives us life, the earth. A sentient being in a predatorial universe. Who knows what a petty tyrant may look like from another position?
Wasn’t the earth thing a first three book warrior thing? Or is it genuine?
I think it was the best explanation of the time, but it hasn't gotten old on me.
>shitty conditions
>crossdressing
It's funny, the first time I read it, I also thought it was terrible. And the second time, I laughed out loud. Unfortunately, our habits can only change under strong external influence. Recapitulation is very useful for this understanding. For example, my father kicked me out of the house, but it made me independent. Look not only at the tyrant, but at your own transformation.
I need something similar but not exactly the same as you. Large probability I’d die though… for reasons i better not delve into (related to tyrants tho)
There's always some concern to stop us from learning sorcery.
And new ones pop up all along the way.
Meanwhile in the long run, we pretty much have to ERASE ourselves if we hope to get as far as don Juan and the lineage members got.
That's so very different from what people tend to think it must be like, that it's unlikely I could correct that understanding.
As Taisha said, they prefer to explore non-human realms because you don't get attached to things.
Just keep in mind recap erases your past when done perfectly.
And then stalking erases your personal history.
Carlos commonly made up new personal histories for his inner circle, such as "the blue scout", who was actually Patty Parton.
But there's got to have been at least 6 of those false personal histories, floating around during private classes. Everyone just came to accept, that's what sorcerers do.
And we read about a few of those in the books, such as Pablito being Soledad's son.
Sorcerers go out of their way using stalking, to erase as much of themselves as possible.
Which also erases your learned interactions with others, as you attempt to control your own behavior and replace it with various alternatives.
None this is judgemental as most would interpret what I just said to be.
It comes from trying to "see" at advanced levels, and noticing what both interferes, and selects the topic.
It's emanations that just won't cool down, and which have nothing to do with the realms you are trying to perceive (and walk off into).
Then there's also the fact that sorcerers want to take as much of their awareness along with their double's awareness, on death.
So that if you don't "erase" yourself completely, the parts you didn't erase are likely ripped from you and can't go along past death.
Stuck here, fussing over something that might just have happened as a small child.
Bottom line: You can't understand this topic at your level.
So it just becomes yet another thing trying to stop you from getting rid of your internal dialogue.
Very interesting!
Also reminds me about
He explained that in order to help erase personal history three other techniques were taught. They were: losing self-importance, assuming responsibility, and using death as an adviser. The idea was that, without the beneficial effect of those three techniques, erasing personal history would involve the apprentice in being shifty, evasive and unnecessarily dubious about himself and his actions.
I still take issue with that "first 3 books" kind of thing.
Which pisses off some people, but I've been fighting this battle for more than 28 years and know what leads people to thinking they're working hard, when they're not working at all.
Those "warrior's rules" are all inevitable if you work hard to get to silent knowledge, and see what makes it work, and what causes issues with it.
You discover all of those automatically! And a lot more than that...
You'll be blushing out of shame all the time once you try to stream SK continuously and discover what makes it stop.
On the other hand, you'll never get there in a million years by following those "rules".
It just leads to being "Annoying Bible Man".
I actually knew a guy in college who carried around a bible, not in his backpack or pocket, but he was always clutching it in his hands. Always!
I didn't realize how interesting that was at the time. I should have followed him around to see why he did it. Without him knowing of course.
What do you think of this?
Is it a faulty assemblage point that causes someone to think this?
I like recapitulation.
First I’m not 100% sure I understand stalking.
But for stalking-my-self I’m too resnarted. It seems that to be a self-stalker you need some “cunning” or “quick-thinking”, or being “smart” in general.
I don’t have that. Whenever I even thinking about stalking I confuse myself and then lost.
There's a reason the books didn't teach us about stalking.
There's no need to. That would only put limits on it.
Stalking is like will.
You learn those automatically as long as you keep working hard to perfect Silent Knowledge.
Can I gaze “fake leaves”?
I can’t get “real leaves”.
“Fake leaves” don’t look “celular” or have the same details are real leaves, but they maybe work?
Sure!
Cholita does that.
But when you get advanced, you can "summon" leaves, and gaze at those.
When you can do that, make sure to post a picture.
I hope it’s really a when and not an if!
That's entirely up to you.
Which is why sometimes I joke that "talented" people are nice, but the ones who will succeed in here are the ones who were forced to play an instrument in junior high and actually managed to practice daily as all junior high musicians claim they do, but don't.
