I was dreaming and found myself looking through the Castaneda discord channel. A witch was casting spells in general chat.
When I looked at the message, a 3 dimensional pattern started to emerge from the screen. People seemed impressed by this. It was much clearer and brighter than other elements of the dream. Scintillating lines of yellow, green and blue, similar to a peacock feather, enamated outward with the visage of a fish or guppy embedded in it. It seemed to be *energy generating*.
I promptly kept scrolling.
My reasoning is that I had done nothing to "earn" such an experience, therefore it must have been a trap.
Should I have kept staring?

You didn't tell us if you were aware you were dreaming and therefore if you had found your hands on purpose. So I assume it was a simple dream. In that case you never know but you could say it might be an inorganic being or anything. Yet it doesn't matter since it was a simple dream.
In the case of sleeping dreaming you could have kept staring and intent to actually see it. See what this is.
Better to start with Darkroom and get some control there with inorganic beings ect and after seeing how you can get a hold of them on sleeping dreaming. It's safer like that.
Thank you I agree that coming from more sobriety would be a safer option for engaging unknown inorganic beings
There's something going on in the last week. I keep ending up in the phantom copy of this subreddit.
Even doing tensegrity with others.
But we've had activity in there before, and it's certainly not a path to learn sorcery.
You have to do that first.
I did get the impression of Jade running away from me, probably thinking, "oh no not another new guy attuning to me through the videos 🤦♀️"
But this morning during practice I did get a feint bluish turquoise uhhh.... "puff", to use your terminology, that suddenly made me think of Jade. So I wonder if she has put out some kind of intent to guide new people to the phantom sub/discord after finding her videos.
We've had a person or two who only saw green puffs. Athina's were closer to magenta last time I asked.
And those who get advanced can request color changes (on a good day). There's potentially an "intent delay" of 5 or 10 seconds, but then all of the puffs take on the requested color until your attention gets distracted and you look away.
It's your own energy body. Normally it runs around in dreams.
So it's not surprising that if it comes out into the "real world", it can do color changes.
In the deep red zone along the J curve, you can look at the puffs and then pull out what's "under them". Which I suppose will always be a different color.
It can also do different people, and if you merge with it that's how shapeshifting takes place.
You can literally shrink, turn into a behemoth, or turn into a fly and zip away.
Just don't get the impression as all beginners seem to do (almost surely from Asian make believe magic) that if you "can do" something, then you have "mastered" it and can repeat it.
You can repeat playing with the puffs. Or with the whitish light, or with silent knowledge videos.
But you can't repeat specifically transforming into a frog.
Until you have a clean link to intent, which takes a lot of practicing.
Just don't do that practicing in the red zone. That's what doomed Julian (and La Catalina?).
Wolf sex...
But having sex in shapeshifted form doesn't doom everyone. I suppose it's just how many times you did that.
Taisha had crow sex with don Juan.
My theory is, it's the women... Not the men.
Men are just too stupid to figure out who actually initiates stuff.
Thus in one location in the books you hear one of the senior witches, such as Clara or old Florinda, say in regards to don Juan and sex:
"It doesn't work anymore!"
And laugh.
I don't believe she meant don Juan got too old for sex.
My interpretation is, you can't manipulate him with sex anymore.
Witches do that.
One time Cholita left her diary out for me to read. I won't turn pages. She's a corn kernel magic witch.
But if she leaves it out and it's open, I'll read it.
One time I read, "Seduced Daniel Today. Now I need to..."
Obsessing over dreams is likely a false path to self-deception. Even if it was truly a lucid dream, where you intentionally remembered finding your hands, it's still not much of an accomplishment. Take it easy and continue your practice
Obsessing is probably not ideal, i agree, but I'd like more control. And to stop being unconscious because that's when I get myself into trouble.
