I'll tell the river of filth story.
We all live at the blue line on that J curve.
Don Juan called it the "River of Shit".
Usually we say "River of filth", but the truth is, don Juan had a foul mouth, and used lots of cutesy phrases you wouldn't associate with a college professor.
Carlos must have been the one to turn him into a professor type. I can just imagine don Juan and Carlos laughing over how to "word" things, to sound super rational and logical.
Everyone on earth is stuck in that river, pissing and pooping on each other all day long.
It's so puzzling why everyone, without exception for different cultures, is stuck there.
Carlos explained it was scavenger beings who lick our awareness down to our toes, so we can't do anything but feel sorry for ourselves all day long, and we never have the energy to notice the shore.
Inside the river there seem to be people who can help you escape it, but those are just barges floating on the river of shit. You can never escape on them, no matter what their story is. They just want your stuff.
You have to swim to shore by yourself, and climb out.
When you do, you will find sorcerers there, waiting to hose you off.
They really are there!!! It's not a joke. I believe I have 2 helping me lately, man and a woman.
After they hose you off, you can go look around on the shore a little.
It's wondrous!
But it's a bit cold. You'll miss your friends in the river of filth.
It's warm and cozy in there, while the shore is chilly.
You'd like to bring some out to come with you, but you'll fail.
They don't even realize they are up to their shoulders in filth. They were born into that.
So unfortunately, after getting a look at the shore, and the potential for freedom, most go back to the river.

If you research those things, on google, you won't find any reason to believe them.
And, they come from a modern religion. Hinduism is post agriculture, and post money.
So con artists make up magic, to get people's cash.
What you mention is not even a part of any older religions, from back before you could cheat people by making such things up.
Ours is from people who had to hunt and gather their own food, and there wasn't any money.

All i can tell you is that for a few days I felt energy cycling in my body that I never have before. It lasted for a few days and felt sexual at times. It settled down but a calmness that I had Long forgotten came over me and I was reassured that everything was in its place. I felt so much peace at this time I could’ve died a painful death with a smile. This experience faded but it was nothing less than magical in my experience. I don’t need others to guide me truly even Castaneda is a fraud trying to make money isn’t he. At the time I also had an image appear in my minds eye of a certain diety or figure that I have no research in nor was the image one from my mind.

I don’t need to learn sorcery because I don’t wish to be more special than others. I am that I am. I am the great I am just like you are too. There is no special thought you need to be you just are. This whole existence is magical and to me what I wish to behold is peace of mind and understanding. Sometimes that understanding is that e cannot understand. I’m it sure who you think you are or why you want to be special and better than anyone else. What makes you think the person you are now is truly what you are. We all die my friend and being that is the fact your body is only temporary and is not who you are. If energy is what we are there is no definition to it without a body in our minds understanding. When we die we assume the true form of thAt which we are. The essence of creation the energy of creation. I can't believe that myself, but there are reasons to say it.
Not a single one ever learned any magic. They had the instructions, but no one learned.
If you press some, reminding them all you have to do is remove that internal dialogue, they get angry and insist they can do that.
The problem is, someone who can shut it off, knows exactly how reality works.
You shut off the internal dialogue, and the entire thing goes away.
It just "stops".

I believe it actually upset Corey and Felix, but it's been a long time.
Felix was book deal obsessed, and had no interest in sorcery. So it upset him as a potential indication Carlos was fake. Shortly after that he concocted the idea that Carlos went bad, so everyone should follow him. He tried to "fix" the thought that Carlos was a fraud, by explaining he merely went bad.
Corey just seemed to be concerned with properness and a substitute father figure, so it made Carlos look hostile to society. I tried to get Corey to notice what's going on lately, but all he had to say was that he almost killed himself when Carlos died.
As if that had anything to do with sorcery.
The river of shit isn't really such a crazy idea.
in fact, it's just the blue zone.
The Island of the Tonal if you like.
People seem to forget, everything we know is on the island of the Tonal.
Even God, religion, the devil, Buddhism.
