How Do I Practice "Intending"

This is what don Juan said intending was in
The Art of Dreaming
It requires imagination, discipline, and purpose. In this case, to intend means
that you get an unquestionable bodily knowledge that you are a dreamer. You feel you
are a dreamer with all the cells of your body.
This quote actually made "intend" in the context of sorcery make more sense. It's basically faith.
But how do you actually practice "intending". Am I supposed to feel an emotion? How do I convince myself to do something that seems conventionally impossible?
And, what are the easiest tasks I can practice "intending" so I have an experiential reference of what it feels like?

Intent isn't much like faith at all actually.

The stated purpose of this subreddit is to aid in restoring the reputation of Carlos Castaneda and the knowledge he imparted, by pragmatically applying that knowledge IN PRACTICE. This means that we are sticking to what really works, as proven by direct experience by long-practicing members.
No low effort posting, pretending, or wasting people's time.

Especially problematic posts, ex. questions that could be answered by either practicing or by reading more posts or from the books, will be removed and users who make similar repeated posts will be banned for a minimum of 3 months. Pretend sorcery which does not emphasize silence, and is based only on thinking and mood, will not be tolerated.
Self-centered promotion, jockeying for a "top-dog" position, & grandstanding are bannable behaviors.

Persons promoting behavior over effort to get silent and the necessity to move the assemblage point, and who won't give up that activity, are likely to be banned for a minimum of ONE YEAR.
Those being overly disruptive will be temporarily or permanently banned, at the mods discretion.
