Hey. I'm not familiar with the work of Carlos. Nonetheless, while browsing through Reddit yesterday, I randomly came across
/u/Danl999
and his posts. Read a bunch and I quite liked them. I wonder if I understood things correctly, and also if the essence of these teachings matches my current understanding?
I feel that information is limited and limiting; that the only sure way 'not fail' in this journey is to 'unlearn' everything, never look for more, and just 'go at it' alone and with a blank slate. No spiritual systems, no beliefs, no knowledge, no teachings, no practices, no conclusions, no nothing. Just a blank piece of paper, within and without, all the time, as much as possible. And from there on, whatever happens happens.
If I'm right, must I read anything else, or just apply myself to the task--going off the well-trodden path(s) and exploring the unknown? Best regards.

Knowledge and Practices shouldn't be included in the "no..." list.
"Every warrior on the path of knowledge thinks, at one time or another, that (they're) learning sorcery, but all (they're) doing is allowing (themself) to be convinced of the power hidden in (their) being, and that (they) can reach it."

Yes ,you are absolutely on the correct road.
No.
It surely isn't what you expected, because you had to ask that question.
Which implies you don't know much of anything about the path. Yet. Which seems lately to be better than being an "old timer".
I've seen 5 old timers flow into here, and each tried to relive their glory days, back when they bullied people in chat groups, and pretended to have knowledge they never shared or explained.
Old timers would destroy this place, if we allowed the worst of them to stick around. Fortunately they can't control themselves, and eventually expose their mindset.
So people new to the books, seem to me to have a better chance.
But don't neglect to read the books now. They're literally a "map".
If you're male.
Women don't need to follow any rules. But they'll be better off if they do.
When you have an inkling of the course of that map, from the books, this place will be EXACTLY what you expected.
But full of surprises.
I'm a private class student of Carlos, who's been watching how bad things got in our community for decades. We also have 2 others in here, including a super bad ass witch who's as crazy as Josefina. And one who's very rational and had exposure to the witches as well as Carlos.
And possibly a lurker or two.
Little Smoke and Devil's weed, the spirits owned by Carlos, were introduced to us by Carlos as an emergency measure just before his death.
They finally got tired of me being reluctant to interfere with the organization he set up, and forced me here to help.
They're hanging out somewhere in here. If you stick around, you might get to meet Little Smoke.
She's chased me all over Asia in the past.
But don't let her scare you.
It's just an act.

I do have a question that I couldn’t quite find in the indexes and I have more than likely answered this already in my head but you mention women don’t need to follow any rules, is that just due to the connection women have to the natural world or is there another explanation to that, or does it have more to do with men having a harder time keeping that quiet mind so the rules sort of help guide that.
It has to do with how easy it is for women to move the assemblage point. Because of their hormonal cycle the assemblage point moves regularly and is less fixed then men. But men are more likely to follow a path in a steadfast manner. Women need to work less but they get distracted easily.
ah interesting
I'll give you the other half of that, which is MOST SIGNIFICANT in silent knowledge.
I haven't seen it enough to understand it.
But that's the "funnel analogy" the witches give.
Both men and women have one of those cheap plastic funnels stuck on their noses.
I believe it's green, from the "Dollar store", which is now the $1.25 store thanks to inflation.
The men felt silly with a funnel stuck on their nose, so they put the big side down, covering their face like a mask. So no one else would see who has a funnel stuck on their face. They peak out the little hole at the bottom.
In Silent Knowledge, that makes them good "toy builders", but not very good for looking at "the big picture".
Silent Knowledge is where, how you focus your attention becomes everything.
The women said, "Fuck that, I'm not blocking my sight."
So they stuck the small end in their mouth, giving them a very wide view of reality.
That's all 100% true.
Except for the actual funnel part.

Don't worry, women get the special treatment in here, because we used to chase them away by accident.
But I think it's not as complicated as you think. It's just that it's vast. It's like relearning reality.
Women and men are intrinsically different.
Men have suppressed witches throughout time, because they fear what they can do.
So for example, the Jewish Prophets had weakened, "old magic" probably African.
They were inept.
BUT, at least they had real magic!
If you read the old testament, they make fun of male sorcerers.
The pharaohs sorcerers for example.
They didn't say the obvious: that they were frauds.
Instead, the admitted they had magic, but the magic of Moses was better.
They made fun of Balaam, who had a talking donkey.
Look... Anyone with a talking donkey is ok by me!
But the prophets wrote about him like he was a fool.
And what did they say about female sorcerers?
Kill them.
Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.
Why is because, witches could exposé their mistakes.
The witch of Endor is a prototype for real witches, with her summoning spell.
Cholita did that for me a few times. It's awesome to see!
She materialized, dead, on a plank, with her own zombie in a hoodie to carry her down a picturesque old dirt road, towards hell.
It was magnificent! Go find the picture!
Keep in mind, it really happened. Awake, eyes open.
And the witch of Endor from the bible materialized Samuel. Using the same technique.
Here's that technique. Works like a charm!

So why are witches dangerous to men?
Because they can do anything they hear about.
The men have to go into the desert and eat locusts and honey for 40 years, wearing a scratchy camel hair coat.
In order to learn to shut off that voice in their head.
Women don't have to do that.
Their problem is motivation, not power.
And it turns out, their awareness focuses out, like a wide beam moving at 45 degrees. The further away, the more it takes in.
Men's awareness goes out like a point. The further away, the less they can see.
Like trying to look through the narrow end of a funnel.
Also, most spirits are female.
So women and spirits have a lot in common.
how they can control men for example.
Spirits use the same methods to control men.
But as with human women it's beneficial to both, and the men certainly don't complain about it (much).
There are male spirits, but none of us has ever heard of one.
I just hope they don't show up naked in the dark, looking over your bed, fully visible...
The female ones do that on occasion.

Best way to look at the knowledge/teaching is through the dichotomy of Implicit Knowledge and Explicit Knowledge. When you understand the difference between both, you'll have a stronger understanding of how to approach all of this.
