Deliberate Horizontal Shifts

Someone asked about that pink haze people who practice darkroom often see. Best answer is that it's possibly your crusted energy, stuck to the inside of the luminous shell.

And it can indeed lead to tiny dreams floating around you. But by the time you can perceive that your "blue ball of energy" body will have formed, and the pink haze won't be so easy to find.

So best to play with that stuff when you have an Ally around to help out, in the green zone along the J curve.

As they have always done for sorcerers, the Allies channel silent knowledge to you before you can reach it yourself. Such as the talking lizards ceremony. Or the mushroom shaped people.

So they can help you generate silent knowledge, from sights seen mostly in the green zone on the J curve.

That energy to the left and right is very difficult to visually "see" well enough to verify what Taisha said about it being different. But the very process of trying to feel that by grabbing it, leads to better control over where your assemblage point is shifted, horizontally.

And that leads to deliberate mood control. You can use that type of assemblage point control to give yourself a "boost" once in a while.

Which Carlos mysteriously elaborated on in his final books, with stories about how you can do a little Tensegrity movement to get a burst of speed.

Perhaps he meant that in a way that's incomprehensible to us, until you can literally do that yourself.

At any rate, this Esalen not-doing is valuable and super easy to do. And the benefits will grow over time.

This is interesting timing. Just last night I wasn't sure if I had some kind of "night vision" or if I was delusional. It was like very feint moonlight except slightly pink in tone. It filled my field of vision moreso than just the room, but I could definitely see my physical items and hands.

Which is bizarre because it was one of the darkness nights yet. Not sure if this is the same pink fog you mention but interesting none the less.

It's part of the same range of perceptions. So it's a good sign!

Sometimes it even seems like you can see the room in absolute darkness, like lineage members could according to an account in the books.

But if you try to take advantage of your "night vision", you soon find you can't.

It's a "phantom copy of the room".

Just be warned, most of the magic in sorcery is hidden from us due to the complexity of this topic, which kind of fools our common sense.

And causes us to dismiss real magic, because it doesn't seem like you could profit from it.

Seeing the room in complete darkness is like that.

You figure "Man, I can't impress my friends with this because what I'm seeing isn't actually my room."

But wait...

There's that "4th gate of dreaming" where your sleeping version has to "wake up" in the REAL copy of the room.

I once woke up 10 times in a row certain it was the real copy, only to find out later that it was yet another phantom version. On the last of those I even took a shower and drove to work, where along the side of the road I saw a dinosaur or something crazy like that.

Until then, I really believed I had finally woken up in the real world.

Likewise, the room you can see in absolute darkness as whitish light on surfaces, is a phantom room.

So what???

Who gets to see a phantom copy of their room?

No one I've seen anywhere I looked. There's nothing real out there.

We shouldn't eagerly take a cookie and begin to devour it, only to then spit it out in disgust because it's not chocolate chip.

Peanut butter is better than no cookie at all.

>I once woke up 10 times in a row certain it was the real copy, only to find out later that it was yet another phantom version.<

Getting lost in the emanations has always been a fear of mine.

Isn't there a way to see if you're in a real copy?

By shifting into reverie while awake. Then gazing at an object in your perception and caressing it with your eyes.

Exploring it with your feelings.

And if the feelings are returned to you, you are in a real copy of reality??

If I remember right, one of the witches used a version to test the track of dreams.

The problem is, whatever position your assemblage point is in can seem "real".

Especially inside sleeping dreams.

The same happens in the second attention.

I don't recall now what it was, but I was gazing into infinity last night trying to induce streaming timelines, and "saw" something which seemed very meaningful at the time.

But then later, I realized I was looking (just as an example) at an enchilada.

It was the "Enchilada of Truth" I suppose. And how stuff leaked out of the side, gave it the deep meaning it seemed to have.

I couldn't detect it until the next day, when I thought about something I could post. And realized that certainly wasn't it, even though looking at an enchilada floating in the air "revealing things" to you is pretty amazing magic.

I often have this effect of seeing a room, especially when I am gazing the darkness for a long time, and then lie down on either side and close my eyes. Almost always, I immediately begin to see "MY" room and my hands. As a rule, landscapes and voices begin to appear from the same position, and then I often just fall asleep.

Deliberate mood control sounds very useful!

Can I ask which muscles are we recommended to contract? And in the picture on the upper right, what is a 'physical system addict'?

Thank you!

Just grab some emanations is all Taisha seems to have said.

I tend to squeeze my hand into a fist, but then i remember she never said to do that, and so I try to pretend they're too thick to close my hand.

But it's a not-doing, so being unsure of what you're supposed to be doing is part of the technique.

The unexpected behavior causes "all sorts of unused emanations to glow". There's an explanation of "not-doings" in the books that uses words like that.

The technique seems to cause your awareness to focus on there being "emanations" to the left and right, and perhaps gives you some control over where you focus?

Or it might "hook you" to sorcerers of the past, who also used this technique.

Someone will have to master time travel to get more data, unless the witches come back.

>what is a 'physical system addict'?

I've pissed off too many women to label it as "Yoga". But I was trying to contrast the green zone high of meditation, with the green zone high of physical movements that cause the same kind of result.

In fact, Yoga gets you to the green zone. The same as meditation.

Especially their "rest period" at the end.

You can easily be fooled into thinking "it's working!"

When in fact, joggers high is better than that.

And no one claims you can jog into heaven.

Thanks again. Ill just do her not-doing even if I don't know if im doing it correctly.

I prioritize recap tensegrity and silence but I lift weights as a mundane hobby (no claim of magic), I was worried I would have to quit 😀.

That not-doing might work out for you, since it's 100% different than darkroom.

I was trying to understand why it works, and it seems to be because you focus your awareness on the idea that you are inside a luminous shell filled with fibers, and you try to grab and feel them on both sides.

That alters how your awareness flows.

The result is NOT subtle, but maybe you have to be seeing the emanations already to notice how that not-doing alters things.

I suppose it's possible to scour the books and come up with a series of techniques that don't involve what people normally do.

Likely those would come from the women's books, mostly.

But Pablito seems to have glued a rear view mirror to his head, so that he could walk backwards.

Is there a copy of the flyer pic in the sub?

[-]
u/danl999 3 points 2026-08-06 20:00

Probably, but good luck finding it.

I looked on google images, but they're all faked up.

This picture had an odd shape for the thing itself, not a flying saucer shape like people now portray it. It perhaps looked more like the little UFOs following our navy. Like a mechanical device.

It might have showed up in a 1980s documentary...

And as I recall, there were people walking up the steps of the pyramid, like a normal tourist day. It was above the top.

I wonder if Tony took that picture the same day Jacobo visited his "Casa Tibet" temple?

Man... What an attention seeker Tony was. And Jacobo too.

"Casa Look at me, me, me, Tibet".

No wonder Carlos always called him "Tony Lama". I actually thought that was his name, until a while after Carlos died.

Of course, in private classes when Carlos had an inner circle women show us the picture, he claimed she took it.

And then the look on her face indicated she didn't, but wouldn't admit it now.

Normal behavior in our lineage... Re-describing people's histories.

Cholita used to do that, back when she was willing to talk to me for more than 5 seconds.

She never gave out details about her real life. Someone taught her to be that way. Likely Florinda.

Doesn't seem too dishonest to change your history, once you can stream new timelines and realize the one we're in now, is just where we got "stuck". And that possibly you could modify it at will, the way one of the women's books said one of the lineage elders could. That he could change any aspect of reality.

Carlos also once said he brought another woman to that bench in the park in Mexico, and she saw don Juan. Long after don Juan was supposed to be gone.

Which is entirely possible. I've run into don Juan too.

But Carlos didn't mention that it was not the physical copy of don Juan.

No beginners should worry.

Unlike popular criticisms, Carlos took just about ANYONE he could get to go, to see don Juan.

People just usually turned it down because don Juan wasn't fabulously famous yet.

Michael Harner turned it down, and later said he regrets it.

At one point I counted 11+ who saw don Juan in person.

But it would take me a little while to remember the list.

The problem with the list is, anyone hearing it that hated Carlos, would say "That one doesn't count. That next one also doesn't count. And that new one doesn't count."

You can't please the critics.

Because if Carlos was telling the truth, their life sucks and is completely pointless.

Ai found this - looks like it could be fake or scan of a fake scan, or real, or something similar that’s real. I dunno. Doesn’t much matter, I was just curious.

People seeing DJM, are seeing their Tonal’s interpretation of DJM. Similar to when DJM showed CC and 3 apprentices his not-doing and they saw him as a pirate or fryer. Until you can see energy or silent knowledge your influenced by your Tonal and its interpretation?

Notice that this picture seems to be from some printed publication. Or else why is it black and white, and has vertical grain?

That might explain why Carlos said that the woman showing us, "snapped the picture".

Maybe she did!

From a newspaper or magazine.
