I was dead tired after trying to sleep for hours and being repeatedly woken by my cat and got the inclination suddenly to try getting to sleep by feeling my body 'slip' instead of the usual watching imagery form to try and get a WILD, and suddenly found my self in dream after dream. Everytime though I went back to the same place and interact with the same voice, slipping into at first what was a watery environment, then down to a ancient castle like place, where I could ask questions to an omnipresent voice that was completely different than mine.
And I got the idea to use silence to remove my internal dialogue after asking a question, and it felt like the voice that answered wasn't at all influenced by my will, because I think what I was silencing wasn't just my internal dialogue, it was also letting go of the connection my mind usually has to my outside dream environment. Usually there's some level of influence and/or knowing that's omnipresent when I'm dreaming, and silencing my mind also silenced that.
The highlights of the dialogue that I can remember:
I was surprised that I was doing this so reliably and quickly when it was so hard and sporatic for me before and I got back the response that essentially it was a burst of ability because I had a breakthrough, but that it would go back to normal pretty quickly.
I wanted to not lose this reliable new ability, and I got back the response that I needed to continue to practice this every day for 13 more days to achieve that. (edit: but also the impression that this wasn't important for me to do for some reason)
I asked if telekinesis was possible to learn or if it was just a waste of time, and the response was basically yes and yes... basically why spend years learning to move a pebble when you can just pick it up and throw it, better things to do with my time.
An IOB? My subconscious merely coming through clearly? It was interesting either way, mostly in how I felt silence in more of a sense of letting go rather than just quieting my head.

You've altered the story, and will not get anywhere this way.
It's book deal thinking.
You seek human attention, not sorcery knowledge.
And you've gone down the laziest path.
Redescribing your dreams to be magic, when they're just messy dreams.
But don't be insulted. Everyone tries to do that.
10,000+ people tried to do that, and all failed to learn sorcery.
Forcing me to spend so much time here, fixing that issue...
You ought to decide if you want to learn sorcery, or want to be famous for your pretending. The way everyone is in the OBE, Astral Travel, and other "system" subreddits. Filled with attention seeking, but completely absent of magic.
If you want to learn sorcery, stick to the path.
Don't seek new chapters for your imaginary book deal.
What have you been doing all this time? I seem to remember that ID is an older one.
Yeah I've been around for awhile, I mostly lurk because I don't have anything to add if I'm not getting anywhere with the actual sorcery practices. You always said the first thing I have to learn and practice is silence and the rest will follow, but I still can't seem to quiet my mind for more than a few seconds.
I thought maybe with how weird my dream had gone and how clear my head felt I had gotten somewhere finally, but it's a bit disappointing I haven't.
But as far as the majority of what my practice has been all this time has been looking behind my facemask (while awake) trying to see the color puffs and what not. It hasn't gone anywhere though ever since that one time I saw a blue puff on my kitty while petting her (if you recall me telling you about that).
Did you consider using a form of meditation like TM, so that you get to the green zone, using a substitute for the internal dialogue?
That's how Hindu and Buddhist meditation work. They make a substitution, so the assemblage point can drift.
But are clueless about why it works.
The thing is, EVERYONE lies to themselves about whether they have shut off their internal dialogue.
It's hard to believe! But it's universal.
So you need something to keep you honest.
The puffs only show up if you are really getting rid of the internal dialogue.
Meditation of course never gets rid of the internal dialogue.
Or they'd know what we know.
But it does modify it enough to let the assemblage point drift into the green zone.
I know for a fact that TM lets you manifest stuff. In fact they teach it. Meditate 20 minutes, then switch to Patanjali's Sutras.
Which are essentially ways to play with the emanations.
Too bad Hinduism has no knowledge of that either.
I got Patanjali's sutras to work well, using TM, but I had the understanding Carlos gave us about the internal dialogue. So I'd do the meditation, and when it was time to do the "Siddhis" techniques, I just forced off my internal dialogue.
So they worked.
Keep in mind, it might seem oppressive to criticize your post.
But thousands pass through here each year, and the pictures attract the worst attention seekers.
If we figured once in a while a post like yours is in fact a little interesting and doesn't hurt anything, we'd have to let more people post stuff that doesn't help anyone learn, and this place would be destroyed very quickly.
It's interesting that in order to restore magic to the world, you have to break social rules you wouldn't expect.
Like fairness, and politeness.
Can't have those to do what we're doing. Has to be single minded (due to the sheer numbers of attention seekers out there in our community).
Nah, I've been here long enough I know you're just making sure this subreddit doesn't go off the rails. The main reason I posted was for your response anyways, I figured if I was off base you'd be brutally honest, and if I was on the right track it'd have peaked your interest. I've had experiences I thought were also dreaming related you thought were IOBs so it's hard for me to tell the difference still when I'm on track and when I'm not. I should probably post more clearly next time though like, "I'm not sure if I'm on track or if this is nonsense"
Thanks for the pointers though, I'll look into TM meditation! I haven't tried any kind of substitution meditations so maybe that'll help.
Open a random book, and try to read the normally while counting backwards from 1000-0
This occupies your inner speech. Might help build the “muscle” to control silence
