This topic is very hard to explain to those who haven't seen it over and over, on a daily basis.
But it comes down to this: Your memory is not what you believe it to be, and it only works when you can remember something as it relates to a flow of events.
When an event took place all by itself with no connection at all to other things, then once that memory is not clear in your mind, it can become lost forever.
In just 30 seconds you can forget MIRACLES you were gazing at, in Silent Knowledge.
Or even down in the "shift below" of the red zone, you'll forget nearly everything your Ally teaches you as the "dreaming emissary".
By the way, you can learn from your "dreaming emissary" while fully awake, so don't anyone try to misrepresent your ordinary dreams as magic.
Your ally will appear before you while your eyes are wide open, and you're fully awake (and completely sober if you want the best results).
That's a perfect situation for learning about this problem of remembering things.
And then far beyond that, you'll come to realize that you live in a series of timelines, and not just this ordinary world you believe is "you".
Those also are outside our ability to remember, so that you can only become aware of those, by moving your assemblage point.

Grandiose delusion – believing you have special powers, identity, or importance (e.g., magical abilities, being chosen, having supernatural control)
It often centers on power or threat
Two common directions:
Grandiose → “I have special powers”
Paranoid → “Others are targeting me”
Evidence gets reinterpreted, not accepted
Instead of:
“This contradicts my belief”
The mind does:
“This must fit my belief somehow”
So pushback can feel like:
Being dismissed
Being attacked
Proof that others “don’t understand” or are against them
This can trigger defensive or paranoid responses.
When challenged, the brain may double down:
It searches for confirming details only
It ignores or dismisses conflicting information
This is similar to normal human bias, but much stronger and more rigid in psychosis.
Instead of breaking, it adapts:
Adds layers (“My powers are hidden”)
Becomes more complex (“Only certain people can see the truth”)
This makes it harder to challenge over time.
Reduced insight (key factor)
A major feature of psychosis is impaired insight:
The person doesn’t see the belief as questionable.
So why hang out in here if you think none of this is possible?
Besides, no one in here is behaving as you described.
And no one in here wants anything from you. Not even for you to stick around.
It seems, you haven't looked around at all?
But know how to ask an AI to write stuff for you.
Defensive response? Or paranoid? You chose🤣
Do we know this guy?
At any rate, if I remember tomorrow I'll block his user name.
That finally got rid of the crazy Kachora follower guy. I kept blocking his new user IDs.
Otherwise, he kept it up for more than a year.
He seems especially afflicted. It'll leave when it finds its not going to get what it's looking for. I suspect this whole thing will just be deleted anyway.
It's helpful though for some people that tend to want to argue with the monster until they get that sick feeling in their stomach. I learned that way, not to engage. Now I feel ill even reading some of this nonsense and think it's better to just ignore/ban/delete rather than try to help certain people. Because you're not talking to the person, you're talking to their imposed master.
Maybe it's 100% an AI?
Rocket Mortgage is using an AI to send me text messages saying I should borrow more money.
I've gotten 4 in 2 days!
But it seems to be more like that Kachora zombee. It's just that he seemed to go away several years ago.
Once I started blocking his new user IDs each time.
I wonder what ever happened to Tata Kachora? Word must have gotten out that he's a fraud.
He had nearly 20 years with no one calling him out. Until this place came into being.
Is Tata the one who claims he’s Juan Matus?
Yep.
I used to wonder if he actually claimed that, and wasn't just being manipulated by 2 bad men.
The way Armando was manipulated by Eddy.
But they a devotee made this horrible book and Tata went along with it.
There's pictures of his workshops online, and as you'll see, he's just doing Mexican "native" rituals such as walking around in circles beating drums, wearing rambo headbands.
But he even fooled some of our own, with one explaining to Jadey that she gets to say "I have a benefactor" if she follows him.
I suppose that's the lure. To pretend the first 3 books and ignore all the rest.
Don Juan created those books by manipulating Carlos, because pretending to be a "warrior" appeals to the lazy side of people.
Whereas the real thing is too much work for 99.9% of people who believe they are interested.
But that's true of all things which require high skill levels.
How many who take up ice skating, will win even a bronze medal in the Olympics.
Unfortunately with sorcery, you need the skill to win the silver metal there. And that comes from endless hard work.
Tata is a 110yrs now. Still claiming he is and isnt DJM. There’s a more recent interview with him on YT. He shows a hunch of notebooks with doodles and scribbles and says, these are my writings and only I can understand them.
He's not 110. They just lied about his age early on, to give him some credibility
It's an old trick often used in India, by con artist Yogis.
And wasn't Tata just a Mexican? We even know his real name.
The Joni Mitchell web site explains the story.
Doesn't seem likely he'd be allowed in the Yaqui land. In fact, as I recall, the Yaquis denounced him.
Also keep in mind, don Juan met Carlos down in Vicam, Mexico.
NOT in Arizona.
There's 2 large Yaqui populations. Arizona, and Vicam.
To trick readers, Carlos said it was Arizona.
And if Tata was pretending he visited with the Yaquis, it's almost surely the Arizona ones.
Carlos actually wrote that he never managed to visit the Arizona ones, and don Juan said it was because they were so bitter from the Yaqui wars, that if a new leader came along, they'd even sabotage themselves to make it fail.
And certainly wouldn't welcome any outsiders.
So be careful what you read out there.
However, there is one odd story about Tata using the same herb store in Los Angeles, as Carol Tiggs uses.
Trouble with that story is, there were a few among our own community who wanted Kachora to be the real thing.
So they could go around saying, "I have a benefactor".
Tata's evil handlers cashed in on that ugly desire, and were selling apprenticeships.
lol - i should’ve known better. I just fell for the oldest Indian trick in the book, literally, believing Tata is 110 😂
I sometimes get distracted in the mystery of CC and DJM the humans. When I’m supposed to be distracted by the mystery of the practice…..Doh!
You made an account just for this?
The difference between the AI generated explanation there and the reality of this situation is that you yourself are able to experience this by following the instructions. You can try it and discover it works in fairly short order if you can stop listening to your horrible thoughts for more than a few seconds.
Yea, I suppose I should have pointed out that nothing is hidden in here. We post the best pics and videos we can come up with, and we get to practice our "magic powers" daily if we can find the time.
But then if he took that response back to his AI, it would start talking about "extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof".
And then you have to argue with the AI, pointing out that no one who can do real magic has any interest at all in proving anything to anyone else.
At the best, you just proved it and ruined someone's life because now they can't believe any religions.
At worst, you get murdered as often happened in the past, with our magical system.
I'm even lucky when Choita does something impossible for me. But I suspect that's only when she gets angry and can't control herself. So that normally she won't even do that for me.
If I knew who she was hanging out with in Mexico, I'd sure like to ask them if they got to see her do something they can't explain.
Oddly, it's very easy to just ignore it and soon forget it even happened.
You remind me a lot of Trump. Also start going off on tangents and rambling
The stated purpose of this subreddit is to aid in restoring the reputation of Carlos Castaneda and the knowledge he imparted, by pragmatically applying that knowledge IN PRACTICE. This means that we are sticking to what really works, as proven by direct experience by long-practicing members. We need to make clear our intent to move away, as a community, from the mistakes others have made. Content that is at-odds with this purpose will, upon review, be removed.
👀Then you should use your amazing powers to uncover the truth
Those being overly disruptive will be temporarily or permanently banned, at the mods discretion. Content will, upon review, be removed.
Those being overly disruptive will be temporarily or permanently banned, at the mods discretion. - This is a blanket rule, meant to give mods a more broadly applicable option for a ban or content removal. People are creative, and one can never predict just what they'll come up with to "stink up the joint."
Banned users still have access to the subreddit, wiki, and all it's resources (except the group chat).
Can trigger defensive or paranoid responses 🤣
When attacked unprovoked and mostly irrationally by someone hiding in the shadows of the internet? 💩
Don Juan would have had a field day with you🤣
So it IS a tata zombie?!
Anyway, won't matter. I'm going to block your user ID from seeing anything I create.
That's worked for the last 4 years since I discovered how to get rid of stalkers.
For 2 years before that I just had to wait until the mods banned them.
I don't suppose you want to actually tell us what's up with you.
Although these days, even an AI could come up with the reference to don Juan.
This came up in the private chat. I haven't seen it for a while, but I have been thinking about visiting God again, to figure out the most basic form of technique to do that.
Here's the passage someone posted there. It seems to be don Juan discussing God with Carlos. And I believe he said it was from "Fire from Within".
***
They have seen, therefore, that what we call God is a static prototype of humanness without any power. For the mold of man cannot under any circumstances help us by intervening in our behalf, or punish our wrongdoings, or reward us in any way. We are simply the product of its stamp; we are its impression. The mold of man is exactly what its name tells us it is, a pattern, a form, a cast that groups together a particular bunch of fiberlike elements, which we call man.
What he had said put me in a state of great distress. But he seemed unconcerned with my genuine turmoil. He kept on needling me with what he called the unforgivable crime of the chance seers, which makes us focus our irreplaceable energy on something that has no power whatsoever to do anything. The more he talked, the greater my annoyance. When I became so annoyed that I was about to shout at him, he had me change into yet a deeper state of heightened awareness. He hit me on my right side, between my hipbone and my rib cage. That blow sent me soaring into a radiant light, into a diaphanous source of the most peaceful and exquisite beatitude. That light was a haven, an oasis in the blackness around me.
"He kept on needling me with what he called the unforgivable crime of the chance seers, which makes us focus our irreplaceable energy on something that has no power whatsoever to do anything."
***
Notice the clue on how to do this is right there!
It's a far left shift, in heightened awareness.
Orange zone, far left shift.
I suppose it could be purple zone, but I can't imagine being fooled by "God" when you're in silent knowledge.
But in that phantom zone, you might believe anything because it becomes so concrete.
***"There are two ways of seeing the mold of man," don Juan began as soon as we sat down. "You can see it as a man or you can see it as a light. That depends on the shift of the assemblage point. If the shift is lateral, the mold is a human being. If the shift is in the midsection of man's band, the mold is a light. The only value of what you've done today is that your assemblage point shifted in the midsection."
He said that the position where one sees the mold of man is very close to that where the dreaming body and the barrier of perception appear. That was the reason the new seers recommend that the mold of man be seen and understood.
Those aren't particularly difficult positions to reach.
Which is what I've been theorizing, since I saw "God" perhaps 10 years ago, and even regularly visited heaven.
Fully awake of course.
Doesn't count if you dream it.
It's also a good passage to explain how the Allies get us involved in crazy realistic stuff, whereas over time, we lose the concreteness of them.
Aside from the orange zone not being as "realistic" as the red zone, there's that lateral shift.
The more you practice darkroom, the less your assemblage point shifts horizontally at a given depth.
I suppose the lateral shifts are mostly just because you aren't familiar with a new level (such as deep red zone), and have no sense of how to perceive that well. So you can get lured to shift far sideways and end up in very bizarre phantom worlds, with a very realistic Ally teaching you about what you are seeing.
But if you've been there over and over, perhaps it's a bit like having a yearly pass to Disneyland.
The first few times you go on your favorite rides, but if you went everyday, you might end up discovering that they serve wine in the restaurant above the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. So you go hang out with your friends and don't go on the crazy rides nearly as much.
For beginners, here's a picture of what don Juan was saying. It's very difficult to visualize all the stuff in the books, UNTIL you get to see it with your own eyes.
then it all starts to be so internal consistent, you realize that what Carlos said when asked if he made it all up, is very true.
He said, "I couldn't have made it up! I'm not that intelligent."
Anyone know if "the barrier of perception" = "the wall of fog"?
There's "NO barrier of perception" as far as I know.
We've proven that. And Carlos never mentioned it in private classes.
It's got to be some lineage teaching aid, which is precisely what the "wall of fog" was.
A creation of Silvio Manuel perhaps. And a side effect of using the Nagual's blow to move your assemblage point.
Too bad Cholita despises me, or we could make our own "teaching aids".
Her phantom copy of our home!
We could call it "Casa de Fantasmas".
And Minx could be "Niño Fantasma".
Both appear pretty much at the same place as the wall of fog.
The moment of perceptual blankness is the barrier of perception:
He explained that when the assemblage point is moving away from its customary position and reaches a certain depth, it breaks a barrier that momentarily disrupts its capacity to align emanations. We experience it as a moment of perceptual blankness. The old seers called that moment the wall of fog, because a bank of fog appears whenever the alignment of emanations falters.
He said that there were three ways of dealing with it. It could be taken abstractly as a barrier of perception; it could be felt as the act of piercing a tight paper screen with the entire body; or it could be seen as a wall of fog.
So it's just "blanking out" when the assemblage point moves too far, too fast.
Honestly, it seems like a Nagual's blow side effect to me.
And where would you put your "wall of fog"?
Between the green zone, and the start of the red zone?
At the bottom, on the way up the front to the orange zone?
Maybe it's that tunnel in the J curve diagram.
No but since you're asking about words, I've been wondering about the phrase "throw it at the wall and see what sticks". It's a pretty common prhase, I wonder if it came from sorcery?
AIs can usually answer such questions.
ChatGPT: from an older proverb: “Throw enough mud at the wall, and some of it will stick.”
Gemini: It has two main origin stories: one rooted in a kitchen myth and the other in mid-century business culture.
The "Spaghetti Test" (The Literal Origin)
Madison Avenue Advertising (The Figurative Origin)
In the 1950s and 60s, the phrase became a staple of American corporate slang, specifically within the high-pressure world of advertising agencies (the "Mad Men" era).
Grok: Said pretty much the same and drew this without asking. Careful of Grok. The man might be naked in it's 8th rendition of the same picture.
