Sleeping direction

Why did don Juan advise to sleep towards the South East?

I don't know why but I like the South West more.

Vastness and Unknown = South

New Endeavors and Pursuits = East

Ending and Resolution = West

Difficulty and Challenge = North

Unknown and new vistas are very valued in dreaming, as opposed to personal baggage-laden dreams.

Or there may in fact be a more practical and esoteric reason for that direction.

Today I've been trying to notice the difference while waking dreaming!

There was amazing real magic in all of them.

But still didn't find any specific one.

Please elaborate Juann

Monkey!

I mean I just didn't find any visual difference between cardinal points.

When I think I found something crazy in one, I turn my head and there is another crazy thing on the other!

Sounds good!

Well, Buenos Aires' summer has rain, sun, heat, cold and wind every 3 hours.

I practice with a standing fan that seems to be about to blow me away.

Hope you have a wood stove.

To adopt a different worldview, and to aid him in sticking to the ancient sorcerer's intent.

Is this where your feet face or where your face faces lol

[-]
u/Batsavage_ 2 points 2021-02-15 11:15

the direction your head points to be specific

[-]
u/gekkohs 1 points 2021-02-15 14:34

So what does sleeping on your back count as

[-]
u/Batsavage_ 3 points 2021-02-15 15:19

Ok imagine. Your body lays down. Your body is the compass. The head is one end the feet is the second.

It doest matter if you sleep on you back side or stomach.

Your head points the same direction.

I know it was hard to understand at first but I hope you got it now.

Just imagine looking at yourself from the ceiling.

Basically it's not where your face points but where the top of your head points.

That only goes for sleeping of course.

The direction you face is also important but more when you are sitting.

When you lay it's the direction your body point.

I believe it has to do mostly with how energy flows in the universe in relation to the eagles emanations.

If recall right, Carlos had bed facing North, Dan might be able to recall Pandora layout.

In regards to South-East, that might be Veracruz direction from elsewhere in Mexico and LA.

Test multiple directions in dark room.

I never saw which direction Carlos' bed faced, but Pandora is easy to find on google if anyone is interested. You could at least see the house orientation. They sold it anyway, so it's not a violation to look at it these days.

But at Dance Home, he made a point of facing south east when he was "reading off the wall" during a lecture.

When reading off the wall on his hand, he didn't care.

However, without meaning to insult anyone, you're sounding a bit like vitamin takers.

Vitamin takers are not actually trying to fix a nutritional deficiency.

It's a hope deficiency.

Screw hope!

Work, work, work, work!!!!!!!

Given the commonality of how prevalent this is going back some 7k years. Sounds like something we need to figure out. The real reason that is. A minor help with energy... or whatever

Not the "Because they did it" response.

Both Juan and I have not been able to see a significant difference.

And I practice absolutely dazzling magic these days, most of which I can't write up in here because I'm already at the edge of believability.

I haven't seen that it reacts differently to any direction.

But Juan suggested, maybe it was a difference in "intent". That we wouldn't be able to see. You'd have to discover that over a lot of years of practicing.

Feet North-East - head South-West serves best.

[-]
u/Batsavage_ 2 points 2021-02-15 17:36

exactly :)

[-]
u/danl999 5 points 2021-02-15 17:07

Carlos did that too.

I can't find any difference. I can literally see energy on the walls, in great detail these days.

And I have yet to find anything, "directional".

Anyway, it's got to be a minor detail.

I was in crazy land most of the night. In that place, you wouldn't wish for some secret tip to help you out.

It would be like clipping coupons when you're a billionaire.

Not 100 positive but most native cultures and we are talking all over slept that way. Viking, american natives, me, ...etc My Understanding was to be up and have the first rays of light crossing your front opening.

Ehi, is there a consesus by now?

[-]
u/TechnoMagical_Intent 1 points 2024-10-17 19:37

That inner silence is more important, by far, than sleeping direction! In fact, without it there is no bona-fide benefit to any particular direction. Just vague feelings and supposition.

[-]
u/Bleighh 1 points 2024-10-18 11:23

Ehi
I realized this today as well. I was checking for sleep numbers through the Garmin app. And indeed, the Best sleep I had in term of energy recovered were shorter than how much I sleep now, but I was far more relaxed during those sleeps. Relaxed meaning with less or none thoughts. I had reached a nice point, and I want ti get Back there. I spent time with my family, and I am finding very difficult to deal with them and maintaining my inner peace. I tell myself they offer me a chance to get stronger, and I need to overcome this.

I wonder how you do deal with people and keep your energy and silence in check

[-]
u/TechnoMagical_Intent 1 points 2024-10-18 12:03

I'm still working on that one myself!

[-]
u/Bleighh 1 points 2024-10-18 12:24

How long have you been practicing if I may ask? Are you able to "see" by now?

[-]
u/TechnoMagical_Intent 1 points 2024-10-18 12:40

2000 (as a youngin') is when I read my first book by Castaneda, and 2019 is when Dan started contributing to the sub.

During those 19 years I was fairly directionless, as far as for all sorcery practice goes (the books, as a whole set, are very overwhelming when it's just you in a room!), busying myself with clearing two of the main personal issues and hangups that occupied the bulk my mental landscape.

Things that I felt were preventing me from the practice of sorcery, as it should be pursued.

I essentially thought of that work as a job. I showed up to work on it every day, with the expressed intent of eventually overcoming it.

This is how I learned discipline and perseverance.

The past 5 years have been largely spent dealing with some of the more negative side-effects from those previous years of struggle.

I'm still dialing past my stubbornness....

u/Bleighh 1 points 2024-10-18 13:51

Life long war :)

[-]
u/TechnoMagical_Intent 2 points 2024-10-18 13:59

One of the best things that we've learned by Dan's example is that even though he himself had gotten into and wasted years with what turned out to be dead end alleys in the past, once you are quite literally all in on this path...progress can occur very rapidly.

It compounds, and can make up for some of that lost time.
