Types of Dreaming You Can Learn to Do

This is only what I could fit. 3 hours a day, you'll be doing all this.

This is only what I could fit. 3 hours a day, you'll be doing all this.

The best way to think about dreaming is in terms of the assemblage point.

This is the point at which our view of the world is created, or "assembled". It's assembled by placing the glow of awareness on a limited set of the billions or trillions of glowing fibers of awareness which intersect with our luminous shell.

The diameter of the assemblage point, normally located a bit out from the left shoulder blade, determines how much we can perceive at the same time.

One might suggest, it's about the diameter of a basketball, however Carlos once found a female guru who had a gigantic assemblage point. She used it to mislead followers.

Whatever the size, when it moves different possibilities are included in our world, while some of the ones we previously perceived are blocked from our sight.

The ideal path to move the assemblage point, if you want to learn dreaming, is like the curve of a J. Using silence and the second attention, you lure it along that path.

Eventually you get so good at moving it, you can move it rapidly across the entire curve, and burn with the fire from within. That is the 3rd attention.

As you can see on the dark man in the center, it moves down the back, under the butt, and back up the front. The goal is to move it just above the other assemblage point we have, the dreaming body's assemblage point. When in place permanently near the second attention's assemblage point, you can switch back and forth from your dreaming body to your waking body. All it takes is a glance down and a little to the right of your navel.

But you don't have to learn to do this, in order to experience the switch of bodies. Entering a dreaming portal is something relatively easy to learn, and you enter fully awake with eyes open, physically walking right through the wall of your bedroom. Or, if a portal appears, you can leap into it.

At some point your physical body trades with your dreaming body, but the transition is unnoticeable.

It's real magic!

Thank you! This description of moving the assemblage makes more sense to my mind than any other I’ve heard. Thanks for all of the info you put into this subreddit as well - it’s very insightful/helpful.

Learn to move it, and you'll be surprised how true it is.

The most important thing to remember while doing that is, nothing cool happens until it moves.

Once it moves, you can't stop the cool stuff!

Unless you get excited, in which case your internal dialogue resumes, and forces it back to normal.

I call that "the book deal mind", because most of the time the internal dialogue starts thinking about how to profit from the coolness.

That could mean sticking an eagle feather in your hat and trying to convince people to go to your workshops, making your own "Wonderful Me The Sorcerer" book, or just simply bragging about it to a friend.

Either way, it forces the assemblage point back.

I can’t move it along the J yet, but I can feel it move slightly - I can also feel the path of the J shape - not sure what that’s about. My assemblage point has moved significantly a few times, never with the intent to move it, as soon as I become aware of the difference in realities my internal dialogue goes nuts trying to catalog it. I had an experience with psilocybin where it didn’t allow the internal dialogue to come back. I don’t know if I did magic per se but my timing was impeccable, I saw a couple events before they happened that day, and I’m fairly certain I had clairvoyance for a couple of hours.

Slightly is all you need! Just keep moving it.

In fact, you can gaze at ANY weirdness, and move it all the way to heightened awareness.

Given silence.

I was doing it this morning, testing if you really need absolute darkness.

In fact, no. All you need is for it to be dark enough, including squinting your eyes, for your hand to be difficult to see.

Then just move the fingers around in that place Zuleica told us, and watch for any weirdness.

Pretty soon you’ll have inorganic beings flying around your hand.

(Given silence).

Yea, the internal dialogue is designed to put a stop to magic.

It's truly horrible! We live in an agriculture myth of close family.

It’s programmed into that dialogue, which means, sorcery is the enemy of our internal dialogue.

The agriculture myth never produces happiness, because in that "close" family, no one has any actual value.

Think about it!

If you pursue exploration of the second attention, over a lifetime you become a powerful sorcerer.

No one need ask if a powerful sorcerer has value. People would give anything to track them down and learn.

Zuleica is a good example.

In the agriculture myth, she’d end up a bag lady. Tossed out because she’s too inconvenient.

She’s disruptive to other people, so she’s no good.

But her value to a group of sorcerers is beyond measure.

Someone said that raising children was a noble endeavor.

I suppose. But that concept is part of the agriculture myth!

What does “noble” mean?

It means, even if you end up at the bottom of the gutter, other people will acknowledge that at least, you did something good.

You get the talking points of other people.

That’s it.

It’s no wonder new people come in here, and it’s obvious they will never learn sorcery.

They’re obsessed with lineages, writing their own book, or finding sorcery buddies or mates.

They’re still stuck in that myth.

I appreciate the encouragement. I’ve experienced colors while sitting in darkness, lots of yellow/some orange. It’s coincidental that you mentioned children, I’m raising one now. I’ve done a fair amount of work to decondition from societal values. Children are pretty magical, mine points out beings, that I can’t see, to me all the time.

A child raised to be more flexible in their perception is what society needs now.

But then, there's technology. So it might not matter much.

If you can see colors in darkness, you can do everything in this post.

Your kid will surely show up in a dreaming body, the way Cholita does for me.

Just remember, you only watch the colors, you don't try to expect something, because you'd do that in your internal dialogue.

Thank you for the knowledge and insight.

One thing I've learned making this is, there's no reason to explain too much.

It's not helpful.

So while I might have gone into a lot of detail about things like the yellow versus the orange part of the line, it seemed better to just split it where I guessed, then explain that probably Carlos would not have liked my choices here.

My choices are based a lot on what he lectured, but in order to show when things happen, I had make those choices very precise.

By just saying it here, I created a new inventory.

That's the problem.

But, we have such an old tired inventory these days, in the world of Castaneda. Go see what Nyei has to say about dreaming in the post that came a few days after this.

Really... Everything she said is true, and it's an achievement to acquire knowledge of sleeping dreaming.

But it's old stuff. Some people in the Lucid Dreaming forum are more advanced than that.

And they'll tell you right to your face, in an angry fashion, Carlos was a fraud.

The silence from his students is killing his work.

Or should I say, the lack of silence.

So at the risk of creating a new breed of "Castaneda Experts", I've just said what I think and experienced, rather than all the caveats.

And I've learned once again, his books are a map.

If you read them carefully, don Juan and Zuleica did the same thing I did here.

They were teaching Carlos something, it went a different direction, and so they just adopted that new direction, stating matter of factly, that's how it's done.

When really, it can be done many ways.

Keep that in mind, the next time you run into a rabid Castaneda Expert.

100% guarantee: if they insist on something from his books, they know nothing.

If they correct your experience, they know nothing.

Anyone who knows, is eager to hear other opinions on that vastness out there. No one person can explore even a tiny piece of it.

Carlos told me to stop reading his books, which turned out to be a very good thing.

I was going over something else on my hard drive and noticed his "Silent Knowledge" pdf.

I'd forgotten what it was supposed to be, and just glanced near the top, found this passage, and realized it had something I had never heard before.

It corresponds to the blue scout painting that poster.

It's about forming images on the walls of your room, using silence.

"In their continuous search for solutions and answers to their probes, the sorcerers of ancient Mexico found out that from this condition of inner silence, the awareness of man can easily leap to the direct perception of energy against the background of any given horizon. They used the sky as a horizon, as well as the mountains, or in a more reduced space, the walls of their dwelling."

Frankly, I was feeling a little uncomfortable assembling worlds on the walls of my bedroom, and reporting it here.

I was thinking how many Castaneda "experts" would become angry, and call me delusional.

After all, it's not supposed to work... They've been at it for 25 years!

Obviously it's only for talking. Puffing yourself up.

Or charging people for secret techniques involving keeping a notebook of your activities.

Is that the idea?

Russia???

It's all talk?

Unfortunately, most people who claim to want to learn sorcery are merely involved in a pissing contest.

For cash if possible.

Including former private class students who have gone Ken Eagle Feather on us.

Well, here you go...

How come you never learned to assemble worlds on your bedroom wall?

But instead changed to Vedanta, which you'll pass on for a small fee?

It's simple.

You were too lazy to learn to be silent.

If you will only learn to be silent, the world completely changes.

And you have a chance to escape the "Farmer's Mind".

It's not the fliers you need to worry about.

It's agriculture and the myths needed to support that lifestyle.

No one escapes. Family is everything, to the death.

However, if you feel like pretending, that's ok.

As long as it doesn't actually allow for escape.
