Just want to say hello, and thank you Daniel Lawton that made it possible for me to find this page. First off I'm completely new to all of this and only seek to learn. I have no intentions of trying this yet. What holds me back is my two kids. And secondly the horrible career I chosen that truly shows the bad side of humanity that will not help on this path. I already see the two names in the title where I can find books to read. If anyone else would have any others to read I would be appreciative. I've already read a few threads and all I can say is WOW amazing stuff, I believe this is the missing link that others fail to mention.

I have two young kids and very little free time, and I have been able to make progress. It is slower, for sure, but it does come.

I can't make a proper darkroom, and so I just turn out the lights and close my eyes. I usually stay up to "watch TV", after the kids are in bed, and do the practice on my couch. But you can do this with your wife sleeping right next to you too. I have done it.

It's just something where you will need to catch up on your sleep first. Otherwise, you are more likely to fall asleep, before the interesting stuff shows up, when in a sleeping position.

You won't be getting up to interact with the colors, puffs or visions you see, but you will get to see them... and believe me, even that, is quite magical. It will inspire you to keep trying, and when you do have some free time then you'll be in a good position to advance the practice a bit more.

If nothing else, committing to trying it every night, will at least train your body in how to induce silence. This really is the key to everything and a consistent practice develops this, even if you are not aware of it.

Good luck!
