General Knowledge
Sorry if the flair is wrong, I'm new here but this is probably not for new practitioners. I don't want to throw anyone off their path.
Hey everyone, I'm new here but not new to these topics. I've learned a lot already just from a few days of cursory browsing, and have discovered that in your terminology I can consistently lower my ap to right above the naval (I think, maybe the shoulder blades? I see full moving scenes through my eyelids but can never enter them, though they have been staying longer and longer). Excited to finally get into those spontaineously appearing vistas in the lights I've been puzzling over for a while, and to learn and grow with you all.
I learned of this stuff through another source though, there is a mystic philospher from the 1800s named Ludwig Klages. He speaks of reality as being composed of 'images' rather than things, and speaks in general about the nature of reality. It's really technical stuff, and often intentionally shrouded in the language of mystics. But it paints a pretty clear picture that has led me in personal study to much of the same results y'all report here.
I'd recommend reading Cosmogonic Reflections if anyone is interested. It is a very tough read though, very technical. He does not talk about dreaming or meditating technique, simply the nature of reality. He advocates for an essentially pagan metaphysics where consciousness pervades all images and the individual can (re)learn how to see through the veil of concepts into the reality of appearances. And he's a real fiesty personality, filled with passion and vigor for what he views as the true living reality that has been in essence killed by the human history of "progress" and the dominant structures of mind. Makes the reading fun, IMO.
Warning: he comes off as very racist to a modern audience. And his ideas have been misrepresented and suppressed through history.
Also, I'm willing to chat and expand on his ideas if anyone is interested. I will also be getting through the literature y'all recommend here, so maybe in the future I'll make a post showing how/if the ideas compliment each other.
Anyways, hello! Hope you have a good and fruitful weekend.
