Can't Break the 2-hour Mark on Recapitulation

I'd always do recapitulation for about 12 - 30 minutes at a time. Since I've found this place, I've been pushing myself to do it for 2 hours. So far, I've been able to set the record at an hour and twentyp-seven minutes. That's it. I consistently keep it at longer than an hour now, but I'd like to be able to do it for 2 and even 3.

I either lose the ability to focus or get super sleepy or I feel some discomfort/pressure in the heart center area after a while and have to stop. The most productive time still remains the first 10-15 minutes, it's when I can "see" stuff in the dark. The more time I spend the less focus and "intent" I have, by the end of it, it's almost impossible to concentrate, I feel incredibly tired and exhausted.

It's a priceless practice because it heals, the events and people I recap no longer infuriate or bother me (the feeling is tangible), but the process itself is far from comfortable and pleasant for me. I wonder if other people enjoy this practice or maybe do it somehow different that allows them to keep going for hours? Care to share your recap hacks? :D

At the risk of being reductionist, could it be something as simple as the chair you're sitting in? Or maybe just your sitting position?

Have you tried interspersing that time with some of the Recap-specific passes? Some of them are done while sitting:

I'll have to try my favorite chair to know for sure. I comfortably spend 12 hours a day in it, so if the same issues arise, it's not the chair lol. It would be lovely if it was just that! Will see.

Interesting exercises. The title doesn't say anything about Castaneda, though. Is this just some random warm-up or is it related to our teachings in any way?

If you're talking about the videos from Being Energy's channel, then yes, those are being demonstrated by Miles Reid who was taught directly by Carlos. He's the guy pictured in the book Magical Passes.

The rest of the passes listed on that page are either from that book, or taught at workshops.

Yeah, wasn't the chair. lol Tried it on my favorite comfy chair that I spend half of the day in and the same - chest pressure/discomfort at certain points.

My current theory is it's related to the particular scenes I'm recapping and the breathing, probably; the more emotionally charged the scene is, the more trouble I have (naturally). I get too worked up to control the breathing, and maybe I'm holding my breath for too long or inhale too intensely that it affects my lung/heart comfort, idk.

Then the advice is the same. Physical movements tuned specifically to recap. Different breaths as well, like the ones Taisha (who does a lot of recap) describes in her book:

Hour and 20 sounds like the place to hold it then, but make sure you are silent, if you aren't needing to talk to yourself to remember something.

Ideally the inorganic beings will notice your efforts, and you'll get some odd "false memories".

Or you'll blank out.

But women aren't the same as men, and I don't know any women who got that serious, except in the books.

Otherwise we'd have heard about it.

Unless cleargreen is keeping things to themselves. That's possible.

I've reconsidered the introduction to the booklet publications Carlos made, and now think maybe those were a warning the witches were leaving us.

And that the rumor of them in a workshop was hype to sell more tickets.

I don't need to talk to myself, I almost never do, actually. My "internal dialogue" is mostly visual, it's literal movies and videos I saw, playing right in front of me on repeat, trying to distract me from the practice, be it darkroom or new age bullshit meditation -same distraction.

With recap it's easier, because the movie I see is the event I need to recap. It's more like a video game, even, it switches from the first person/third person view all the time. The only problem arises when I get too invested in the scene of the event and start yelling at the people in it. lol That happens when I get tired and lose focus, doesn't happen in the first half hour, happens closer to the end.

Also, during the practice I take silence breaks. I recap a bit, then I feel like not doing anything and just staring ahead, just sitting - that's the pleasarable part of the practice. After a bit, silence slips away and random visuals (not magic, youtube videos) come again, then I start recap again, then I feel like sitting in silence again for a bit, then the visuals come and I do recap again. This happens throughout the whole thing.

And yay! Hour and 20 is very doable for me, if that's enough it's fantastic news!

We'll find out when you teleport to the other side of your home.

Or a tunnel made of light and wind materializes in front of you.

Or the IOBs offer you a "bribe".

I have no idea why the news from Miles, Aerin, Reni, and Nyei is zero. About the magic of recap.

It's puzzling...

I don't see how you can assume they just don't practice as much as they claim.

Nor that they do practice as much as Carlos advised (he was having people do the long sessions also), and nothing is happening.

So conspiracy theory: Bruce knows Soledad, and between her and Carol, they decided the workshops were a bust and they only keep doing them to get money.

But don't want the trouble of them being more than weird chi gung. Or can't afford to tell people to work harder because it causes burnout and loss of revenue.

Or Carlos left instructions not to mess with anything at all.

Otherwise, what the hell is going on over there???

[-]
u/CiChocolate 2 points 2022-10-07 22:25

Miles, Aerin, Reni, and Nyei

I don't know who any of those people are...

I don't know who Bruce is, either. Does Carol continue the workshops? Does she have a studio somewhere? I only saw a bit about her showing up to someone else's workshop in 2016 or 2017? Not sure.

Or Carlos left instructions not to mess with anything at all.

hm... so you think he could leave some instructions for Carol separate from you and other students?

[-]
u/danl999 4 points 2022-10-07 22:30

Don't know.

Might even be, he doesn't need to "leave" them at all.

I get to see him once in a while. And not like Miles where he "gives me constant advice on workshop material".

Uhhh.... Yea. Sure.

I mean, in my case I leap into one too many dream while awake, to figure out how many times you can do that before you are absorbed by the emanations, and after a while he's standing there.

Clear as anything. Maybe if for no other reason, to make me stop doing that.

Someone else in here also sees him occasionally.

Surely Carol can too.

But whether he's real or Memorex, I couldn't say.

[-]
u/CiChocolate 2 points 2022-10-07 22:38

Does he bring any information? Any direction/instruction or expresses approval/disapproval? What is he wearing when he visits?

If he doesn't interact with you at all or wears something you see him wearing when you remember him, it's more of a chance of being "Memorex", I'd say.

He wanted me to follow him inside what I interpreted to be white hallways in a mall office section.

But later I realized, those would technically be called pathways to "vaults" in an egyptian pyramid tomb.

And that huge dome structure has "vaults".

I didn't go with him all the way, I stopped halfway to where he was leading me, to "test him".

With a question.

He looked disappointed, and let me go.

Same as when he wanted me to buy Pandora, and I wasn't excited at the idea.

He later claimed it was just a stalking maneuver.

Same as happened when he left in real life. He wanted me to go with Florinda, maybe to work like Kylie to protect her, but I didn't go for it so he dropped it.

And I got Cholita instead!

I made the right choices as far as I'm concerned.

But I've seen him too many times to remember them all.

Once with don Juan. He was on my left, don Juan on my right. And someone adjusted my shoulders.

Keep in mind, i don't do these things asleep. Ever.

So whatever it was, it was very different than anything else I do.

The Buddha, Yogis, and Monroe have poisoned the minds of everyone regarding the supernatural.

Everyone expects you're sitting like an idiot with your eyes closed.

And so it's easy to "imagine things".

Missing the obvious: Hey, you're awake!!!

No drugs involved.

Isn't that cool enough to be cut some slack?

Nope.

[-]
u/Artivist 2 points 2022-10-09 21:37

Everyone expects you're sitting like an idiot with your eyes closed.

Do you still occasionally practice with your eyes closed or is darkroom with eyes open all the time?

[-]
u/danl999 3 points 2022-10-10 14:36

There's advanced stages of darkroom where you substitute sleep for continuing to practice, in a pseudo sleep condition with eyes closed.

But you do that AFTER hours of the real thing done with eyes open.

I did that last night and got some spectacular results! Cholita even came to visit to "rub it in my nose" that she was more powerful than me.

But it's very bad to advocate any closed eye activity, because of the tendency for men to be lying bastards. And because evil men like Monroe have taught them to do that, to get attention.

Women can do as they please, although I sure would like to see a "J curve Puff Expert" in the female population.

A really "witchy, witchy witch".

As Dr. Who would say.

[-]
u/Artivist 1 points 2022-10-10 18:23

But it's very bad to advocate any closed eye activity, because of the tendency for men to be lying bastards.

Is the lying referring to bad actors who just record their ordinary dreams and pretend that they were completely lucid?

Or, does it also include those individuals who get lucky once or twice a week when they realize that they are in a dream and are able to control those dreams to some degree like flying around or visiting remote places?

I ask because this is the only place where people are learning to do magic at will every day without drugs and any luck involved.

[-]
u/danl999 3 points 2022-10-10 18:39

To both.

If you don't find your hands, it doesn't count.

If you proceed on any other basis, it's like going to the gym and using the weight machines on the lowest weight, thinking you'll get big muscles just because you used them. And congratulating yourself on the way out the door.

Maybe you even go hang out with sincere bodybuilders, feeling like you're "one of them".

You have to challenge yourself by following the very difficult rules.

Not entirely because you learn that way, but because intent gifts you for that, following the path the old seers took.

You work hard with a specific goal in mind, and the spirit helps you out.

If you work hard to be a good Mormon, the spirit will show you your planet you get to run when you turn into a God.

Of course you don't, but it's what you wanted.

If you work hard to learn to have fun in dreaming and be able to tell yourself and others cool stories, intent will help you out to be an attention seeking con artist.

But if you work hard to follow the instructions Carlos gave us, even though it's 100 times harder, intent will gift you along that path.

Which gifts you along the path of the old seers.

Which is the ONLY path we have.

Just look around. It's pretend in all other systems.

Or I wouldn't have to be here.

We CANNOT learn sorcery.

We only follow the path of the Olmecs, for which the only connection we have now is Carlos.

To believe just because you have a cool dream you are learning sorcery, is death to your progress.

It's the book deal mind.

Now women are another story...

There's that Dr. Who episode where 3 copies of him are in the London Tower back in time, about to be beheaded.

They all work brilliantly to solve the problem and figure out how to escape, by carving a code on stone, to be read hundreds of years later by people in the future, who will send help.

And they they come up with many other really clever ideas, and congratulate themselves.

Then the woman traveling with them shows up and simply opens the door and has to ask, "Didn't any of you think to try the door???"

"It was supposed to be locked", was the lame answer.

That's what women do.

But the men can't copy that. They just don't know which doors to try.

[-]
u/Artivist 2 points 2022-10-10 18:51

I think I understand it better now.

However, couldn't the lying bastards continue to lie with eyes open?

[-]
u/danl999 3 points 2022-10-10 19:29

We try to toss them out when that happens.

It's the best we can do.

Fortunately, they don't know enough to make convincing lies for long.

And they have such nasty personalities, the old timers in her who did enough work to "clean off a bit" can easily see they aren't actually learning silence.

Not to mention we discuss new people in a private discussion group all the time, to see who notices lying.

But there's another way to answer your question.

Where has anyone done what you suggest, and learned any magic?

I mean, just fantastic dreams where you get to do stuff, even if you weren't lucid enough to find your hands and look from object to object.

Where has that EVER worked for anyone? It's been around a VERY LONG TIME.

They certainly haven't in the lucid dreaming subreddit!

Those guys instantly delete my posts.

I have endless WAKING DREAMING, far cooler than anything they do, and you don't have to get lucid using random luck, so you can do it daily for hours.

But it infuriates them, so they delete it.

Meaning, there's book deal mind people running that subreddit.

The book deal doesn't stand up to real magic. If you get real magic, you get more honest.

They have none.

i can go longer if i start it right after i wake up, so on weekends i can get to almost three hours and it feels like that number is increasing. in taishas book she said after 8 months of recap everyday she got to the point where she could do it all day with no problem, so im using that as a baseline.

ive only been recapping daily for about 2 months now.

if i recap in the morning i dont get sleepy,

[-]
u/CiChocolate 2 points 2022-10-08 17:15

This could also be it. I always do recap at night... so, already tired. I'm beginning to think recap is not like a relaxation/meditation technique which actually is better done when you're tired. Recap is actual work and suffers if I do it already tired. Fresh and full of energy is the best way to do recap, apparently.

I'll try doing it BEFORE I get tired lol .

u/Agitated_Direction17 2 points 2022-10-08 17:35

recap in the morning and darkroom at night is my new scedule,

i think its gonna work well

i saw a huge pulsing thing in my face last night, it was multi colored and a ring of light came out of it every 2 seconds or so, probly the coolest thing ive seen thus far

u/CiChocolate 2 points 2022-10-08 18:16

Awesome!
I saw a swirl similar to the one in this video I've attached, but not sure what it is.
