I suspect it's the only real change we can make in ourselves.
So while it seems that there are many different meditation schools and techniques, they're really all the same.
It's just how pure they are, in seeking internal silence.
Unfortunately, a meditation school would go out of business if they just cut to the chase and got rid of the complicated techniques.
So people end up going much slower using a technique which only alters the internal dialogue, but doesn't actually teach them to stop it.
In most cases, those techniques will never get them to the goal.
Freedom of perception. With real magic.
Anyone who's gone from meditation school to meditation school, searching for a place where it actually results in their supposed goal, will almost surely have noticed that no one made it.
And that the explanations they're given, on top of whatever technique they're using, actually block the progress of students.
For instance, some Buddhists are worried about damnation if they play with spirits.
They have it all. Just read the Fire Kasina texts.
But to make it into a business, severe limitations are put onto the students, and over the centuries they simply got used to those.
Zen people are famous for denying you could break the laws of physics. They really get into arguing against that idea, as if it were their duty to dispel misconceptions about Zen.
If you keep pressing them, and remind them of Buddhist texts saying otherwise, eventually they'll change to argument to, why would I want to do that?

I really dont know of any people that go to a pay school for this stuff.
My information on how to do the subject mainly comes from 150-300 year old books. And a few magick books not to mention dream yoga. Which has none of those hangups.
By the way got some things to change by looking at them and asking them to change.

People had different priorities 300 years ago. 21^st century concerns are not at all esoteric, and the ones who still do have such interests are often just (or even more) as interested in community than actual self discipline and exploration.
Often that community vibe...and if it continues long enough tradition...becomes a placebo for what the aspirant was originally seeking, reconnection to their true self.
Seeing that repeated in currently operating public group after group would make anyone jaded...

Did you find any authentic magic books from hundreds of years ago?
I have a moderate collection of old books on magic, and I learned that authentic ones are very hard to come by.
Even in Esoterica, you can see that most are just written to sell books.
In particular, an authentic Grimoire would be interesting.
The only one I know of is the Book of the Demons of Akkad.

Easiest to find is the magus. I found a copy of that many years ago.
Francis Barret's The Magus is a compilation of magic, alchemy, and accounts of historical magical adepts, which copies extensively from Agrippa's The Books of Occult Philosophy, The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy, and the Heptameron. Read the theosophical works from the 1880's-1910 as well. They go into some things.
I have some others but would need to pull them out of storage.
I have not looked for Book of the demons of Akkad. But it's been a while. Think I shall look around now for it. Always interesting in Babylonian and Akkadian things.
Big university libraries have lots of these. How I got a hold of the original copy of the golden bough.
There is some good shamanism things written by anthropologists. Especially about siberian shamans.

You won't have any luck with the Demons of Akkad Grimoire.
Aside from being 2500 years out of print, it was scratched on unfired clay tablets, probably in Paleo Hebrew or some variant designed for scratch marks.
It's impossible to read except by an expert.
And the experts won't touch it. I've tried and tried.
I think the university system shuns anyone who specializes in that kind of translation. And you'd have to specialize in it for decades, to put it back together.
Rumor has it, the book was cursed by God, never to be re-assembled.
Rumor also has it, that the giants of Enochian times (pre-flood) are the ones who created the knowledge contained in that book.
The Akkadian's themselves claim to have crawled out of the flood waters, to come into being.
Daoism comes from those people. They had real sorcerers.

I have "Sargon The Magnificent", but I don't recall if I have the Book of Giants.
Carlos himself told us to study the bible. He said, “Really study it!”
So I did.
I was kind of naïve, and did everything he told us to. Now of course I’m happy I did.
For those afraid of Christianity, don’t be that way! It’ll only make you into a victim.
Just assume all religions are not-doings. They all have super cool magical stuff going on. They all have spirits, they all have prophets with super powers, they all have other worlds you can visit.
Religions are windows into the thinking of sorcerers in times past, even if they weren’t called sorcerers.
Try this: Buddha = Magician. Jesus = Qabalist. Laozi = Power Plant Sorcerer.
And you can pick up techniques. I recreated the technique of the Witch of Endor, just because I read about it in the bible, and realized how it could be done.
In addition to the classical parts of the bible, you also have commentaries and additions.
You’ll never understand the bible without the commentaries. Especially those from the 1800s. Obsessive people studied them night and day, and you can never compete with how much work they did, learning what it actually says in the bible.
The “additions” are also wonderful. You have to remember, there was big money in having your own bible book that no one else had.
You could go from village to village collecting donations. In fact, that’s how the early Christian church was started. With single books from the new testament being hand carried around.
So a lot of stuff was added on, and those are called, “Apocrypha”.
That doesn’t mean they’re useless. Typically, someone who created one did exactly what the me-too naguals do. They found some unanswered question from the “real” books, and created a tantalizing answer.
And that answer incorporated traditions in the area, which are lost to us now.
So even Apocrypha have a taste of sorcery of past times.
You can usually figure out if it’s Apocrypha because they make mistakes.
Like saying wine was stored in barrels, when at the time the story was based on, wine was stored in animal hides.
Or mentioning a coin that didn’t exist when the story supposedly took place.
There's an apocryphal book of Adam, which is interesting. I assume it's made up, but the conjecture is wonderful.
The idea is, Adam was in a garden with fruit (Eden). And just before making Adam, god noticed he didn’t have a man to till the fields.
So Adam was a farmer. And he was taught animal husbandry and blacksmithing so he could make tools. Which gave the eventual Jewish tribe a huge advantage over the locals.
Note: if you think Adam and Eve were the first people, you’ve been hoodwinked by churches. Just read the story line, and don’t mess with it. Adam was an afterthought. The world was already populated with hunters and fishermen. Adam was made on the 8th day, not on the 6th.
Which explains how Cain got a wife in the land of nod. If you hear a person arguing about the bible mention that as a problem, they don’t have enough knowledge to even be worth talking to. They’re just venting their fussiness.
If you retain fussiness about religions, you’ll have a much harder time assembling another world.
As for the giants, in case anyone’s curious about it, legend has it some of the angels refused to be born of woman. They became "the fallen angels".
It happened because there was turmoil in heaven when everyone was created directly in the first place.
All people that would ever live were already alive before Genesis. As angels.
But they had no families, no childhood, and most importantly, no empathy.
Children only learn to be nice through hardship and reprimand by stronger beings.
The original angels had none of that. So they were like super spoiled children who grew up to be bad people.
Angry politics in heaven lead to endless war.
I see hints that they were extremely cruel to animals also, possibly even messing with dinosaurs.
There's a human footprint out there next to dinosaur footprints. Except that, someone took a sledge hammer to it.
That’s a recurring theme in the Judeo/Christian world. Someone finds an artifact that could prove a bible story, and someone else destroys it.
To solve the endless war in heaven (which was on earth at the time), God flooded the earth (probably with ice this time) and wiped out all they'd done, so they could start over.
Everyone had to take a birth if they wanted to avoid the lake of fire on judgement day.
You had to have something to judge! If you didn’t, you defaulted to be erased from history.
The worst of the bad angels decided to have sex instead of taking a birth.
Using space ships (see Ezekiel), they came down and attempted to wipe out the blood line of Messiah, by making sure all humans were part bad angel.
They also taught the people how to make weapons of war, and the women to gussy themselves up with jewelry and makeup (See second book of Enoch).
The offspring of those fallen angels were giants.
I guess the DNA wasn't compatible.
The oddest thing about that story is, there's evidence for it.
Not very good evidence.
Just doorways from that period, that are far too high.
And helmets that are far too big.
Someone even found a giant body, but it disappeared from the place they were studying it.
Some mystical Christians say that Cain, after killing Abel and being “marked” by God to protect him, formed the cult that eventually led to Rasputin.
That cult also lives under that mark, so they’re essentially unstoppable.
And that cult, or at least people who claim to be of that cult, is out there.
And still destroying relics that could convince people the bible stories are true.

This is interesting. From Wikipedia. It's talking about where Barret got his info.
He was early 1800s, before the huge esoteric book corruption period.
Toward the end of the 1800s, people started making stuff up left and right, because there was big money in it.
Like Castaneda “me-too” books. Same thing back then.
But not nearly as much in 1800. From Wikipedia:

About demons.
I haven’t seen any! And I ought to be able to do that.
What I have seen, are inorganic beings who like to portray demons.
A russian witch wrote to me, plagued by a demon she could summon.
As it turned out, it was in fact merely an inorganic being, and all she had to do was change the mood, to remove the threat.
Since you can coerce them into becoming a kitten, they aren’t that scary.
Interesting that Barrett puts down demons by associating them with witches.
What snobbery! I’ll tell Cholita on him. Some of my best friends are witches.
And then he goes on to criticize people seeking any knowledge outside our limited world, calling them deluded.
I had a Zen guy say the same thing to me a week or two ago.
In all circles, sorcery is forbidden. Even where it ought not be.
The part of that Wikipedia paragraph that interests me is, demons are, in their purest form, associated with emotions.
Not with red pajamas and pitch forks. That’s Chinese imagery, which mixed in because the Greeks picked it up, and the Judeo/Chrisitan populations passed through Greece.
Inorganic beings love to feed off emotions.
So maybe Binsfield is merely describing which emotions they can feed on best, without realizing they aren’t specialists.
Except of course, that whole concept is sort of plagiarized from the old testament books of Kings.

Interesting notes. I am familial with the bastardization of any spiritual book in the 1860- and since.
My exp with demons is tha they can be good indifferent or evil.
The ones I have dealt with are hierarchical. With a clear line of who is in charge.'Kings is a fun book. I have just currently been reading the various translations of it.

That means you can do it again.
But this time, stare it down until it either goes away, or reveals what's inside.
Using that technique, you can find a scout. That's 2nd gate stuff.
And the process of doing that, is 1st gate stuff.
By the time you can find a scout, you'll be capable of sleeping inside the dream, which is 3rd gate stuff.
I hope I got that right.
Sleeping dreaming is not my thing.
You could also learn to make one change while awake, staring at hypnogogic images in the dark.
Both use the same technique. It's essentially based on the fact that you can't read text in dreaming. It keeps changing.
That's true of all things in dreaming.
Except for scouts.
I had a little herd of scouts in dreaming this morning. It's debatable whether I was actually asleep. But it was what I could classify as "sleeping dreaming". Waking dreaming is like an experiment. Sleeping dreaming is like a mini-series.
I've been accumulating scouts over the years. As you can imagine, after many years their "shape" is very very pleasing. I don't have to coerce them anymore, they know what I like.
They're quite pleasant to have around. Being female as most scouts are, they'll do anything as long as you hang out with them.
They stabilize the dream and give you friends to interact with. They can even give advice if you ask.
Weird advice. They go from fun loving, to very serious, just by asking them a question. It alters the mode of interaction.
It's a little hard to remember the interactions though. I found 3 of my scouts sitting naked in mud on the side of the road. I vaguely remember they were having a picnic, and someone spilled something. So they went into the mud to get clean.
But more likely is, the world of the inorganics is somehow associated with water, and by getting me to sit in a liquid with them, they were moving me closer to begin captive in their world.
They were trying to capture Carlos that way, in his final days.

I guess I'm a bit of a mutant then, because I clearly remember reading entire pages of text during sleeping dreaming, and comprehending it; even turning the page and continuing. I had no clear recall of what it was about upon waking, just a vague inkling.
It was in English (my native language), and happened many times.
This was years ago, and my sleeping dreams must be quite far afield now as I almost never remember them upon waking.

I'm just finishing up the extra video interviews I uploaded to YouTube from the Enigma of a Sorcerer documentary. In one Melissa Ward is talking about how Kylie was afraid of water...even going as far as to refrain from bathing.
If they don't change, you found a "real" place in dreaming. That's why the text didn't change. Remember Carol's account of Carlos getting excited looking at a newspaper in another world. He somehow "knew" it was real.
Maybe because the text didn't change.
I've never seen anything that won't change in dreaming, unless it was connected to a scout.
Or, you're confused in the dream and it did change, but you had the impression it did not. That would be similar to if you wake up in your own room in dreaming and get excited because you're sure you finally reached the 3rd gate. But on waking you realize it wasn't your room. It was some place you lived 30 years ago.
In other words, don't trust your rationality too much in dreaming. Bring in that Ferengi Merchant mind if you find something like this again.
Can you even write stuff down on that paper, and it remains in place?

I almost think this is an attention getting device, a sort of "poor baby", except that you get to pretend you're a magical poor baby me.

I encounter this with people who want to write to me. For a period (a very boring period) all they want to talk about is the problems they have, practicing sorcery. What if this happens??? I saw something scary...
Geez... Good news is, after I'm forced to insult them, and if they don't go away, they grow up in a month or two.
Instead of avoiding water, Kylie should have become an Olympic diver! She had a hook to inorganic beings!
Wouldn't it be better to run into a demon, than never to see anything outside this reality?
The whole craziness Melissa describes sounds to me like Carlos engaging them in involuntary not-doing, to disrupt their routines.
Or more likely, Carlos went along with whatever might have helped the women, the same way I tolerate Cholita's craziness. I'm just hopeful for her learning to do real magic on demand, in the midst of the madness.
Imagine if I had 2 Cholitas in my house. I'm sure there would be clothes in odd locations all over the place.
But in fact, Zen masters are famous for doing even worse things than scaring chacmools with water.
For instance, cutting someone's arm off, because that act would enlightenment them at that precise moment. I believe Jung related that account.
At any rate, it's surely better to give up the "impeccable warrior" thing.
It leads to this kind of craziness. Those were "impeccable warriors" that
Melissa was describing!
That's how they actually behave in the real world. They aren't like don Juan and group.
How about a "wine guzzler" ethical system where wine guzzlers know death is coming soon due to their excessive drinking, and that they're worthless idiots.
So they work really hard to make up for it.
That way, you don't go into the bathroom and see Kylie's panties circling the drain in the shower.

Not in all cases. Sometimes people just have some pure curiosity and striving to know more about the sorcery, maybe want to share some experiences and get comments on them.. On the other hand, poor baby syndrome is really widespread thing, and most likely many of those who write to you have this common trait.

The real problem is that they want to make inventories and believe that's how you learn sorcery.
Their inventory might be elegant or it might be fussy, but the problem to me centers on how they believe you can learn things.
If you’re learning to be a doctor, or to program computers, or to be a short order cook, inventories are in fact how you learn those trades.
But making inventories is harmful to sorcery.
It’s kind of amazing that I get to say that!
The whole thing about making inventories seemed kind of odd when I first read it in Carlos’ books. But he was dead on.
It’s like this: you have to stop that internal dialogue (at least, the men have to). And thinking more about stuff, even sorcery stuff, won’t help that.
Let me give an example. Since I learned to see the tensegrity movements, and discovered that Carlos was telling the truth about how they redeploy energy, everyone wants to know what a specific movement will do.
That’s a desire to create a new inventory. It seems logical. If you know that at one point in the movement energy whirls around your stomach, maybe you can watch closely to see it.
Or maybe you can give the hand a little twist during the movement, to get even more energy to whirl around.
Unfortunately, sorcery doesn’t work that way.
Once you begin to let go of the Tonal (your normal ability to pay attention to things, which is highly distorted by the concepts in your mind), you’re in uncharted territory.
Uncharted territory means, there isn’t enough intent to set what you’re going to perceive. You’re sort of looking for stray intent, in the air. And keep in mind, at any location in the world you can extract any kind of intent you like, even changing worlds instantly.
There’s no limits on what might happen during tensegrity.
If there are any, you created them yourself.
The tensegrity moves do in fact produce movement of puffs of light, and fine lines of light, and in general you might be able to comment on how they look.
But what happens specifically, a given time you do it, varies wildly.
It’s as Carol Tiggs said about Carlos and her visiting that world where they actually aged over time. Carol admitted that their view of that world probably doesn’t match the view of the inhabitants.
Their prejudices got combined into what they were perceiving. Or to put it another way, the inventory of their daily life altered their perception of that other world.
When you are seeing the energy of tensegrity, there’s an endless number of things that can happen. Some because redeployed energy can move the assemblage point elsewhere, and some because our intent can materialize anything we happened to be thinking about a while before.
Last night I was doing the 2nd dreaming pass from the Westwood series.
I’m used to a little cloud forming in front of me, and a dream materializing inside it. I use it as a warmup to get the colors in the darkness to produce hypnogogic images, which are much easier to use to move your assemblage point into heightened awareness.
But this time a hypnogogic head, my new mushroom spirit, flew towards the place I normally see the little cloud and created a solid flat purple surface.
He sort of “smeared” the air with the purple energy he collected just before it could form a little cloud.
He kidnapped my redeployed energy!
I was now looking at a shelf at my stomach, not a puff of energy. It was a very bright violet color.
There was no mistaking it, that was a solid flat surface. It even gave the impression of behaving like a flat surface, with subtle echos of sounds and a palpable feeling coldness because it wasn't' radiating as much heat as the rest of the room.
It had the whole feeling of being solid matter.
The mushroom entity seemed to like it very much, and rolled around it.
It didn’t float. It sort of rolled, using the solidity of the surface. It seemed that it moves best on solid things.
The inventory someone might have created from my first description, that the technique redeploys energy from the back, which condenses into a little cloud in the front, didn’t happen at all.
And what did happen was even more interesting than before.
You have to be very silent to get things like that to happen.
Having an inventory in your mind while practicing can only do harm.
Or to borrow a Zen phrase, having “concepts” in your mind is what prevents enlightenment.
I understand what “concepts” in that regards means, but I have to wonder if the Zen people actually do.
It’s a great way to combine the internal dialogue with the latent images below it, and with the censorship facility at the bottom of it all.
But to the Zen people, that word is just part of an inventory they argue endlessly about over in the Zen subreddit.
Inventories are harming them too. I can’t even have a conversation with them, without a defense coming back, and accusations that it’s not possible to do what I’m saying.
So that inventory has held them back.
I still like it though. “Concepts” in the mind. Leave it to the Japanese to be so cryptic, and yet accurate.
Now after saying all that, I have to admit something.
For witchcraft, inventories are mandatory.
Cholita has some very complicated ones going on, and they work. Lately she’s obsessed with how to use mirrors.
And dead people.
They direct her intent.
In the case of the new inorganic being I have hanging around, who seems to be partially immune to Cholita’s charms, I could create a useful inventory to make it easier to interact with it.
I did that for the first entity I captured, the Fairy. I gave her the inventory of being a pretty little fairy.
I’d do that for this new entity, at the risk of limiting my perceptions.
But the benefit would be that it could give the entity rules of behavior. Or give my own mind rules, which the entity will follow.
I’m not sure who creates the appearance of inorganic beings. We don’t yet have enough experiences in that area, to figure it out as a group.
So let’s say, since it looked like a lion’s mane mushroom, it is in fact an inorganic being who’s a fungus.
Let’s say, inorganic beings come from one of 7 realms, but in each realm you have different beings, the same way we have different living things in our realm.
And mushroom entities like to live in a medium.
That’s why it produced that flat surface.
Mushrooms do that too. If you lift up a damp clay pot in the yard, you often see a flat web of mushroom mycelium growing under it.
The entity produced a flat surface, and then did what it does in its own world. It rolled around, spreading itself throughout the medium.
I could even postulate that once fully spread through the medium, little mushrooms might pop up. Maybe the entity can spread itself, and then reform.
There’s now a 30% chance I’ll actually see that happen tonight.
If Cholita doesn’t murder me first.
I took her grocery shopping last night, and she wanted me to explain what happens to the Devil when the rapture happens.
I gave her a careful explanation, insisting "rapture" is a creation of an ill woman from the 1800s, and isn't in the bible. And nothing bad happens to the Devil at the end, he's simply put on display for 1000 years.
I suddenly realized, Carlos telling me to study the bible came in handy, for dealing with Cholita.
She couldn't argue against my explanation, because I knew so many fine details that she was overwhelmed.
What I said didn't agree with the inventory she'd created. She asked if the Devil was a woman, then started to rant about how "Margarette" was so sexy, that she had to be sacrificed as the Devil, a virgin blood offering.
She said she’s going through some serious shit lately, proving it by scrolling some crazy people ranting text on her cellphone.
She said she has to get out of the country before it’s too late.
And when we got home I discovered that she'd poured an entire bottle of Sangria over my bed, to warn me what a murder suicide might look like.

But the reddit editor keeps failing when I try to correct that.
Unfortunately, going anywhere with Cholita these days is very risky. She's horrible to everyone we meet. It takes only 30 seconds around Cholita, to figure out that she's lost her mind.
But I would dearly love to engage her in some stalking. Find the shaman in charge at Morongo, and ask them to help Cholita.
If you think about it, Cholita is the ideal partner for me. I don't have much internal dialogue anymore, so she can't really piss me off.
She's a storage container for inorganic beings, so I can bring her around and expose other people to them.
And she can break the laws of physics, so she's potentially a very useful sideshow to help motivate people.
She's also too crazy and mean to find anywhere else to live.

That entire explanation was why Carlos didn't explain things in detail.
But I wish he'd just come out and said that.

I actually get a lot of complains from people who say they can't view reddit.

In my experience, it's not just internal silence. It's an embodied effect. Because it’s also memorizing the sense data that one perceives during inner silence. During meditation, the sound of an airplane is not conceptualized as ‘airplane’ but rather as raw sense data. This raw sense data collects in cognitive processes forming the inventory don Juan talks about. The inventory is given cohesion by the sheer will of the practitioner's unbending will.
The unbending will collects all the raw sense data by memorization. In memorizing all the raw sense data during meditation and under the unbending will’s intention to ‘ find one’s hands in one’s dreams’ eventually and with persistence, the dream body will engender and lucid dreaming experience of the inventory of associated raw sense or rather the conceptually abstract sense data.

Memorization of abstract/raw sense data with the intentional association, discipline and persistence create the slingshot of one's awareness into the unknown - to the very perceptual limits of our being.

I hadn't thought about that. I consider gazing a way to bring out the second attention.

Thanks for these. As someone who joined fairly recently, I very much appreciate you reposting links.
You see that teaching over and over elsewhere too. That's where Crowley starts in Liber 4.
That goes for the teaching of lots of mystical schools as well.
I suspect it's the only real change we can make in ourselves.
So while it seems that there are many different meditation schools and techniques, they're really all the same.
It's just how pure they are, in seeking internal silence.
Unfortunately, a meditation school would go out of business if they just cut to the chase and got rid of the complicated techniques.
So people end up going much slower using a technique which only alters the internal dialogue, but doesn't actually teach them to stop it.
In most cases, those techniques will never get them to the goal.
Freedom of perception. With real magic.
Anyone who's gone from meditation school to meditation school, searching for a place where it actually results in their supposed goal, will almost surely have noticed that no one made it.
And that the explanations they're given, on top of whatever technique they're using, actually block the progress of students.
For instance, some Buddhists are worried about damnation if they play with spirits.
They have it all. Just read the Fire Kasina texts.
But to make it into a business, severe limitations are put onto the students, and over the centuries they simply got used to those.
Zen people are famous for denying you could break the laws of physics. They really get into arguing against that idea, as if it were their duty to dispel misconceptions about Zen.
If you keep pressing them, and remind them of Buddhist texts saying otherwise, eventually they'll change to argument to, why would I want to do that?

My information on how to do the subject mainly comes from 150-300 year old books. And a few magick books not to mention dream yoga. Which has none of those hangups.

People had different priorities 300 years ago. 21^st century concerns are not at all esoteric, and the ones who still do have such interests are often just (or even more) as interested in community than actual self discipline and exploration.
Often that community vibe...and if it continues long enough tradition...becomes a placebo for what the aspirant was originally seeking, reconnection to their true self.
Seeing that repeated in currently operating public group after group would make anyone jaded...
I have always stayed away from public groups. So no idea how that stuff works. Figured they would be cultish so never bothered. Besides spirits teach me stuff at this point. So finding a physical teacher would be awesome but not very likely.
Did you find any authentic magic books from hundreds of years ago?
I have a moderate collection of old books on magic, and I learned that authentic ones are very hard to come by.
Even in Esoterica, you can see that most are just written to sell books.
In particular, an authentic Grimoire would be interesting.
The only one I know of is the Book of the Demons of Akkad.
Easiest to find is the magus. I found a copy of that many years ago.
Francis Barret's The Magus is a compilation of magic, alchemy, and accounts of historical magical adepts, which copies extensively from Agrippa's The Books of Occult Philosophy, The Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy, and the Heptameron. Read the theosophical works from the 1880's-1910 as well. They go into some things.
I have some others but would need to pull them out of storage.
I have not looked for Book of the demons of Akkad. But it's been a while. Think I shall look around now for it. Always interesting in Babylonian and Akkadian things.
Big university libraries have lots of these. How I got a hold of the original copy of the golden bough.
There is some good shamanism things written by anthropologists. Especially about siberian shamans.

You won't have any luck with the Demons of Akkad Grimoire.
Aside from being 2500 years out of print, it was scratched on unfired clay tablets, probably in Paleo Hebrew or some variant designed for scratch marks.
It's impossible to read except by an expert.
And the experts won't touch it. I've tried and tried.
I think the university system shuns anyone who specializes in that kind of translation. And you'd have to specialize in it for decades, to put it back together.
Rumor has it, the book was cursed by God, never to be re-assembled.
Rumor also has it, that the giants of Enochian times (pre-flood) are the ones who created the knowledge contained in that book.
The Akkadian's themselves claim to have crawled out of the flood waters, to come into being.
Daoism comes from those people. They had real sorcerers.

Carlos himself told us to study the bible. He said, “Really study it!”
So I did.
I was kind of naïve, and did everything he told us to. Now of course I’m happy I did.
For those afraid of Christianity, don’t be that way! It’ll only make you into a victim.
Just assume all religions are not-doings. They all have super cool magical stuff going on. They all have spirits, they all have prophets with super powers, they all have other worlds you can visit.
Religions are windows into the thinking of sorcerers in times past, even if they weren’t called sorcerers.
Try this: Buddha = Magician. Jesus = Qabalist. Laozi = Power Plant Sorcerer.
And you can pick up techniques. I recreated the technique of the Witch of Endor, just because I read about it in the bible, and realized how it could be done.
In addition to the classical parts of the bible, you also have commentaries and additions.
You’ll never understand the bible without the commentaries. Especially those from the 1800s. Obsessive people studied them night and day, and you can never compete with how much work they did, learning what it actually says in the bible.
The “additions” are also wonderful. You have to remember, there was big money in having your own bible book that no one else had.
You could go from village to village collecting donations. In fact, that’s how the early Christian church was started. With single books from the new testament being hand carried around.
So a lot of stuff was added on, and those are called, “Apocrypha”.
That doesn’t mean they’re useless. Typically, someone who created one did exactly what the me-too naguals do. They found some unanswered question from the “real” books, and created a tantalizing answer.
And that answer incorporated traditions in the area, which are lost to us now.
So even Apocrypha have a taste of sorcery of past times.
You can usually figure out if it’s Apocrypha because they make mistakes.
Like saying wine was stored in barrels, when at the time the story was based on, wine was stored in animal hides.
Or mentioning a coin that didn’t exist when the story supposedly took place.
There's an apocryphal book of Adam, which is interesting. I assume it's made up, but the conjecture is wonderful.
The idea is, Adam was in a garden with fruit (Eden). And just before making Adam, god noticed he didn’t have a man to till the fields.
So Adam was a farmer. And he was taught animal husbandry and blacksmithing so he could make tools. Which gave the eventual Jewish tribe a huge advantage over the locals.
Note: if you think Adam and Eve were the first people, you’ve been hoodwinked by churches. Just read the story line, and don’t mess with it. Adam was an afterthought. The world was already populated with hunters and fishermen. Adam was made on the 8th day, not on the 6th.
Which explains how Cain got a wife in the land of nod. If you hear a person arguing about the bible mention that as a problem, they don’t have enough knowledge to even be worth talking to. They’re just venting their fussiness.
If you retain fussiness about religions, you’ll have a much harder time assembling another world.
As for the giants, in case anyone’s curious about it, legend has it some of the angels refused to be born of woman. They became "the fallen angels".
It happened because there was turmoil in heaven when everyone was created directly in the first place.
All people that would ever live were already alive before Genesis. As angels.
But they had no families, no childhood, and most importantly, no empathy.
Children only learn to be nice through hardship and reprimand by stronger beings.
The original angels had none of that. So they were like super spoiled children who grew up to be bad people.
Angry politics in heaven lead to endless war.
I see hints that they were extremely cruel to animals also, possibly even messing with dinosaurs.
There's a human footprint out there next to dinosaur footprints. Except that, someone took a sledge hammer to it.
That’s a recurring theme in the Judeo/Christian world. Someone finds an artifact that could prove a bible story, and someone else destroys it.
To solve the endless war in heaven (which was on earth at the time), God flooded the earth (probably with ice this time) and wiped out all they'd done, so they could start over.
Everyone had to take a birth if they wanted to avoid the lake of fire on judgement day.
You had to have something to judge! If you didn’t, you defaulted to be erased from history.
The worst of the bad angels decided to have sex instead of taking a birth.
Using space ships (see Ezekiel), they came down and attempted to wipe out the blood line of Messiah, by making sure all humans were part bad angel.
They also taught the people how to make weapons of war, and the women to gussy themselves up with jewelry and makeup (See second book of Enoch).
The offspring of those fallen angels were giants.
I guess the DNA wasn't compatible.
The oddest thing about that story is, there's evidence for it.
Not very good evidence.
Just doorways from that period, that are far too high.
And helmets that are far too big.
Someone even found a giant body, but it disappeared from the place they were studying it.
Some mystical Christians say that Cain, after killing Abel and being “marked” by God to protect him, formed the cult that eventually led to Rasputin.
That cult also lives under that mark, so they’re essentially unstoppable.
And that cult, or at least people who claim to be of that cult, is out there.
And still destroying relics that could convince people the bible stories are true.

Toward the end of the 1800s, people started making stuff up left and right, because there was big money in it.
Like Castaneda “me-too” books. Same thing back then.

About demons.
I haven’t seen any! And I ought to be able to do that.
What I have seen, are inorganic beings who like to portray demons.
A russian witch wrote to me, plagued by a demon she could summon.
As it turned out, it was in fact merely an inorganic being, and all she had to do was change the mood, to remove the threat.
Since you can coerce them into becoming a kitten, they aren’t that scary.
Interesting that Barrett puts down demons by associating them with witches.
What snobbery! I’ll tell Cholita on him. Some of my best friends are witches.
And then he goes on to criticize people seeking any knowledge outside our limited world, calling them deluded.
I had a Zen guy say the same thing to me a week or two ago.
In all circles, sorcery is forbidden. Even where it ought not be.
The part of that Wikipedia paragraph that interests me is, demons are, in their purest form, associated with emotions.
Not with red pajamas and pitch forks. That’s Chinese imagery, which mixed in because the Greeks picked it up, and the Judeo/Chrisitan populations passed through Greece.
Inorganic beings love to feed off emotions.
So maybe Binsfield is merely describing which emotions they can feed on best, without realizing they aren’t specialists.
Except of course, that whole concept is sort of plagiarized from the old testament books of Kings.

My exp with demons is tha they can be good indifferent or evil.
The ones I have dealt with are hierarchical. With a clear line of who is in charge.'Kings is a fun book. I have just currently been reading the various translations of it.

So you told me to tell you when I made one thing in a dream change....I did. So what now?
That means you can do it again.
But this time, stare it down until it either goes away, or reveals what's inside.
Using that technique, you can find a scout. That's 2nd gate stuff.
And the process of doing that, is 1st gate stuff.
By the time you can find a scout, you'll be capable of sleeping inside the dream, which is 3rd gate stuff.
I hope I got that right.
Sleeping dreaming is not my thing.
You could also learn to make one change while awake, staring at hypnogogic images in the dark.
Both use the same technique. It's essentially based on the fact that you can't read text in dreaming. It keeps changing.
That's true of all things in dreaming.
Except for scouts.
I had a little herd of scouts in dreaming this morning. It's debatable whether I was actually asleep. But it was what I could classify as "sleeping dreaming". Waking dreaming is like an experiment. Sleeping dreaming is like a mini-series.
I've been accumulating scouts over the years. As you can imagine, after many years their "shape" is very very pleasing. I don't have to coerce them anymore, they know what I like.
They're quite pleasant to have around. Being female as most scouts are, they'll do anything as long as you hang out with them.
They stabilize the dream and give you friends to interact with. They can even give advice if you ask.
Weird advice. They go from fun loving, to very serious, just by asking them a question. It alters the mode of interaction.
It's a little hard to remember the interactions though. I found 3 of my scouts sitting naked in mud on the side of the road. I vaguely remember they were having a picnic, and someone spilled something. So they went into the mud to get clean.
But more likely is, the world of the inorganics is somehow associated with water, and by getting me to sit in a liquid with them, they were moving me closer to begin captive in their world.
They were trying to capture Carlos that way, in his final days.
I guess I'm a bit of a mutant then, because I clearly remember reading entire pages of text during sleeping dreaming, and comprehending it; even turning the page and continuing. I had no clear recall of what it was about upon waking, just a vague inkling.
It was in English (my native language), and happened many times.
This was years ago, and my sleeping dreams must be quite far afield now as I almost never remember them upon waking.

If they don't change, you found a "real" place in dreaming. That's why the text didn't change. Remember Carol's account of Carlos getting excited looking at a newspaper in another world. He somehow "knew" it was real.
Maybe because the text didn't change.
I've never seen anything that won't change in dreaming, unless it was connected to a scout.
Or, you're confused in the dream and it did change, but you had the impression it did not. That would be similar to if you wake up in your own room in dreaming and get excited because you're sure you finally reached the 3rd gate. But on waking you realize it wasn't your room. It was some place you lived 30 years ago.
In other words, don't trust your rationality too much in dreaming. Bring in that Ferengi Merchant mind if you find something like this again.
Can you even write stuff down on that paper, and it remains in place?
Why be afraid of an attack, when you've never actually seen any real magic?
I almost think this is an attention getting device, a sort of "poor baby", except that you get to pretend you're a magical poor baby me.
(Taisha used to say our internal dialogues were always, "poor baby me...")
I encounter this with people who want to write to me. For a period (a very boring period) all they want to talk about is the problems they have, practicing sorcery. What if this happens??? I saw something scary...
Geez... Good news is, after I'm forced to insult them, and if they don't go away, they grow up in a month or two.
Instead of avoiding water, Kylie should have become an Olympic diver! She had a hook to inorganic beings!
Wouldn't it be better to run into a demon, than never to see anything outside this reality?
The whole craziness Melissa describes sounds to me like Carlos engaging them in involuntary not-doing, to disrupt their routines.
Or more likely, Carlos went along with whatever might have helped the women, the same way I tolerate Cholita's craziness. I'm just hopeful for her learning to do real magic on demand, in the midst of the madness.
Imagine if I had 2 Cholitas in my house. I'm sure there would be clothes in odd locations all over the place.
But in fact, Zen masters are famous for doing even worse things than scaring chacmools with water.
For instance, cutting someone's arm off, because that act would enlightenment them at that precise moment. I believe Jung related that account.
At any rate, it's surely better to give up the "impeccable warrior" thing.
It leads to this kind of craziness. Those were "impeccable warriors" that
Melissa was describing!
That's how they actually behave in the real world. They aren't like don Juan and group.
How about a "wine guzzler" ethical system where wine guzzlers know death is coming soon due to their excessive drinking, and that they're worthless idiots.
So they work really hard to make up for it.
That way, you don't go into the bathroom and see Kylie's panties circling the drain in the shower.

Not in all cases. Sometimes people just have some pure curiosity and striving to know more about the sorcery, maybe want to share some experiences and get comments on them.. On the other hand, poor baby syndrome is really widespread thing, and most likely many of those who write to you have this common trait.
The real problem is that they want to make inventories and believe that's how you learn sorcery.
Their inventory might be elegant or it might be fussy, but the problem to me centers on how they believe you can learn things.
If you’re learning to be a doctor, or to program computers, or to be a short order cook, inventories are in fact how you learn those trades.
But making inventories is harmful to sorcery.
It’s kind of amazing that I get to say that!
The whole thing about making inventories seemed kind of odd when I first read it in Carlos’ books. But he was dead on.
It’s like this: you have to stop that internal dialogue (at least, the men have to). And thinking more about stuff, even sorcery stuff, won’t help that.
Let me give an example. Since I learned to see the tensegrity movements, and discovered that Carlos was telling the truth about how they redeploy energy, everyone wants to know what a specific movement will do.
That’s a desire to create a new inventory. It seems logical. If you know that at one point in the movement energy whirls around your stomach, maybe you can watch closely to see it.
Or maybe you can give the hand a little twist during the movement, to get even more energy to whirl around.
Unfortunately, sorcery doesn’t work that way.
Once you begin to let go of the Tonal (your normal ability to pay attention to things, which is highly distorted by the concepts in your mind), you’re in uncharted territory.
Uncharted territory means, there isn’t enough intent to set what you’re going to perceive. You’re sort of looking for stray intent, in the air. And keep in mind, at any location in the world you can extract any kind of intent you like, even changing worlds instantly.
There’s no limits on what might happen during tensegrity.
If there are any, you created them yourself.
The tensegrity moves do in fact produce movement of puffs of light, and fine lines of light, and in general you might be able to comment on how they look.
But what happens specifically, a given time you do it, varies wildly.
It’s as Carol Tiggs said about Carlos and her visiting that world where they actually aged over time. Carol admitted that their view of that world probably doesn’t match the view of the inhabitants.
Their prejudices got combined into what they were perceiving. Or to put it another way, the inventory of their daily life altered their perception of that other world.
When you are seeing the energy of tensegrity, there’s an endless number of things that can happen. Some because redeployed energy can move the assemblage point elsewhere, and some because our intent can materialize anything we happened to be thinking about a while before.
Last night I was doing the 2nd dreaming pass from the Westwood series.
I’m used to a little cloud forming in front of me, and a dream materializing inside it. I use it as a warmup to get the colors in the darkness to produce hypnogogic images, which are much easier to use to move your assemblage point into heightened awareness.
But this time a hypnogogic head, my new mushroom spirit, flew towards the place I normally see the little cloud and created a solid flat purple surface.
He sort of “smeared” the air with the purple energy he collected just before it could form a little cloud.
He kidnapped my redeployed energy!
I was now looking at a shelf at my stomach, not a puff of energy. It was a very bright violet color.
There was no mistaking it, that was a solid flat surface. It even gave the impression of behaving like a flat surface, with subtle echos of sounds and a palpable feeling coldness because it wasn't' radiating as much heat as the rest of the room.
It had the whole feeling of being solid matter.
The mushroom entity seemed to like it very much, and rolled around it.
It didn’t float. It sort of rolled, using the solidity of the surface. It seemed that it moves best on solid things.
The inventory someone might have created from my first description, that the technique redeploys energy from the back, which condenses into a little cloud in the front, didn’t happen at all.
And what did happen was even more interesting than before.
You have to be very silent to get things like that to happen.
Having an inventory in your mind while practicing can only do harm.
Or to borrow a Zen phrase, having “concepts” in your mind is what prevents enlightenment.
I understand what “concepts” in that regards means, but I have to wonder if the Zen people actually do.
It’s a great way to combine the internal dialogue with the latent images below it, and with the censorship facility at the bottom of it all.
But to the Zen people, that word is just part of an inventory they argue endlessly about over in the Zen subreddit.
Inventories are harming them too. I can’t even have a conversation with them, without a defense coming back, and accusations that it’s not possible to do what I’m saying.
So that inventory has held them back.
I still like it though. “Concepts” in the mind. Leave it to the Japanese to be so cryptic, and yet accurate.
Now after saying all that, I have to admit something.
For witchcraft, inventories are mandatory.
Cholita has some very complicated ones going on, and they work. Lately she’s obsessed with how to use mirrors.
And dead people.
They direct her intent.
In the case of the new inorganic being I have hanging around, who seems to be partially immune to Cholita’s charms, I could create a useful inventory to make it easier to interact with it.
I did that for the first entity I captured, the Fairy. I gave her the inventory of being a pretty little fairy.
I’d do that for this new entity, at the risk of limiting my perceptions.
But the benefit would be that it could give the entity rules of behavior. Or give my own mind rules, which the entity will follow.
I’m not sure who creates the appearance of inorganic beings. We don’t yet have enough experiences in that area, to figure it out as a group.
So let’s say, since it looked like a lion’s mane mushroom, it is in fact an inorganic being who’s a fungus.
Let’s say, inorganic beings come from one of 7 realms, but in each realm you have different beings, the same way we have different living things in our realm.
And mushroom entities like to live in a medium.
That’s why it produced that flat surface.
Mushrooms do that too. If you lift up a damp clay pot in the yard, you often see a flat web of mushroom mycelium growing under it.
The entity produced a flat surface, and then did what it does in its own world. It rolled around, spreading itself throughout the medium.
I could even postulate that once fully spread through the medium, little mushrooms might pop up. Maybe the entity can spread itself, and then reform.
There’s now a 30% chance I’ll actually see that happen tonight.
If Cholita doesn’t murder me first.
I took her grocery shopping last night, and she wanted me to explain what happens to the Devil when the rapture happens.
I gave her a careful explanation, insisting "rapture" is a creation of an ill woman from the 1800s, and isn't in the bible. And nothing bad happens to the Devil at the end, he's simply put on display for 1000 years.
I suddenly realized, Carlos telling me to study the bible came in handy, for dealing with Cholita.

What I said didn't agree with the inventory she'd created. She asked if the Devil was a woman, then started to rant about how "Margarette" was so sexy, that she had to be sacrificed as the Devil, a virgin blood offering.
She said she’s going through some serious shit lately, proving it by scrolling some crazy people ranting text on her cellphone.
She said she has to get out of the country before it’s too late.
And when we got home I discovered that she'd poured an entire bottle of Sangria over my bed, to warn me what a murder suicide might look like.

Unfortunately, going anywhere with Cholita these days is very risky. She's horrible to everyone we meet. It takes only 30 seconds around Cholita, to figure out that she's lost her mind.
But I would dearly love to engage her in some stalking. Find the shaman in charge at Morongo, and ask them to help Cholita.
If you think about it, Cholita is the ideal partner for me. I don't have much internal dialogue anymore, so she can't really piss me off.
She's a storage container for inorganic beings, so I can bring her around and expose other people to them.
And she can break the laws of physics, so she's potentially a very useful sideshow to help motivate people.
She's also too crazy and mean to find anywhere else to live.

Maybe we should focus on steps then, just to have checkpoints but not on precise descriptions of phenomena like as you explained perfectly those can bring bias and do more harm than good.
It might deserve a link in the definitions of terms, under "inventory".
But I don't know how to point to a single part of a long post with lots of replies.

I remeber the writings when scientist studied a number of yogis in the 60's. They came to the conclusion that these powers were within certain brain wave frequencies where they could quiet their mind.
In my experience, it's not just internal silence. It's an embodied effect. Because it’s also memorizing the sense data that one perceives during inner silence. During meditation, the sound of an airplane is not conceptualized as ‘airplane’ but rather as raw sense data. This raw sense data collects in cognitive processes forming the inventory don Juan talks about. The inventory is given cohesion by the sheer will of the practitioner's unbending will.
The unbending will collects all the raw sense data by memorization. In memorizing all the raw sense data during meditation and under the unbending will’s intention to ‘ find one’s hands in one’s dreams’ eventually and with persistence, the dream body will engender and lucid dreaming experience of the inventory of associated raw sense or rather the conceptually abstract sense data.
It is collecting abstract sense-data 'en masse' the creates an inventory worthy of dying for. The spirit sees the merits of your inventory and promotes the inventory into the dreaming attention. The result is that the 'en masse' method is like a slingshot that shoots your full daily awareness of who you are into a very powerful long-lasting lucid dreaming experience that will have you in awe for years.
I believe the 'en masse' method is described in Castaneda's books and in many Buddhist teachings. In these writings, the 'en masse' method is not every really detailed. But it's hidden in there and is usually learned subconsciously as one goes about embodying the practice.
Remember don Juan, just before he left, gazed at and memorized broken brick walls. The Gazing technique, where Carlos blurred his eyes and not-did his usual cognitive processes for hours? The movements of Tensegrity allow the body and mind to collect mass amounts of raw sense data in a short time .
Memorization of abstract/raw sense data with the intentional association, discipline and persistence create the slingshot of one's awareness into the unknown - to the very perceptual limits of our being.

I'm not sure I understand all that, but it sounds like you're saying that gazing could set up something else, later on.
I hadn't thought about that. I consider gazing a way to bring out the second attention.
But clearly it has to alter intent too!
