I’m so glad you posted this I couldn’t get a good pic of it from the physical books because it spanned over 2 pages. I love the four winds stuff, just covering it now in second ring of power

Tough if you’re non binary.

Then u just go out of what type of genital u had when born. Because for example don Julian had the ability to become a woman and adopt different types of personality but still he was classified as an male Nagual. This rule is not about how u act or look but what type of energy u are.

Without seeing the person involved, you could never be entirely sure. Though an informed guess is likely to be > 50 % accurate.
People are complicated and exhibit all of those traits, to varying degrees.
But we're referring to energy, not psychology. So the intellect isn't the best examination tool.

Although this is intriguing, it's one of those things that harms the Castaneda community. Thinking about classifications, finding one you can pretend to belong to, and then running around with your buddies, pretending to be a lineage.
It's like children playing a game, and the biggest bully kid gets to be don Juan, the kid who's just below him can pretend to be Silvio or Genaro, and the rest have to take what they can get.
The youngest ends up being crazy Josefina, just like the youngest girl in a group ends up being a puppy or kitten.
People especially fixate on Genaro, even fantasizing about how wonderful it would be to be him.
But just like children "setting up a game", they never actually get around to playing it. They just wanted to pretend to be someone else for a little while. And to figure out tribal pecking order.
And then there's those who fixated on being a double being, like the "Nagual" guy in speedos. Somehow he has a bunch of followers!
I've actually been asked if Miles is a double being. So that kind of thinking infects even the old timers, mostly because they never learned any actual sorcery and have to obsess over the storyline.
If you're thinking too much about this, chances are you'll never get around to putting in the hard work needed to make the assemblage point move.
On the other hand, I suspect intent tends to form groups according to the rule, so that if we had a bunch of active sorcerers, we might end up with households similar to don Juan's party.
It might be good to pay attention to that.
I have Cholita, who is like Zuleica.
If I were younger, I'd assume our home ends up looking a little bit like the one in Taisha's book.
I was offered a Zoila a few months ago, but I didn't have the stability to take her in.

Perhaps this has been true in some cases, but this was a simple harmless question that most people probably wouldn't put give more than two seconds of thought.

danl999 I know you've been a huge contributer to this sub and I often enjoy your insights, but I think you may sometimes forget people are coming in here from all different stages and although maybe not intentional, your responses might sometimes be seen as elitist gatekeeping. If this were a private class or such, I could understand, but this is just Reddit. Not everyone here is going to put in the hard work, but it's okay to sometimes.casually discuss the books for what they are: Books.

When I was young and I first started reading the first books I always notice that many people around me thought they were like either don Juan or Genero. I never identified with either one. This sorta saddened me at first but after awhile I just figured that maybe I was fated to a different path. Then I read this and I knew, literally knew, that I had lived my entire life exactly like the description of the Organizer Behind the Scene. It was truly spot on. It explained so much. I was so excited that there was a type which corresponded to my life. Now I agree, there is a lot of danger to this and a lot of wannabe's out there, (its amazing how many Naguals, the rarest of the bunch, there claim to be) and I can never be 100% sure since I still do not see. But it put me on a path to assimilate as much as I could about the warriors way. Many years have passed and I don't hold on as much to this classification but it did help me find the mystery of my being.
