Here’s the rest of the story behind the OP.
...There are only two things that I know of which happened on October 3, 1968; my actual birthday and this passage from the 1971 book ‘A separate reality’ by Carlos Castaneda.
When I first read this book I was 25 years old and was busy exploring who I was as a person and where if at all I belonged in the World.
Needless to say if you have read the books by Carlos you will immediately understand the individual significance of such a personal discovery within these works.
When I first read this chapter I was shocked, it seemed to me that spirit was pointing a finger in my general direction as if the content and context of the lesson was intended just for me. Silly I know and self important it sounds.
This chapter written the day I was born is incredibly powerful, literally changed my life and always makes me take pause.
Best birthday present spirit could give.

Yet you propose an interesting concept.
The closest I’ve come to viewing Carlos with a different perspective is though the book Encounters with the Nagual by Armando Torres
