The first book I read was A Separate Reality. It doesn't matter.

The first four books. Carlo's conversations with Don Juan are immensely enjoyable.

No worries, the previous ones are not going anywhere.
Just read them in order if you are interested. The only book that you may read later is “eagle’s gift”. Also, the extra books from all the witches are to be read afterwards.
That's a depressing one where don Juan has left, and the new lineage (Carlos and the apprentices) has fallen apart, and is fighting.
It's part of "The Rule", but you don't find out until the next book.
One thing you can learn in second ring of power, is how adding witches to sorcerers creates magic neither would have been able to do on their own.
I have a post on that today but it might go into the other location to which the subreddit is moving, at least partially.
Reddit has become incompatible with sorcery.
Also, in that book there's some examples of how sorcery doesn't fully take place in this world.
So you might do something amazing involving flying through the sky, or walking into a portal to another place, but later on you end up back where you started with no explanation for how you got there.
Or whether you really just did what you experienced.
There's good stuff in that book, but one might say it's the "low spot" in the 20 books and publications.
Dan, where is the subreddit moving? Where should we register to maintain our connection to witchcraft?
I didn't arrange it, so I don't know what kind of schedule they have.
I'm sure Techno will announce it when it's working well.
Also it's likely this subreddit will still be around, since we aren't going to let bad people take it over and cheat others. Imagine the horrors this place would end up with, if we simply abandoned it.
But reddit can't be trusted anymore, with something this precious.
As far as I understand, someone is using open source software to make a new discussion group not censored or monitored by anyone.
And Grok claims the software is much better than reddit. Allows more of everything. And no AI censorship running around misunderstanding things.

Thank you, this is great news! After I found this subreddit two months ago and started practicing in a dark room, it would be a shame to lose touch with those who were able to manifest real magic.
I've been practicing Tensegrity in the light for years, and only a few times in the dark. I spent time searching for my hands in dreams, seeking out-of-body experiences. I contemplated during the day. I walked the streets with a gait of power.
And the funny thing is, I've seen fluffy purple clouds in the dark many times, seen small flying specks of blue and yellow, seen whitish fog in the dark, seen golden and reddish rings, and once even saw a spinning yin-yang symbol in purple and black…
And every time, I dismissed these experiences as something that bothered me.
Idiot! Why didn't I meet anyone sooner who could tell me that these effects aren't a hindrance to stopping internal dialogue, but rather that they are the REAL effects of stopping internal dialogue?!
And they get MUCH more vivid!!!!!
Those purple blobs begin to form a blue ball around you which can also be "formed" using Tensegrity, into a copy of yourself.
Or a "version" of yourself that's more useful.
You can visibly see it, while doing tensegrity passes that are designed to shape it.
Thus, don Juan said that the new seers prefer the "blue ball of energy" as their energy body, implying the old seers would form it into something more sinister.
Like those little werejaguars they liked to portray as being held in your hands.
Altar 5 has one. Of course, we can't say for sure it's a reference to making a werejaguar copy of yourself.
But you CAN. That's good enough for me.
I was playing with a multitude of possible ways to use the energy body last night, unable to figure out which should be paired with what passages from the books, or from lectures Carlos and the witches gave.
